Perhaps when you grow out of childhood, you'll come to understand this yourself.
For video games, revenue is profit (after fixed costs have been covered), because the marginal cost of producing one more copy is zero (devs just copy and paste in effect).
Steam games do sell a lot, but I doubt as much as consoles (except in some cases). And yes, PC gamers don't play a lot of the games they buy, so each gamer probably spends as much as console gamers, but on more games, many of which they won't play :p
The problem with PC gaming ...
Why do you insist on being so nasty?
You're a nerd too.
And why do you think PC gamers are going to pick up a PS4? It's not going to happen. And as someone who has tried the HTC Vive I can tell you it's great fun, but VR is nowhere near ready to take over from traditional games; not until the resolution and lens quality improve drastically, which is going to require graphics chips which won't be out for a couple of years at least.
I used to be a Playstation fanboy until I was...
I cannot for the life of me work out why people feel inclined to spend money on games they have to squint at their phones to see.
If you're travelling, you can read news on your phone, browse social media, or text, all of which are far easier than starting and stopping games which drain your battery. I have a tablet, and I hate playing games on that, for the screen is small, and the controls poor. It's better just to spend the time you would have spent on news/texti...
But it isn't sexist at all. It's a game aimed at male players, giving them what they want. A masculine protagonist and scantily clad women. This is no more sexist than a homosexual man refusing to have sex with women is sexist. If *not* being bisexual is sexist, then 97% of us are sexist, and the word loses all meaning. It's a game, and one which tries to appeal the the fantasies of an adult male. There are dating sims out there aimed specifically at women, and they appeal to thei...
Unbelievable. It's 2016, not 1216, prude.
Being vigilant is not the same as taking offence.
There was a time when SJWs were the only intolerant ones, and the rest of us just sat by and tried to reason with them, refusing to stoop to their level. We offered them peace in exchange for respect. But they would not have it.
And now they have invaded Poland. We have a clear conscience. We had done all that any people could do to establish peace. But the situation has become intolerable, and we must all play our part.
The truth is that this tweet was dis...
It's important we know which studios to boycott. When the Chinese Room apologise for being intolerant, perhaps they'll win back the customers they upset.
Time to boycott The Chinese Room and not fund their bigotry. I was going to buy Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, but not going to happen now. I hope they go bust.
The CDProjekt devs are far more talented than them anyway.
When was the last time you played a WW2 shooter? And yet you're "sick" of them how exactly?
So it seems we get to play as the Germans this time in the campaign! Now this is an innovative change I'm looking forward to seeing. I really hope they do well to convey the sheer despair of the Eastern Front collapse.
But why should women be encouraged to go into technical fields if they don't want to? See, this is where you cross the line from limiting employment discrimination (a reasonable objective), and venture into social engineering, where you destroy gender roles for no apparent reason other than some pious obsession with "equality" for the sake of equality because you personally believe that equality is the only source of happiness. This is very politically contentious, and there'...
Unless you play multiplayer games with obnoxious 12 year olds, there actually isn't: quite the opposite actually.
So what? Should we start physically forcing women into game design?
Or scrape the gutter for recruits? Stupid SJW article.
Pathetic.
Perhaps, but it hasn't aged well. I went back and played 4 and 6 for the first time and loved them. But I only got a couple of hours into 7 before quitting due to boredom and a strong dislike of the visuals.
I'd take Final Fantasy 6 over Assassin's Creed Syndicate and The Division any day.
As always, it depends on the game. And as someone with an economics degree, CliffyB's logic is meaningless, as it's not backed up by data, and doesn't reflect detailed consumer breakdowns; it's just his opinion (telltale sign was when he said "we can't change Japan" as if we would want to in the first place.
