No. Ouya stronk.
To be fair, Megaplaynate makes a good point.
I mean, most of us on here are not being hateful as feminists generally are when they attack games made about issues important to them from the perspective they disagree with.
Not my cup of tea, but if there are people out there who can enjoy it I don't see a problem with it. I just won't buy it. And that is the attitude feminists should politely extend in return.
Well, that hole they dug those copies of E.T out of needs filling with something...
Yet another idiot who thinks that his opinion is important in law enforcement without having any evidence to back it up.
Lol I expect about 2% of the attendants will actually be LGBTQ and the other 98% will be white knights and SJWs.
1: Children are too young to play Bioware games, and the article claims that "educating" them is a good thing
2: I don't have a problem with gay people. I have a couple of gay friends and they're just normal people. By making a big deal out of it, to those of us who already fully accept it, it makes. Bioware look childish and stupid, like atheism+ (Btw I'm an atheist...I've just got over myself).
3: LGBT people make up 5-7% of the po...
Statistics themselves don't ruin anything, and they can be used to see what we as a community enjoy playing (indeed they're our last line of defence against SJWs who want to use games as a tool to "educate" us rather than to simply entertain us as much as possible). Faulty analysis of data, however, most certainly can hurt games.
Surely using statistics to see what we actually want is the best way to ensure that the most people are happy though?
I mean sometimes that's going to work in your favour, and other times it's not.
The point is that the use of such a scientific approach is without a shadow of a doubt going to make the average gamer happier than they would be without it.
If there's a problem, I guarantee it's from faulty analysis (which happens...
*Games journalists, indie devs and the feminist holy orders which reside on Tumblr and don't even play games vs gamers.
Only the game news "industry" would attack its own customers so brazenly.
I mean McDonalds wouldn't change its menu to salads only and then start calling its customers stupid, ignorant fatties for almost unanimously protesting against the change.
Indeed, games journalism needs to grow up and join the real world. At present it seems half-stuck in a college social studies class.
Can't tell if the author is trolling or just deluded.
There's a popular misconception that 20-30% of the population are homosexual+bi whereas the true figure is closer to 5%.
I think Bioware writers may simply have failed to look at the data on the topic.
And there's no reason to create a fantasy world with more or less LGBT people unless this is tied into the backstory of the world in a big way.
That or they're trying to push the bleeding heart cause. I've actually had that vibe...
Bioware have a right to do that, and the hardcore fans over on their site tend to strongly support these sort of decisions.
I'm just not sure the mainstream players who don't use their Bioware accounts much will.
I mean I would actually have ordered it at £50 if it had better romance options for straight male inquisitors, but without these, I'm going to wait until it hits £30.
I'm sure it'll still be a great game, but it won't...
Before you donwnvote this upon reading the second paragraph, please wait until the conclusion, as I'm trying to be fair and balanced in this comment.
Let's use Mass Effect figures and say that 80% of players are going to be playing male characters. That narrows it down to 50% of the options open to 80% of the players.
We now take the figure that 2% of all men in Britain (and we're quite proud to be the most homosexual-friendly country in Europe ac...
All that's going to do is turn into an anti-free-speech group campaigning for more internet spying and IP logging.
In other words: more confirmation that Zoe Quinn is not "fighting the good fight" in any sense.
I completely agree with that last comment.
And thank you also for a constructive, thought-provoking discussion!
:)
Lol...the point about 300...Michael Fassbender's chiseled pecs...mind blown (not sarcasm).
Legally I think we're equal (perhaps slightly more in favour of women in the sense that men have to pay child maintenance even if the pregnancy was a complete accident), especially in the UK (couples can now share their maternity/paternity leave as they like; divorce settlements allow an equal share of assets, so women who *do* choose to stay at home are entitled to half of thei...
True, but I don't mind men being portrayed in that way (well, realistically muscly), as it gets me to the gym! Also, incredibly good looking men make a game visually more pleasant to play through (straight hetero man saying this).
That definition of feminism still doesn't indicate what type of social equality it means (equal happiness? Or are we condemning make-up use so that the interests of men and women become equal?)
But I'd take a counter-sta...
Let's say I agree about "feminist" meaning "supporter of gender equality" (though etymologically, it cannot, in absolute terms). The problem is that "equality" exists on many levels: are we talking of opportunity? Outcome? Culture?
I mean if equality means equality of happiness than I'm a radical feminist, but if it means equality of culture then I'm a radical anti-feminist (I mean what's wrong with socially constructed gender binaries if ...
Surely exclusively gay homosexual characters provide less choice than bi characters?
And they aren't "representing diversity" very well when IRL only 5-7% of people are LGBT. I'm still irritated that the straight males who make up the majority of the playerbase have as many choices as gay and lesbian players both, despite this group making up 5-7% of the population *combined*.
They're free to do what they want, but they're not "...
