Because the people asking for female characters either:
A: Don't buy/play a lot of games, or
B: Are a highly vocal minority.
For the rest of us, female characters aren't going to fix a bad game.
Personally, I used to enjoy female characters as much as male, but now I feel like I need to be a counterbalance to the feminists demanding them like entitled little brats, so that devs can choose freely, without being overly-...
As a virile young man who can count several conquests to his name, I must disagree with your comment...
...No harm in having several more, virtual or otherwise ;)
In all fairness, the game looks pretty awful.
Here's my attempt to justify the author of this article's suspicions to feminist atheists.
For those of us who are not feminists, we feel about strong female characters how you feel about playing games with Christian themes. The intent may genuinely not be to push the relevant beliefs, but it is hard to enjoy something when you have the suspicion that it is.
The less vocal feminists get, the less uneasy we feel when playing these games, and so the mor...
Feminists are the ones who made it this way, by rubbing every female character in the faces of those who disagree with their cause.
I used to have no problem with female characters, but now I question whether they have been shoehorned in to appease feminists.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't shake this feeling. When the feminists shut up, the rest of us might be able to enjoy female characters again. Ironically, the feminists win when they stop telling pe...
This article is ridiculous.
If anything, hype leads to over-expectation, and disappointment (see Peter Molyneux and his Fable games), while a lack thereof leads to lower expectations and pleasant surprises.
It's the other way around.
Another grovelling white male trying desperately to sleep with feminists.
See, I get female feminists: they're just greedy. Fair enough. Male feminists, however, are either duplicitous, or idiotic tools manipulated by progressives.
It might decrease if we start treating pirates like scum.
Two problems:
A: Over my dead body will I fund socialist crap like this
B: His accent is screwed up; I'm British, and I've never met anyone who speaks like that.
Female character = OK
Feminist themes accompanying her = Not OK
Let's hope Ubisoft do this right, and don't grovel before the feminazis on this one.
You mean all you care about is a female character?
Not, you know, game mechanics and plots which aren't stale, and actually move forward at a reasonable pace?
I guess some people are easy to please.
Well the feminists seem to live by the motto
"If in doubt, blame men!"
But feminism isn't responsible for this. I actually think that *this* is responsible for a lot of the male support that feminism receives (technology addiction).
Boycott Konami. Drive their miserable company into the ground.
Even better: how about they just make a really awesome fresh IP with new features set in Japan, using the free-running mechanic, but not being "Assassin's Creed"?
Oh wait, this is Ubisoft we're talking about.
For the love of god, keep that arrogant SJW away from Star Wars. I'd love a new Star Wars RPG, but let some other writer do it.
The best way to fight free speech is to intentionally abuse it.
Don't give this game any money, or attention, as it seems quite clear that no matter what the devs are trying to do, it is not positive.
They strive on bad PR from non-gamers, not from their fans.
Only Paradox Interactive and CD Projekt seem to be truly mod-friendly these days.
Rockstar deserve bad PR for making their terms of service anti-consumer.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but while 98% of FIFA players don't care about this at all, the other 2% will just be trying to pump out a nude mod :p
What I cannot understand is why these big companies are listening to feminists, who really are a very vocal minority who do not even buy these games.
