That's a much better solution, they should come up with better business ideas if they want to make more money, don't restrict consumers! I'm all up for that!

@Mika. Well you're wrong. There's actually been studies of this.. Yes so we got FACTS.

Blocking used games sales would cut profits by 10% unless there's an incentive to lower the cost of the games by 30% which would actually increase income by 19%.. So yeah. Also it's not about being selfish. It's about the fact that in no other business does a manufacturer demand that resale of their goods would gain them profits. If I buy a used Ford car Ford won't g...

I think much of it is whether there's an educated consumer or not answering those polls. Even people with interests in gaming doesn't know half of it. They tend not to critically look at a product and rather just swallow any marketing as a whole.

Educated (in the sense of reading up on gaming systems) probably leans more towards the PS4 while an uninterested market with uneducated consumers would lean more towards the xbox. They see that you can flicker through chann...

I'm just saying, if you honestly believe all 15 will be released within 12 months of launch you probably haven't been around very long.. unless most of them are smaller types of games, Kinect based etc.

So don't hold your breath

We got all right to complain what ever they put up on stage at E3!

When revealing a product you define what that product is through the first impression. XboxOne was defined as a TV and entertainment box which also can play games. It's a clear shift of focus. Stop calling people haters cause they criticize the direction Microsoft moved the Xbox. If you're a gamer you should be nothing BUT WORRIED with how Microsoft presented their new console. Don't you understand...

You don't understand what "the cloud" is do you? It's essentially just offloading data to servers rather than having it done locally. Gaikai is not as much about servers as it is about a company that developed an efficient low latency way to send data over the internet. None of this matters though cause:

Cloud computing are years off, and if it'll become a thing then it wouldn't be a match for Sony to offload computing to servers.. Hell my telephone ...

What are you talking about? Architecturally we've always known them to be quite similar? The PS4 do have the better preforming hardware though. This isn't really news.

Only the controller has started being manufactured so far from what I've heard. Could be wrong though.

"The cloud" is no magical thing that automatically makes hardware better. The infrastructure needed to benefit from cloud computing is just not there yet. Don't rely on the cloud to make up the difference, it's not feasible.

Someone who apparently knows some people from inside Sony said that they were on the fence on whether to include any DRM or not, since MS got so much backlash they were now leaning strongly towards not implementing any. So tweeting what we expect from a Sony console kinda forces their hands unless they don't want to loose enormous amounts of face.

The publisher argument is also invalid. Yeah like they would drop at least 50% of their revenue just cause the PS4 can play us...

There's some great things about the EU. Like if a company tries to screw its citizen they'll just ban importing that product. Microsoft have to listen to them or they'll loose a market of half a billion people!

Cloud computing is years away from being a reality. And how to implement this when the internet infrastructure is so uneven? Would you see games with "Only for 8 mbit connections and up"? Resources like polygons, particles, textures all need to be local.

I too got an expensive high end PC that silicon to silicon would beat any upcoming consoles ass in pure muscle. HOWEVER

My PC wasn't made to be a gaming machine. It's a resource hog for things better left to a game. I'm even unsure whether I've actually even played a game that utilize more than 2 GB of RAM, or more than 2 Cores, I've never seen a game built with DX11 from ground up.. Do you see the pattern?

I don't even own a console,...

Aye!

I've been a PC gamer my whole life and I spend a lot of money on my PC. I get that it's not feasible to compare a platform (PC) which is ever evolving to one (Console) that is essentially stuck in time - There's also the fact that a console need to be economically defensible

Also.. What the heck, COD is using a terrible engine, the new one just being an update of the same engine used since 2005...

Would they though.. really? I mean how many devices doesn't already do what X1 does? And let's mention cable and satellite TV, two forms which are being replaced by streaming services. So already is the X1 out of touch with where the living room is going. Microsoft is really betting on a loosing horse, hell even a dying one, it's slowly decaying on the starting line.

That's no different from last (well current) generation!

4621d ago 6 agree0 disagreeView comment

Remember one thing:

Yes Sony has said that it's up to the publisher. That however is no different to what was at the PS3 where publishers also decided what they wanted to do. The main difference between Xbox and PS4 is that Microsoft is apparently building its system being able to block games while Sony wont implement it on a system level but gives publisher the right to put it in on a software wise (just like this current gen). Unless Sony unveils something different th...

I'm sharing your concerns! I'm hopeful the EU will have something to say about this (they're usually pretty good at defending consumers). I'm sure it's against some EU trade regulations!

4621d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well we all realize it, you however misunderstand what it means!

A product reveal is where you define the product, to make it desirable for your intended demographic. Where you set the tone and focus of it. Microsoft PR knows this yet they didn't show more than 10% gaming related content. This speaks for the console changing direction from Games to Entertainment which is terrible for people who rely on Xbox as a gaming machine.

E3 doesn't matter to be h...
