Anita Sarkeesian is a professional troll. She is responsible for turning many gamers against feminism.
Predictable to be honest. Most "AAA" games these days just seem like Assassin's Creed in a new coat.
You played a pre-release version, hence why it isn't optimised yet.
Optimisation tends to be the very last thing devs do, once they have their features complete (so they know what they need to optimise for).
And then there are patches which will fix any remaining concerns post-release.
I'm not concerned. Music is 50% of any Final Fantasy game, so if they nail that and the game is playable (unlike XIII which was unbelievably boring), it'll be great.
To be honest, these complaints don't seem all that big of a deal.
They made a proactive choice to select their setting.
Nobody would have complained if we just had a 1930s New York Italian mafia game, but with new features, better graphics, and a great plot.
Or if they wanted somewhere fresh, they could have taken the game to Sicily and used the actual Italian mafia.
But they chose a contentious setting. They chose to inject controversial politics into their game.
This is why I'm not buying it.
I hope so.
When I was younger, I always used to think that difficult experience in games would make me a tougher person, less likely to get shocked by life's tumults. I can't say if it worked or not.
How realistic. 10/10 commitment to accuracy.
The Arabian Peninsula: land of gender equality.
The definition according to the OED: "a person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions.".
Etymologically, it emerged from the French insinuating that the Normans were religious hypocrites. Having its basis in faith, the word solely refers to people holding different opinions. Intolerant is a bit broader, as it comes from the Latin "tolerare" (to endure), hence it can be used to refer to anyone who refuses to "endure" things t...
Problem 4: SJWs shoehorning their ideology into games by forcing devs into straitjackets.
I prefer male characters myself. I find it far easier to immerse myself because the fact is that identity is inextricably linked to gender.
I don't mind the odd female character like Lara Croft, but she should have flaws like any good character, and not be a Mary Sue.
Perhaps rather than deciding that everything which doesn't fit one's worldview is a "problem", thought should first be given to why the status quo exists (without jumpi...
Well Quantum Break is coming to Steam.
I suppose it depends on how well it does on the Windows store. I.e. if it's a flop there, it'll come to Steam to pick up sales.
It's only libel if it is a false statement of fact. Opinions cannot be libel.
Basically, if something cannot be factually proven incorrect, it cannot be libel.
This studio doesn't have a leg to stand on legally.
The game was overhyped to oblivion.
That does not mean it's a bad game - it just isn't as good as people imagined it would be.
It is an OK indie game, and could be a lot better if more content is added and the game is made to play better in reaction to feedback.
Gameplay looks great, but the story and characters are probably going to suck like in DA:I.
Let's avoid overhyping it, so it doesn't become No Man's Sky 2.
SJWs think women should be treated like children, so would be deeply triggered by this.
The story is only going to be boring like that of Unity and Syndicate.
They are not liberals. They are progressives. Liberalism involves letting people do what they want, and tolerating that. Progressives seek to "fix society" by telling people what they should think, say, or do.
The people opposing Sarkeesian are liberals.
