Meh. Critical acclaim does not necessarily translate to big sales numbers, and vice versa. Some of the most popular movies and shows on Netflix have absolute dog shit review scores and are garbage. People love garbage. This game always seemed like it was targeting a certain crowd, maybe younger, casual, and/or inexperienced gamers. Maybe it's not for you or me but it can still potentially do well. Though Harry Potter may steal its thunder.
Yeah seems to be the consensus for a lot of long-time souls fans. I think the overall aesthetic and world building / level design was not on par with most of their previous games, but I somehow managed to sink a million more hours into ER. Mechanically, it is very good and this fact is probably what got me into PVP for the first time. It changed how I play these games and made ER extremely replay-able.
Hmmm, I actually quit mid-Horizon to play ER and never went back to it. I was too busy with ER all year. There are so many ways to approach this game and tailor your experience. Multiplayer is the most fun I've had with a game in a decade. The world is not empty relative to the majority of other open world games. Being that it is their first foray in open world, its shortcomings are forgivable. There's enough on offer that if you got stuck on a details like these, you clearly didn'...
I think the ship has sailed for Demon's Souls. It's a 13 year old game that never got DLC in its first run. Non-FROM DLC is potentially garbage. The problem with Sekiro is that multiplayer isn't really feasible in that engine, and the story is pretty self-contained. It already got a free DLC with boss rush mode.
Microsoft is basically trying to monopolize on an entire genre with COD exclusivity, and by buying the publisher, not timed exclusivity which is very different obviously.
Bloodborne, a Sony published & owned exclusive IP from last gen that only sold 2 million copies and still hasn't been ported to PC probably because sales isn't coming to xbox? Man Microsoft is really reaching aren't they? The others, IDK I can't help but imagine these decisions might be retaliation, and wonder what would happen if Microsoft showed some good faith instead of projecting onto Sony.
Honestly makes a bit of sense if December games are a hit lackluster. They are running sales through the holidays to get you to BUY the games you want.
Spending countless hours in ER pvp, and going back to the older games they feel just bad by comparison. Jumping adds a lot of depth to the combat (evasion, poise damage/combos, an entire new set of attacks), crouching attacks add a new higher speed attack category as well. There are guard counters, new and unique parry abilities, horse combat etc. You can customize any standard weapon with whatever weapon art you want now. I could go on like this but I think you get the point. Once I got into...
Nah, ER is mechanically leaps and bounds beyond any game they’ve made. There are many valid arguments to be made about why bb, ds3 etc is better but that is not one of them. The breadth of control it gives is unmatched.

Sony wouldn’t try to buy activision duh
Wow it’s like gamers only read the snippet from the article and thought it was praising the game industry or something….. telling.
How about a mod to remove the cringe voice acting from ff7r(and most other modern games if I’m being honest), am I right?

I don't get it. Your statement is a contradiction. /s?

If true doesn’t help their optics. it’s corporate slimeball tactics.
It’s fine. You aren’t forced to get hit, you just didn’t learn good timing.

Meh. Typical gamerant clickbait. Plenty of soulslike with more overt narrative and story, sekiro Nioh etc. nothing new about it
