Strange that the creator of a game with one of the best stories in recent memory would be the one to say this. I really don't get it. It'd be like winning the oscar for best director, the saying direction in movies doesn't matter.
I agree 100% with virus. mgs1 and 3 had great stories, 2 was still a good game, but the story was way over the top.
These are either really poor quality shots, or this game looks absolutely terrible. Probably a little of both.
Halo's staying power is all about the fanbase, not the quality of the game. Its a good game, but cod4 and ut are far better. Halo 2 built up a massive rabid fanbase being the first solid online console fps.
Yes millions will play it for years to come, but that doesn't mean its the best.

Yea I agree, the title of the article is totally misleading and just flat out irresponsible journalism. While I do agree that the confrontation with Ryan was dissapointing. The big "twist" that takes up the last few hours of the game was still entertaining, although not as interesting as the first portions of the game.

How are they evil for this? The hd dvd drive is now an obsolete piece of technology that no longer serves any purpose. It'd make no sense for them to pay money for something no one will want. You may as well get mad at them for not accepting betamax or 8 track trade ins.
I think heavenly sword is one of the most overrated games so far this gen. Yes the visuals are great at times, it had a good original plot, and the cut scenes feature some of the best acting in gaming, but the gameplay itself was extremely repetitive and got stale fast. I'm saying this also as a fan of similar games in the genre like dmc, ninja gaiden and god of war, all of which are much better games than hs.

online soul calibur will be crazy. I remember the first one on dreamcast with the entire floor of my dorm getting together to play/watch tournaments. If theres seamless no lag gameplay online i'll be hooked.
I dont know about that. The vast majority of the idiots I've encountered online on both live and psn were obviously underage based on their voices and language. It wouldn't get rid of all of them, but I'd say about 80% of the problem with respect to morons acting up online is the fact that they're just dumb immature kids. pc gaming isn't like this, and I think thats because online pc gamers tend to be older.

I love the mgs series, and mgs3 is in my top 5 games of all time, but the overarching story has always seemed kind of convoluted and thrown together. Hopefully mgs4 will do a better job of getting a clear concise plot together.

Not for me it wasn't. I bought the game expected it to just be good, in the 8.0 range. I've been surprised by just how great dmc4 really is. Its the best game in the series so far and a solid 9.0 in my book.

Funny, I actually forgot all about haze. It reminds me of lair with all the constant delays. I'd be surprised if it ended up being anything more than mediocre.
