What are you, some sort of troll? Go back to Open Zone.
That's strange. I heard from a few of my friends on the 360 saying the rifles were overpowered. Oh well, I'm about to see for myself. They did say the PC beta has some tweaks that came from the console testing after all. I'm not sure where you get this whole idea about spawn camping never happening in Call of Duty 4 though :)
You should get an email with your key still.
Complain to EA, they published it for the consoles. Valve is more interested in the PC market, the immense success it's had on PC and therefor the user base that needs supported there.
True. I don't think building a computer and setting it up has ever been easier, even with the massive range of hardware you can buy. If you got a buddy that can stand by your side and knows what they're doing, you can pretty much learn how to build a PC in a day.
This is awesome news. I was really looking forward to this but began losing hope. I've been hoping for another Max Payne ever since the second, but I guess it's good they're trying new things instead of milking out the franchise.
And on the outdated graphics subject, I don't know where some people are getting that from. The ones in all the galleries out there are one or two years old and they still look awesome. Add any polishing that might be there now, and I'd probably qualify ...
4870's and 280GTX's are capable of pulling over 40fps in Crysis at 2560x1600. Add SLI or Crossfire, and you can get over 60.
"The level is currently reported to run at 5fps on his machine."
5fps on HIS machine. His computer specs aren't listed. For all we know, it could run fine on a high-end computer.
I love thrillers/horror games set in cold environments.
I'm going to disagree. I bet you don't.
It's not easy to squeeze two GPUs onto one PCB next to all the memory and other essentials. Single GPU cards today are already way larger than anything we've seen before. (on a consumer level) Not to mention cooling three or more cores could become a real problem. Just look how huge the 4780 X2 cooler is, as well as the card itself. Some experts think going multi-core-anything, is the wrong direction in the interest of technology progression.
I've seen gametype made for other multiplayer games, and some map creators go as far to try and find ways to entertain the people in the cells with stupid stuff to mess around with.
"The level that id showed last time was only a race track and it had around 20GB worth of textures. What do you think those 20GB were?"
20 gigs of textures that are just as possible without the Megatexture. Probably uncompressed too.
I hope that's not the only example you have. Megatexture is just there to avoid any need to use in-game loading or precached textures. The only way it effects the game visually is that we wont be witnessing any missing textures like we see in the beginning of games in GTA IV or Gears of War. The megatexture system doesn't offer any improvements in texture image quality.
idTech5 doesn't have any large improvements in graphics in the engine itself. Emphasis on graphics were made from idTech3 to 4. The only reason Rage looks so much better than previous idTech4 games (Doom 3) is because hardware has become so much faster since then. If ID was to rebuild Doom 3 today, it wouldn't look too far from Rage in terms of detail, even if it was still on idTech4.
idTech5 still has nothing on Cryengine2 in terms of graphics technology.
Hahaha, nice.
Maybe we're not all here to defend Crysis. Maybe you're the only one here dumb enough to think Crysis has already been beaten in terms of graphics. Maybe... just maybe.
Well said. I always felt Prostreet just seemed like trash next to Codemaster's GRID.
I used the transformation pack way back in the day when it was released before Vista. I had absolutely no problems. Although with SP3 and all, it might not work so smoothly these days.
What kind of console rig you need for this to happen? Let me guess. Oh wait, you can't.
