They're advertised as 4K versions of the old consoles, not a new generation. It makes sense they're not going all out until PS5/X2
Lmao, any game at Sony's conference looked better than Mario Aliasing Odyssey. It looks like a downgraded 360 game with those jaggies. For it's credit, it's 60fps.
Spidey or SoTC was the showstopper for sure.
I think I could justify something like a new texture pack along with other better graphics settings as DLC for like $10-15, better than buying a remaster. Especially if nex-gen is backwards compatible with this gen. I'd love to see how some of these games would look with 4K texture updates.

I'd definitely like to play Xbox players with my PS4. Imagine having Xbox vs PS4 tournaments. I want a real console war. Finally settle who's got the better console once and for all. And for that, we need crossplay.
Plus if we could add like 10 friends from another network with voice chat across platforms, that would be freaking awesome.
The game looked like it was working to me. Maybe MS wasn't contributing enough? Consider Santa Monica spent all gen making God of War, Insomniac spent most of the gen making Spiderman, same with Sucker Punch and their new IP since the games before those two games were released at the beginning of the gen.

With PS's massive install base and 3DS being phased out, this could be very true. If Switch doesn't attract enough consumers, why would they port it to that platform?

The graphics look terribad. I hope Switch gets emulated 100% in the next few years so I can play this with good visual quality... I mean, those jaggies are incredible. Hell, I'd even take a 30fps version instead with better graphics.
I wouldn't say nobody. I'm more interested in Yoshi than I am Super Mario Odyssey because atleast there's none of that terrible aliasing and the graphics are quite good. I'm also a Yoshi connoisseur. But forreal their conference was lacking.
