You have no evidence they're taking a loss with PS4-Pro. I saw LAUNCH deals with two free games which means they're definitely making a profit.

And it's not "a little over 2 years". 2019 will be exactly 3 years from PS4-Pro.

I doubt the dGpu. The price would skyrocket at $549-599. But we could also easily get more than 10 TF.

I'd say they're just waiting on the 7nm node and we'll get another APU. We should be able to get a 10 TF APU on 7nm. All just depends on if AMD has any delays with it or not. Considering Ryzen/Vega's delays, I could see a 2020-2021 release. But if they can stay on track we might get lucky enough for 2019. It's in AMD's hands really.

Dude you obviously can't math. 2019-2013 is 6 years. Every PS console has come out in the later half of the year as well. Most gens are 5 years.

Plus most people don't even know of PS4-Pro's existence and yet the system is selling well, think of all the people that would be willing to update to PS5 knowing of an actual update.

And how does PS4 have "heaps of life" left in it? Most of it's games are early 2018 games. The rest...

Dis why we need PS5 in 2019. I'm ready to see 4k maxed the heck out with 16GB of RAM.

Very nice for the price at $600.

I'd say a step above that would be the Sony X900e and it's also better for playing 24p content over a 60hz signal for videophiles. But it's nearly twice as much for the smaller model.

I would check to make sure it has a VA panel and not IPS. LG LED TVs are generally IPS which means way lower picture quality but better viewing angles. Also for that price, $1999- you might as well buy an LG C7 OLED- the best TV on the market with not only the best picture quality but the best viewing angles. It's not only the best of both worlds, it's industry leading in every aspect, and I'm sure the motion blur and response times will also be better. It's only a few hun...

Exactly. If the Switch were 1TFLOP they would be getting multiplats, which they're not. Mario would look 2x better as well with Anti-Aliasing.

Also, I would have bought one with that kind of power. In it's current state? Not so much.

Had they used the Tegra X2 it may have been possible- but they didn't.

Actually, you are factually inaccurate. The jumps in FLOPS were 20-40 times between generations in the past, now we're looking at 7 times and probably less with PS5 unless they drag out gen 8. The jump between 360 and XB1 was 5x. The numbers simply don't lie.

You also have Nvidia saying that they're reaching the limits of silicon and AMD with countless delays on releasing new processors.

Even with effects and other settings that aren't ...

The sad part is that generations are lasting longer and yet jumps are becoming weaker. I miss the days when you got a new system and were immediately wowed by how much they'd progressed. Now you have to wait a few years for optimization as well. Hopefully AMD's 7nm node allows for a 9-10 TFLOPS PS5, although that's still a relatively small jump(only 4.5-5x as powerful as PS4)

Disagrees can't handle the facts:

PS4- 60+ Million
Xbox- 30+ Million
Switch + Wii U- 15 Million

They're in dead last place and you know it.

Are you f-ing serious? Nintendo is dead last in sales by a long shot.

3157d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

Sounds good, although I'm still waiting on KH3 and FFVIIR. Here's to hoping we get a KH3 release date next week. Although this game isn't going to stop me from wanting FFVIIR which is looking more and more like it's gonna be a PS5 title. *sigh*

Nintendew, and do retro games outsell AAA HD/4K games currently? No? Your argument is invalid.

Seriously? He's deflecting the fact that they don't have good performance because they "have variety".

Others have good performance and variety. So it's a rational argument to say that he's not addressing Nintendo's issues, which is why they're last place.

How about YOU stay on topic.

If the Mid-gen thing happens again nex-gen, that would be kind of weird. We had the mid-gen refreshes because of 4K demand, since PS5 will likely be 4K, or at least CB 4K, a mid-gen refresh would show a lot less improvement. If they release them for more 60fps updates, then it would be unfair in online games for people that are playing 30fps.

Unless they increase the RAM, we aren't going to see very big upgrades. And they didn't increase RAM with the current Pro-...

Tyasia nice find, but I still think they would die shrink to 7nm before releasing the next console. That's where most of the performance gains are. 2019 is still way more likely than 2018...

2025 if we go by a six year cycle which is in between the norm of 5 years and the recent abnormal 7 year cycles.

I think 6 year cycles make sense.

3158d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Consoles never launch in the early part of the year. They'd just move the date earlier to Fall/Winter 2019 or later to Fall/Winter 2020.

And according to Timelines 2018 would be the release of PS5. Most gens are 5 years long. PS360 gen was abnormally long and I'd much rather that not become the norm.
