I was one of the ones waiting for a lair demo too.. i got impatient and just rented it. Trust me its not worth the wait, even for a demo.
If the quake and unreal series are any indication, 3rd party fps maps are often better than the ones made by the devs themselves.
31 new maps is crazy, I'm seriously jealous of this. The reason I don't play cod4 on 360 as much as I used to is just that playing the same maps over and over got old.
Not really, it just means that dlc would add more high quality content to the game. Basically like adding more of the better portions of the game instead of just random sidequests that tend to be boring/repetative.
Kind of like how I didn't even come close to finishing 100% of all side quests on Obvlivion, but I still bought the expansion and enjoyed the newer better quality conent.

Anyone who refers to devs as "gaming geeks" and sees halo 3 as the biggest milestone in gaming this gen is clearly an outsider to the industry who has no real business writing an article like this.
Even without the extra content, uncharted is a classic in my book. Still the most underrated game of 2007 by far imo.
You don't get the keep the movies permanently on your hd when you download them on live do you?
I thought hd movies on live was more like a rental service than actually owning the movies.
I'm pretty sure they're talking about adding more actual content and not anything in game. Things like a family movie download section or more kid friendly downloadable content section. If thats the case then the a-holes on live wouldn't really be a factor since it'd have nothing to do with actual pvp online gaming.
I'm with you 100% man, Cloverfield was terrible. While it wasn't the absolute worst movie I've ever seen, it came damn close.
I honestly think in 10-15 years there will just be 4 or 5 huge studios that 99% of games will come from. It happened in movies music and tv, and gaming will probably fall next. EA will be like the rupert murdoch of the gaming industry in the end. I hope this isn't the case but it sure seems like it.
It seems minor but it makes a difference. Uncharted, motostorm and dmc4 especially benefit from the rumble.
Yea, same here, I picked mine up for $65 when people were out complaining about the import price. I'd say the extra 10 bucks was worth having it 3 months early.
Most games already have rumble. I've had an imported ds3 since they first released in japan and every one of my ps3 games has had rumble for a while.

They're two totally different games, so its not really fair to compare them. Resistance is better compared to halo or killzone or a game like that. Either way I'll be picking them both up, so I couldn't care less how one stacks up against the other, they'll both be awesome.
Sorry to break it to you but Lair was complete crap. Theres a reason it got the reviews that it did, and I'm glad I rented it before buying. I had sky high hopes for that game to be the first aaa title for my ps3 and it was a steaming pile of garbage. It had great visuals but thats it. Not only did it control like crap, the combat sucked, the gameplay was repetative as hell and the game had no structure to speak of. Only the most diehard blind sony fanboy at this point would stick up for that...
Funny, I don't even notice the lack of blood most of the time when I'm gaming. I also think more artistic games like heavenly sword are sometimes better off without blood. For fps games though blood is a must.
Whatever, believe it or not, not every black guy talks like an extra from Good Times. You didn't see the asian character in gears ordering up pork fried rice, and dom didn't have some retarded thick mexican accent.
I really don't care that much either way, gears was still a great game and it didn't "offend" me or whatever that the one black guy just happened to talk like a complete ghetto moron. I just found the character stupid and annoying. Thats all.
