Gear's gameplay is on point. I don't see it getting worse, but they're going back to the "Kill the horror" type theme and less of the robots this time around.
However, I think most of us are pretty sick of gears by now. We've gotten like 6 mainline titles in 2 generations? (counting the prequel). And they've got spinoffs.

They need to dedicate L2(and R2) back to switching between Left and Right enemies. This makes the game more strategic, as choosing enemies is a big deal in ATB or ARPG.
As it stands, L2 IS FOR SWITCHING BETWEEN SPECIAL MOVES. WTF. You get so many special moves you have to choose between them. This is a big problem, and takes the "special" out of it, as well as the strategy behind what L2 used to be used for.

The game sucks and has a terrible premise that would be easy to dissect as lame and based around racism. The concept is so banal it's terrible and easy to see how lazy and entirely uninspired it is.

The difference is the previous one would have to be emulated or reworked the same as a remaster, because of the architectural difference between PS3 and PS4. There was no way to make it forwards compatible without changing a ton of the code around.
Because PS4 and PS5 should be more similar with PS5 just being more optimized and powerful, it should take a patch at most to get it running on PS5, not all of the work of a remaster.
That's the studio's credit for working with such an underpowered cpu.

I enjoy the art style, slightly. The graphics are so disjointed they can't do the art style any justice though. Also, the graphics SHOULD be good enough we could have gotten a KH3-lite art style going but hell, we're way too far off from that. It's strange because the maps are so small this should all be possible.
