I agree with almost everything you just said. I don't think 4K HDR will be the norm in 2020 though across cable networks, we'll have a couple instances, but we'll still have 1080p and even 720p SDR as the main quality, and many networks will not have any 4K programming at all. I do want it to have a 4K HDR Drive though.
Agree with the 2TB minimum. In fact, it's kind of a guarantee loading times are going to increase in the future as well with 4K textures....
Yeah, but we still have to wait for AMD to downsize the node to 7nm which is 2019. Even so there's no guarantee they'll have an APU ready by then. I agree it'll be 2019-2020 though, no earlier, no later.
Nah. 2021 is retarded, 8 years, seriously? Normal gens are 6 years for Sony, 5 historically across other consoles. Also, all of their first parties are coming out in 2018-2019, they'll want a new system so the next batch of games has the new platform to release on. 2019-2020 makes sense. AMD's roadmap is 7nm in 2019. If AMD has a new APU ready by 2019, they'll release it then. If they don't release it in 2019 or have a delay which is likely, it'll be 2020 the absolu...
Hmm, preference difference here. I don't like the screen to be that bright. I'd rather it be 650 nits and use lighting control in the house instead. Samsung advertises their 2,000 nits tvs for viewing in ultra bright rooms and that doesn't interest me in the slightest.
Dunno, I'm PS4 and would gladly welcome Xbox players. Even better if we can get 5-10 friends from another network on our PSN accounts. What's wrong with more players? You guys don't have Xbox friends?
2019 or 2020
I'm thinking 2019 personally.
I'm not gonna lie, if I cared about multiplats more XB1X looks like a good value. I'm kind of casual these days so don't play much and care more about Sony 1st party though, so to each their own.
Oh wow that looks nicer... The only thing I'm wondering is if they've improved resolution or AA... even 900p would be nice.

Still haven't played 6 so no idea where that ranks.
The graphics looked pretty good to me. Just the facial animations weren't there. I enjoyed the overall art style as well, I think everything was nailed tbh. I just want to see a working game and animations to get buffed out, so far we have no idea if they've even made progress on those fronts which could be a bad sign.
The graphics and art style looked really good to me. The facial animations just weren't there.
Then they downgraded heavily.
Scorpio wanted a jump on nex-gen, inventing the half-gen upgrade instead. Sorry but nex-gen doesn't start until PS5 guys.
Agreed, the environments and graphics are awesome, as well as the art style. They said there were no facial animations as of yet which was the only draw.
Between animations and gameplay you'll have a better picture of the game, but it's way to early to be calling it either way as neither have been shown.
Well there's always the fact Samsung came along with Galaxy phones which became the most popular and bolstered their image. LG also holds a patent on the OLED technology everyone wants to use. So between those two Korean giants, their low and high end was inevitably going to suffer. As far as Samsung goes, they're not even the best value most of the time and LG is holding onto their OLED patent like no other. Sony still produces many reputable products at a competitive price, but ...
Umm, I understand- I have one myself. But 170GB of SSD space is incredible- especially if you're going the PCI-E route for acceptable loading times. This is approx 1/5 of a 1TB SSD. That means to install merely 5 games of this caliber, you'd be spending $300, twice as much for PCI-E- that's alot for most PC gamers.
Just imagine how long load times are going to be. PS4 was already long enough, now with 4K/8K textures as well? Better have an SSD for all that.
Imagine how long the loading times are. You don't just need a bigger HDD, you'll need a bigger SSD to play this 4K. Damn.
I actually often prefer 30fps over 60, but anything lower is a disgrace. I only like 60 if the motion blur is done just right like in TLOU Remastered.
TBH if I had it my way though, we'd have a 40fps option for true 120hz sets(40fps x 3multiplier=120hz). The market for it is so small though because most 120hz sets are just interpolated/interlaced/or whatever the hell else they do to the refresh rate. Still though, 40fps would be absolutely ideal for many games IMO.
