yea, this game just screams mediocrity. It doesn't look like it will totally suck, but it seems so generic it may as well be called "no frills sci-fi fps".

umm, what games is this guy playing? gun toting anti-heros are the protagonists in almost every action game. I'm kind of sick of the "jaded bad ass" main characters. I prefer the regular guy heros, which is why drake from uncharted and the prince from the first prince of persia (not the sequels where they ruined him) were such a refreshing change of pace.
40+ hours in a game that came out yesterday? How is that possible? And I thought the game was 15-20 hrs long also.
It's close but i'd have to give the edge to bioshock over uncharted for best water effects. Both games look amazing though.
I think its because of the legacy. PDZ came from a line of the best console fps games of the previous gen. Goldeneye and the first perfect dark were both aaa titles and pdz wasn't even close to that level of quality.
I really don't get why people hate gamestop so much. Yea they rip you off with trade ins, but you can just sell your old stuff on ebay and get more money. I don't really have long conversations with their staff about games either, so I've never once encountered any bias.
Someone with the balls to say the their game will use the full specs of the ps3, instead of the "we're only using a small percentage of the power" line that we've heard from devs over and over on the first year ps3 games.

That's hilarious. I didn't even know they had that feature, but yes you can see all the games that the reviewer owns and he's got one ps3 game and 85 360 games. They may as well have had mart or pog do the review. What a complete joke.
Great point, assasins creed actually did all of the jumping FOR you, yet no mention of that being too easy by gamespot. What a bs review.
Since when was challenging enemy ai a bad thing? The enemies in drake have some of the best ai i've ever seen. They flank you, use cover well, use grenades tactically and exhibit different behavior based on what weapon they're using. I also found nothing wrong with the story, it had good pacing without getting too heavy on the cut scenes and all in all compares pretty well to your run of the mill summer action movie.

My favorite is the wii ad with the guy playing metroid and hiding behind his couch, then jumping out to fire at the screen. That and the look on his face while he does it cracks me up everytime.

True, thats how it should be, but we're so obsessed with numbers and bottom lines as a socitey it would never happen. Either way I've read enough about ME to see that its a game i'll probably enjoy and I'm picking it up first day tomorow.

It'd be totally unfair. The pc users would own. mouse+keyboard gives too much of an advantage. It'd be like nba players vs. the wheelchair league.
Like someone else had mentioned, this game had flop written all over it. I didn't buy into the hype for a second.
Fans of a game featuring bright green and purple aliens and a gun that shoots big pink bullets are calling uncharted too cartoonish looking. Thats priceless.
