Well, i have similar sentiments as Red_Devilz. I was a big fan of Age Of Empires III. Then i remember buying CIV4, cost me like €50, the physical version since i had no internet at the time and only a ridiculously low-spec PC that could only, barely, play strategy games like AoE and Championship/Football Manager.
I remember when i started and it was like this huge map and the whole turn-based aspect and i was so dissapointed since i hated Turn-based games. I thought this was another A...
Nice read.
Guys seem really genuine, really big fan of them as developers, both for their principals and the great games.
Actually its weird when i say that considering they only made two. The Witcher games have the feel of a game that mature and experienced developers made, yet its only their first games which is remarkable really.
Fallout 3.
Like one guy said already, cant imagine playing another game as much as i played that.
Demon Souls.
What a breath of fresh air that was when i played it. It was like 'this was the game ive been dying to play for years but didnt know it'.
Nicely summarized.
I loved the trailer, of course, but the highlight for me was the top down view of the mountain. All i could think of was all the times i pushed and pushed up the mountain in San Andreas with my little bike only for those few crazy seconds of going down again. Now i get to do it with that beast of a mountain.
Actually got back into Borderlands 2 recently, i was so long away from it i forgot which was my best weapons and lost the ability to judge items at a glance, now im going back and forth comparing stuff.
I played Borderlands when it released and hated it. Got it free on PS+ said i'd give it another go and like you i started a new character and then loved it. Finished that and bought BL2 in a steam sale and now its my most played game on steam.
Borerlands...
Completely agree.
Good game by itself but very poor game in relation to the series, in particular the classic that is Bioshock 1.
As for great games so far this year... Tomb Raider was a very solid game, kinda took aspects from all the good 3rd person games of this gen.
Far Cry 3, if you could include it, would be mine. Fantastic and gorgeous game, terrible story and worst protagonist ever. Still, on gameplay it was brilliant fun.
Still yet to play Ni...
Yeah i tend to use GMG now and then, really good site. I remember they did a brilliant Bioshock Infinite preorder deal, where i got Bioshock 1, Civ 5, Xcom and i think Spec Ops: The Line too.
I also use CJS CDkeys too, i tend to get most new releases at almost half-price there on release.
I am and i aint looking forward to this Steam sale, there is certain games im after but im still worried about my huge backlog. Oh the horrors of being a gamer...
Arrrghhhh!
Theres games like Metro Last Light, FEZ, Torchlight 2, The Swapper, COJ: Gunslinger to name a few that i want to play and get on sale. But my backlog is just too much, yet its so hard to resist a good bargain. Like, even those games above would be plenty but i still know that im going to see great bargains on other games and create some twisted logic in my head to justify buying them, yet being aware deep down that there's a good chance i wont play half of the games i b...
Well actually PES does make massive changes every year, you cant fault them for that. BUT... sometimes those changes dont work out too well.
Heres the way i see it, and I've said this in a million pes/fifa posts, FIFA looks and sounds like a real football game but it is actually very shallow on gameplay and, thanks to the sales, they play it safe every year, making minute changes but declaring them as "revolutionary".
PES on the otherhand, looks weird, p...
Thanks man. Tried both of them but didn't really like it, tiling never really looks right to me.
I actually tried the single image in the center of the screen and its not too bad actually, but just for the sake of filling out my screen i might blend in a throne to one side and maybe that popular image of the hand holding up a golden crown on the other side. Or maybe a wolf & dragon.
Thats very well done, i would love to get a widescreen version to use as a wallpaper, man i just love it.
I love the show and currently reading the 5th book, its such a great story. I know they recently made a game based on it but it was pretty bad as expected.
But i would love if Rockstar made a Game Of Thrones game in the vain of Red Dead Redemption. They would be the only guys who could do it, because it would have to be open-world and they handle mature themes gre...
I stopped getting too excited for PES a few years ago as i was usually disappointed, but yeah, i cant help it this year especially since i actually enjoyed a lot of last years game, as flawed as it was.
Anyway, i paused it at 2.00, just before the ball hits the net as i wanted to read the information then watch the clip, but i noticed Arsene Wenger in the background, not even messing, pause it at 2.00 and see for yourself.
Not a bad list at all and i definitely agree with No.1, Dark Souls is my favorite game from this generation and up there among my all time favorite.
Glad Witcher 2 is also there.
One thing i didnt agree with is the lack of Fallout 3, i think Fallout NV was a great game and did so many things better with the gameplay but Fallout 3 just blew me away at the time, it was the complete rpg for me.
"It is my personal opinion that the DS4 has the nicer aesthetics as I firmly believe that the ONE's controller resembles a brick (this is MY opinion, I know some people won't agree so apologize if I offended you)."
If people actually get offended by something like that then they need to take a good long hard look at themselves in the mirror. Then headbutt that mirror.
Completely agree.
When i first played Demon Souls it was such a breath of fresh air. I played it two years after it released only because i wanted to see how hard it was, i actually thought the game would be crap, i had a completely different picture of it in my head.
Oh how wrong was I. Those two games are absolute masterpieces and like dragonknight said up top, for me this IS the greatest series this generation and up there among my favorite games ever.
Its ...
Yeah same here, i was actually wondering would he say "Marco".
Glad you understand what i was trying to say.
What i meant by saying "aggrieved" was that i agreed with what you seen as flaws in the game, but they didn't affect my general view of the game as they did you. Basically they didn't bother me as much.
People don't understand that either. A guy will give his reason for giving such scores and a guy will say "Thats not good enough reason". Well like i said above, people are different...
"Should"?, Neither.
But i will buy BF4 and not COD. I used to play COD but havent since Bad Company 2. Nothing got to do with the quality of those games rather i prefer the more slow-paced and open warfare of Battlefield., opposed to the quick paced close quartered style of COD.
Cant wait for BF4, i had such crazy moments with BF3 and put insane amount of hours into it, even as flawed as it is.
And for free too, man i love these guys as developers.
Anyway, a good excuse to hop into Witcher 2 again. Then again i might wait until about a week or two before Witcher 3 as my backlog is getting ridiculous.
Good, i dont mind a bit of co-op, but like most guys said, some games dont need it.
For me Witcher is a pure single-player experience like most rpg's, roaming around, considering paths, talking to people, buying stuff etc... generally an easy-going and immersive experience which would be broken with someone tagging along.
For me co-op is suited for when you have a clear path or goal, like go thru the cave and fight the boss at the end, actually perfect example wo...
