Looks pretty good, and it could be fun. MGO needs to take radar system used in cod4 though, or do a variation on it. Having players pop up on radar only when they fire or shot or when the uav is temporarily on adds so much to the game. For a stealth game like mgs it should be a must.
Just played though both demos. Its good but not great. Anyone who thinks its the best looking console game out needs glasses though. I've played gears, uncharted, heavenly sword, bioshock, cod4, lair, ratchet and mass effect and all those games looked way better.
The gameplay was classic dmc, and that was fine, but based on the early reviews I was expected to be blown away by the visuals like when i first played through gears, cod4 or uncharted and it was visually not even clo...

Thanks, if they're identical i'll go with the ps3. I played dmc1 and 3 w/the ps2 controler so it should be more comfortable with the ds3. It supports rumble too right?
Not to start a flame war here, dmc4 will be a day one purchase for me, but I own both consoles and I'm seriously clueless as to which version to get. I"m going to dl both demos tonight to compare, but does anyone have any links to non biased comparisons of the whole game?
If the demo is any indication, that just means both consoles get an equally crappy game. I played the turok demo right after a couple rounds of cod4 and I swear cod4 made turok look like a ps2 game.
It was in the jan 08 official ps magazine that mgs and mgso will be sold together in one package.
Agreed, I own both games and cod4 is better than halo in almost every possible way. The weapons are better, the graphics are better, the gameplay is better and the character customization take it to a whole other level. The cod4 single player is also way better too.

I don't know about that. From the achievements system in uncharted the type of tasks seemed to be identical to the ones used to get achievements in 360 games.
Of course the achievements naughty dog used in uncharted could be different from what sony has in mind, but I doubt it.
If thats the case why not just buy ff7 used on ebay or gamestop and play it on your ps3. You could probably get it for around $10, maybe even less.
I'm hoping only for a full blown remake similar to the ps3 trailer we all saw. the original game on psn would be nice for some, but nothing really exciting.
Same with me, i'm not a huge racing fan, but I've bought the last few gt games. I won't be buying prologue though. If it were downloadable at 15-20 maybe, but paying almost full price for a demo seems crazy to me.
Downside to marketing to casual gamers I guess is that casual gamers don't buy many games, and when they do buy games they're almost always the huge popular titles that are almost all from nintendo.
I haven't watched a second of g4 since my cablevision started carrying the gameplay hd channel. Its so much better.
It has game trailers, complete game walkthroughs, dev specials, tournaments and more all in 1080i with no annoying "tv personalities". And its all gaming all the time, no random cops marathons or cancelled sitcoms.
Both games are amazing. Gears is still my favorite 360 game (beating out bioshock by a hair) and uncharted is by far my favorite ps3 game, but I'd have to give the edge to gears if I had to choose. The atmosphere and story were much better imo
I'm with you on this one. It'd be nice to play a few times for nostalgia, but I doubt it'd be as fun as it was back in the day when it first came out, and I played TONS of goldeneye multiplayer w/my room from college.
Unless they drastically upped the frame rate and the visuals (which I doubt they would) I don't really see myself putting down the great online next gen fps games like cod4 or resistance to play goldeneye more than just a handful of times.
Don't worry about it not being on live yet, i downloaded the psn demo and the game is crap.
They said they didn't review the big guns like ff13, mgs4, ninja gaiden etc because the odds are so stacked that those games will get 9's and 10s that predicting a score is kind of pointless. More likely they didn't want to get burried in angry fanboy letters if they dared to give one of those "holy grail" type games less than a 9.
and btw, in what alternate universe is crackdown a aaa game? I have high hopes for infamous and if it turns out anything like the mediocre...
I was a casual mgs fan until the latest one. MGS3 is one of the best games of all time. I put it in my top 3 ever.
