I'm trying to figure out how I could possibly have downvotes.
1- Did you check the link? It looks slightly better. Not even a huge issue.
2- Those are realistic specs and price points for 2019-2022.
3- Adding 4GB DDR3 for system functions is a CHEAP way to increase RAM for the console without increasing the price tremendously. 4GB of DDR3 is going to be a few bucks whereas 4GB of GDDR6 is going to run you $15-20. And the system shouldn't be dip...
Same actually. I'd pay $549 US to get this to be a beast TBH. I'm less interested in the mid-cycle upgrade.
That said I'm thinking $499 is the upper end here so trying to keep my expectations realistic. 16 TFLOPS at $399 like everyone is saying is just ridiculous however we might get close at $499 or maybe even $449 depending on how much Sony wants to lose on each console. It's not uncommon for a console company to lose money on each console and gain mon...
Still really expensive. Maybe $200 if you're lucky.
No way we're getting 15.
7nm is only a 2x jump, so even if we got XB1X levels we'd only be at 12 TFLOPS for $499, with Sony taking a pretty hefty loss at that as MS is taking now. (they're forecasted to take a loss in 2020 anyway, so there's a chance we MIGHT get 12 if we're lucky).
Everyone saying 16 TFLOPS for $399 is out of their minds though.
1- Better OS. Not only does it need to be faster(especially the store) but needs a slight redesign. The Material inspired PS4 OS is a good example of improvement. https://youtu.be/m_9QLRwO_0...
2- The usual asked for upgrades- Ryzen + Navi + GDDR6. $499 so we can get around 12 TFLOPS. (Although Sony would likely take a loss for that much power at this price point)
3- In addition to the 16G...
SSD is not happening. For 2TB the cheapest is $299. Unless they make the console $699-799 it's just not coming.
How in the hell do I have downvotes stating facts about the previous model?
Even if it does, it's not a huge deal to me.
Why?
1- the differences between 1800p CB and native 4K won't be as big as 900p and 1440p for instance.
2- They likely won't increase FPS from 30 to 60 on most games as not to give anyone an advantage.
3- They didn't increase ram on the Pro model, meaning if this happens again there won't be any increase in level of detail.
4- Final Fan...
IKR. If they want some of the best they should hire Sakaguchi back up.
I'm thinking it's 2019.
And 2019 being a big year for PS4 is only more reason to release PS5 during that year.
2013 was a big year for PS3 but PS4 dropped anyway, not only that, but we can get the games crossgen/backwards compatible, meaning there is no drought year with PS5. This is incredibly good and a fantastic way to increase adoption without leaving old fans behind.
Also, we're not getting much of a jump by waiting to...
My Pro was loud since I got it. I'm hoping we get a medium/large form factor(like the Pro, PS3, or OG XB1) and vapor chamber cooling with the PS5 so it's not too loud and can get some good clocks in.
Creepy AF. This dude KNEW he was talking to someone underage and just assumed she turned 18? He shouldn't have been doing that in the first place.
Even said he didn't want his conversation to be of a sexual one until that time. That's disgusting, it shows he was already considering having these sexual talks.
Wtf. First red flag is the girl is underage. Are you really gonna go there? Secondly he admitted to it.
Let's be honest, the original trailer looked like it pushed the limits of PS4 in some respects. If it's moved to PS5 and pushes the limit there, it's essentially and extremely counterproductive to get it working on Switch.
It does seem pretty insane. Imagining what just twice the RAM would do, much less 2.5x if we're lucky. And Ryzen is going to make the 60fps graphical tradeoff much simpler for developers, I imagine more and more games will atleast have a 60fps mode(and graphically it will nearly be as good as the 30fps mode.) Only thing I hope for is that it has better cooling. I don't expect miracles, but Xbox One/X is much quieter than PS4/Pro, so Vapor Chamber cooling, as well as a form factor l...
Personally, I think PS5 should be $499.
The next node jump should double price/performance, so using the X as a point of reference that would be 12 TFLOPS but also needing an increase on RAM and HDD space. So we're at something like $549 for 2x the Xbox One X which they said they're already taking a loss on, and Sony says they're taking a loss come 2020(likely the PS5 releasing in 2019 or 2020 as a loss leader), so likely $499 for that 12TFLOPS goodness, maybe ...
-Sony is working on Ryzen
-Sony is expected to lose money in 2020, meaning PS5 should be out by then and is likely going to be a loss leader. I can't think of any other reason for them to lose money
-Sony has said a 7-year generation is too long
We really don't have much else though, and it could be 2020.
That's the best part about a PS5 launch in 2019
1- We ALWAYS have a drought year for launch, nobody says they bought PS4 for Knack and Killzone for instance, however backwards compatibility should remedy that. Cross-gen games are going to make PS5 slay out of the gate.
2- Nobody is left behind, PS4 users can just use 2019-2020 as an adoption year as always, but they still play all the newest games.
3- The next big jump IS IN 2019...
Right, 4K60 is going to be pretty beastly for this game, even if it's Checkerboard 4K.
1- looks the same, just refined
2- You understand $399 would make it trade blows with the X, right? It wouldn't even definitively be better, infact it could easily in some ways be worst and defeat the prospect of it being nex-gen entirely. Unless they take a loss.
Also, SONY themselves are forecasting losses in 2020 and the only possible Loss Leader I see them have coming is PS5. Do you even understand how a Loss Leader works? They do it so they c...
