You should not have reported that post. This website is not your safe space.
I found the joke funny. You can find it funny and still feel sorry for the poor boy.
It's called dark humour, and nobody "calls for it" - that's sort of the point.
@rainslacker
Your stats are wrong. Those figures include mobile games like Candy Crush, and do not take account of how many games people actually buy.
Seriously guys, stop scrolling down. Take a break from the Internet and do something else for a while. All you see down here are seedy folk trying to get agrees by posting poor attempts at witty comments.
I don't play online games, but perhaps this is a complete misinterpretation? I would imagine that trolls will decide they want to troll and then seek ammo, rather than the other way around.
For people who don't expect trolling, this is a problem. But saying that "for women, games are hell" is like saying "for people from Kazakhstan, games are hell" (I can't imagine how many Borat torments they get hammered with). It's simply not accurate....
She's like Hitler.
You should become a priest. Though I don't know if the Catholic Church accept trolls into their ranks, so you may very well be out of luck.
Devs can do what they like, but I will not buy SJW games.
The best games do not tell stories, but allow you to tell your own. That generally means choosing your own protagonist.
Which is what is so stupid about this article. You can have gay protagonists in Bioware games, Skyrim, Crusader Kings 2, Fallout 4, and assume the protagonist is gay in games without any romantic themes (and there are a lot of these).
So no, you won't get a better story by having gay protagonists. Most people don't want a fresh p...
It's a mod ffs. People criticising it are as bad as SJWs.
Not my cup of tea, but each to their own.
Feudal Japan perhaps...but they could certainly go with Meiji Japan.
You have no evidence for any of that.
It's tongue-in-cheek. If you understood the joke, you would not see it as embarrassing.
The concerning thing about peer review is that it requires competent "peers".
Academia is no longer the bastion of reason it once was. Some fields are better than others, of course.
No, no, no.
A study CANNOT say that video games *over*-sexualise characters.
It can say that they sexualise them, but judgment on whether this is a good or bad thing (over or under) is outside the remit of of science; it is nothing more than an opinion by a faux-academic using whatever flimsy credibility they have to push their dogmatic prejudices.
We need to get angry. We need to complain. We need to be relentless in our criticism of companies which pander to SJWs.
These are the tactics they they use, and they are our only hope for defeating them. We are living in the age where the Tweet is mightier than the pen.
This will only get worse if we let it slide.
Games aren't supposed to be "fair". They are supposed to indulge the fantasies of their target market.
If people want sex toys in their fantasies, what's the problem? Seriously, all you're doing is explaining your own arbitrary biases on the matter.
I have no great love of "sex object" female characters myself (they're a bit bland); but if others want that, who on Earth are we to tell them otherwise? Just let people hav...
When feminists decided to make it so.
Poor guy. Good to see he's making the best out of his terrible circumstances.
