I'm primarily a PC gamer (Heck I don't even own a console from this current gen) and I was happily surprised at the PS4 announcement, never thought it would be that powerful, this is only good for us PC gamers cause finally we will be able to see some actual increase in fidelity of games. My PC is more powerful then the PS4 but how does that matter when no games are developed for my hardware but rather for 7 year old ones. No, there's great times a head of us indeed, for all gamer...
I think it's meant more like "Next Gen Games will look like current gen CGs" - I.E the next gen games will look like the cinematics did this gen. Which judging from what we've seen so far seems to be correct.
(the debate above about whether the next gen consoles will smack PCs is just stupid, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN, I can get a graphic card for my PC today which would cost the same as two PS4s, computer power doubles every 18 months, with a life cycle of 7 year...
Gabe Newell is the only big shot I've heard who actually gets it, he believes that piracy is a product of poor legal options, and HE'S RIGHT! 1 pirated game doesn't translate to 1 lost sale, the ease and the good service Steam provides makes pirating obsolete, whoever pirates a game more often than not would never get the game unless pirating it wasn't available. (Steam - In a sense Valve, is a developer, publisher and a distributor^^). There's a reason Valve and Gabe is s...
You're right they're not legitimate journalists ^^ Though few are in this day and age, it's sad that the neutrality of the press have gotten worse in later years :/
Lol you don't think the GDDR5 can preform general memory tasks? Cause they can, just cause there's no retail GPU which utilizes 8 GB of RAM doesn't mean it's impossible for it to be so. The PS4 shares the memory between the GPU and CPU and went for the GDDR config not to bottleneck the GPU. -_-
Lol And I thought I was a nerd O______O
It's not just mashed together. Let's talk about it in terms more easily understandable.
Let's say normally you would have CPU (Central Processing Unit) and a GPU (Graphical Processing Unit). These would be separate, the CPU would connect through a Socket on your Motherboard while the GPU would be part of a Graphics Card which would connect to the motherboard through a PCIE port.
In an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) These two (GPU/CPU)would be o...
Well considering MGS GZS is going to feature an older Big Boss "Richard Doyle" (who did the voice for the old Big Boss in MGS4) could probably do it and it would still fit. Though I agree, not having Hayter doing Snake would be sad. The title on this is very misleading though, Hayter haven't said anything about not doing the voice.
YEAH WTH HAPPENED TO CRASH?
Nintendo did a serious mistake not releasing the console with a AAA first party game (Mario, Zelda, Metriod etc). Had that been the case the console would sell like hotcakes!
Console games are already 100$ in Sweden (with today's exchange rate)
This guy gets way to much attention, on top of that he got some pretty shitty thoughts on things. It's not only about business - well it shouldn't be at least. It's about what's feasible and fair, and companies like vale certainly isn't Only about making money, if that was the case they would've milked the half life cow, which they don't. People like Gabe and Notch run their "businesses" cause they enjoy what they do and to go around is the important thin...
People who initially will buy a PS4 have had a PS3 for several years, it wont affect the sales of PS3 that much to be honest!
Well it's pretty obvious that Gametrailers do favour the Xbox but that has rather to do with it being American and the US is the only region which the Xbox is actually bigger than the PS and Nintendo.
Finally, they explained a few things here that so many people don't seem to understand! There's a difference between In-game (in-engine) real time rendering and pre-rendered cut scenes. And this is obviously in-engine real time rendered, it doesn't matter if it's not playable or gameplay cause that's not important. The fact that it's not CGI or pre-rendered is what's important about this "Deep Down" demo. Just discard whether it's gameplay or not. Whe...
This is kinda stupid. There's a false misconception that with higher graphical fidelity comes longer production times, when the fact is that the tools to make games develops too to make games easier to make - this is something Epic constantly talks about with their Unreal4 engine for instance.
Like so many have already said, what the heck is the problem? Who uses CDs or even DVDs now a days? It's ancient with much more competent media providers/services available (Spotify, Netflix etc). And even pirating - which is so widely spread cause it offers a better and more accessible way of getting/using media then CDs and DVDs (something the big companies seem to completely miss so they continue to dig their own grave rather than change with technology)
You don't only use programs to see how a GPU performs, you mostly use actual game testing, there's no "cheating" there. It's actually more likely the other way around cause there's been some controversy about some benchmarking programs actually favouring nvidia, hence it not giving proper results. I suggest you read up on it a bit first!
Lol they've been able to clock PC CPUs higher than for 10 years, as already stated though clock speed doesn't have to mean anything.
My SB i7 2600k at 3,5 Ghz would perform better than yours at the same clock speed... You really are stupid or something
lol.. analist... O_____O
