Everyone thinks the first FF they played was the best.
I tried playing VII once, but the poor graphics forced me to stop. I'm excited for the remake though - perhaps I'll be able to see what those who worship the game do.
I played VI two months ago. It's the best 2D FF, but IX (which I'm playing through now) is much better.
I cannot comment on VII for I haven't played it.
It's not supposed to be a big deal, but it's funny nonetheless.
Radical egalitarians ("SJWs") are bigots.
By definition, they are bigots. You see, a bigot is someone who refuses to tolerate (endure the existence of) those with different beliefs.
I am a bigot if I say "games with theme X should not exist". I am not a bigot if I say "games with theme X are not for me, but I accept their right to exist".
Just making that clear. To add further clarity:
&q...
Gay characters are not a problem if they are included for story or artistic reasons. Gay characters are a problem if they are included to try and "teach the bigots a lesson".
Fake news
No, if any kind of thinking is "toxic" it is this: i.e. the belief that the very thoughts of other people can be toxic in the first place.
Attack helicopters are underrepresented.
Why are devs interested in pandering to 1.1% of people? What was the point of bringing up "non-binary" players? 1% were probably white supremacists, so should they be pandered to?
However if the data is good, then the conclusions regarding female gamers are interesting. Though making assumptions about protagonist choices does not follow logically from the data as it exists.
No.
Professional trolls are "concerned", yes. Normal people? Not bothered.
"Should it have been a # FF game"
Why not?
Final Fantasy has to move forward in time, and that means using today's tech to make battles more involved.
What is a "Final Fantasy title"? I'm sure you have a different idea to I.
I've always hated the turn-based combat in FF games (it's outdated at this point anyway, like tactical combat in WRPGs); I play them for the music, world and characters.
Final Fantasy XIII is awful.
It's a corridor game with bland combat. The only thing it has going for it is good music.
"we don't live in a world where discussing these issues isn't necessary"
Of course we do. It is not necessary to discuss anything. Nor should discussions of anything be off the table.
But every game cannot be the same discussion which matters more to you than anything else. That would ruin ideological diversity in games.
Games are art. Art must reflect the idea that the creator seeks to convey. It allows us to view the...
Games exist to entertain players and as a form of expression for the creators. Therefore, nothing objectively "matters" beyond player enjoyment and artistic expression of the devs.
If devs want to make a huge effort to represent minorities, they should go ahead and do that. If devs don't then they don't have to. If players want minority characters, devs can make more money by including them.
Games do not exist to promote our moral views ...
Solution: don't buy this game. Censorship like this can not be supported.
Same with the Witcher 3 free content.
If you were willing to buy the game without it, then it is free DLC, because it is adding extra value to something you have bought without there being any legal necessity for its provision.
Never used one myself, but when you think about it, it's really only our closed mindedness which makes us see it as odd. There's no logical reason why children should colour things in and why adults should not.
Apparently some people find them therapeutic. If it helps people relax then good for them.
What problem?
Seriously, why do influential people keep listening to the whine and moan brigade?
For normal, well-adjusted people, there's no such thing as "VR harassment".
