I think some people are missing the point of what I'm saying- I'm saying that impressive graphics alone are nice, but when adding a specific art style, whether it be Pixar, or FFVIIR's 'deformed' style that looks like the prerendered CG backgrounds from the original FFVII with a ton of extra detail, or JRPG fantasy aspects(clothing, fantastical architecture, hair, or otherwise) can really round out a style. Also Spidey's suit is easier to render than say a human face....
I disagree. The ARPG aspect is fine as a JRPG because:
-KH-BBS proves that there is more strategy to buffs/debuffs in an ARPG system
-Any other KH proves that there is just as much if not more strategy to magic in an ARPG system. FFXV's magic sucked, but since FFVIIR is made by the Dissidia team with the KH-team's assistance, I believe it will work out.
-You really only can control one character at a time in turn-based. That's why it's c...
Agreed, plus I want a IX remake, not a remaster.
The 7nm node is 2019 though. I could see it being announced at E3 2019 and released in Winter 2019 though. Actually, that's what I'm hoping for.
My bad. That would be nice, but there's always the chance it's 2020.
I do wonder why they would keep PS4 around though in 2019 if all of the first party AAA games are already out for it by then. Many people have an aversion to 2019, but it makes no sense... Why would you be waiting around for no games?
If generations were 6 years, PS5 would launch in 2019, not 2020.
Ryzen+ isn't even scheduled until 2019, I doubt we'll get Zen 3, or even Zen 2 in PS5. We'll likely get a Ryzen/Vega APU downsized to 7nm. If we're lucky we'll get Ryzen+/Navi.
I could see a lot of cross-gen games because of this scenario. Say Death Stranding or FFVIIR isn't ready before PS5 launches- the game gets released on PS4 but gets higher graphics options on PS5. Other, newer games for PS5 could follow suit so it's just like an ultimate PS4 for a while, so people don't feel left behind.
If the 7nm node is ready in 2019, I wouldn't think it would come out later than 2020.
And it's definitely NOT going to be 10x the power of PS4. Maybe 5-6x.
Depends, some games could come close but most won't. I'm more interested in seeing games that take an heavier art style cue or fantastical element into account as well as graphics. Look at Spidey or FFVIIR for instance. Or Kingdom Hearts IV will look like a damn Pixar movie(they're almost there, just some jaggies that need to be ironed out).
I'd love to see more fantasy games in that vein, they could do some really timeless stuff with PS5. That's wha...

That's all very good news and thanks for the insight. Nex-gen is sounding a little brighter the more AMD progresses, and I'll definitely have to make my next PC build AMD because of it. I've currently got a Skylake i5 which is decent but I got one that doesn't overclock. I'll definitely go Ryzen+/Navi in 2019 and put the i5 in an HTPC build. I wonder if Ryzen+/Navi will be used in the next consoles as well, considering they're already wo...
This is the furthest thing from them winning though, it's really laughable. Still upvoted you though.
Very good points here from both of you. If we get a delay to 2020-2021 it's because of a change of landscape in the economy, as well as lower yields. Sad on both ends, but I can dream with a 2019 release regardless- truth be told though, AMD will likely run into some delays like they are currently, and console jumps just aren't what they used to be. Adjusted for inflation we should be able to afford $499-699 consoles and get another worthy bump, but the economy is so shit it's ...
They're also coming out with 8-core Ryzen/Vega apus called Pinnacle Ridge.
SSDs will NOT happen in the next 10 years, maybe if we're lucky they'll develop some kind of caching method(no idea how it would work though, as it'd still have to load off of a HDD). Considering 4K will require 2-5TB HDDs, SSDs in that range would run $2-3K. They're NOT dropping to $50 in the next 10 years.
The only hope we really have is of a 7200RPM SSHD if we're lucky. Or if more games will support a user-installed SSD, but we're not getting t...
I can see this after the 7nm node gets released. I wonder how much power they can put into a Ryzen/Vega 7nm APU. Hope it's 10 TFLOPS.
9-11 years is retarded if you consider any analysis in trends in previous generations, demand for a new console, and processor enhancements.
RAM has something to do with 4K texture quality, which is what the article is about. Keep up.
How is it killing it off when it'll have been 6 years old? Furthermore why would they keep it around if all of their major game releases are in 2018 and likely early 2019? It would be retarded to start another 3-5 year development cycle in 2018-2019 for PS4 games. That would mean PS5 wouldn't arrive until 2022-2024 which would be insane.
Most gens are 5 years long and you're basically asking for a 9-11 year gen which is retarded.

While it's best to be an independent, to say there isn't one party that's better than the other is ridiculous. One doesn't believe in Climate Change, believes that the Earth is 6,000 years old, that insulting veterans, women, and disabled is regular talk, and takes donations from the Pharmaceutical and Oil industries like whores selling themselves to whoever has the most money. Now Republicans are also selling themselves to internet service pro...
