Yeah, it's 32. At least as what I've seen from playing it on my computer. I wouldn't know about the PS3 version.
"Guys question if Gears of War for the pc is made with the unreal engine could i export objects and information from it into the UT3 mod design tools? (Critical question if so will i be able to export it to ps3?)"
I don't really know how the mods are actually getting to the PS3 as I haven't really been following that, but meshes, textures, and probably even entire levels from Gears of War can be implemented in UT3 on PC if desired. Or vice versa. They were built on al...
He's not talking about FPS-anything. He's talking about the gamespeed. Unreal Engine can easily have everything changed in speed through a decimal or percentage. It's like speeding up or slowing down the rate of a movie. That's not the same thing as frames-per-second. If you have Unreal Tournament for PC, all you have to do is type "slowmo" followed by a decimal in the console. There's no reason to doubt it doesn't work in UT3 or Gears of War for PC.
Ahhhh, yeah. As soon as I heard about Activision and Blizzard merging to help each other dominate all ends of the market, the first thing I thought was: EA Killer. Haven't been watching it too closely, but I'm clearly not alone :)
Hopefully this will help put the pressure on EA to change their prospective and to raise their standard of quality for games instead of all these lame annual remakes.
No it's not. Follow video to it's Youtube page. The video's description makes it very clear:
"THIS IS NOT GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE!
Alot of people are opening Crysis, putting in the code and expecting physics to run smoothly like in the video, it won't (unless you have such an uber beast but I don't think a machine available now could do this amount of stuff at 30fps).
It's for rendering a video with capture_frames, actual gameplay will be extremely l...
Agiea what?
It is a multiplayer game... they've almost always focused entirely on the multiplayer, almost ignoring single player. Hell, UT2K4 runs better and more stable in multiplayer than in single player.
Well, SP has almost always felt "tacked on" for Unreal Tournament. I'm not really sure where you're getting the idea it's like UT2K3 or UT2K4 though. They actually have a huge difference in feel. This one is a lot more grounded and spammy like the more successful Unreal Tournament (1999). Only thing that's the same is the fact that it's supposed to be fast and furious. A lot of the hardcore PC fans are upset with it because the game is actually a bit dumbed down in some ways compare...
My guess is because it's the single player. Little disappointing even though it's an improvement in most ways over the previous installments. Nobody really cares that much though, especially hardcore fans of UT from the past. It's all about the multiplayer.
I wouldn't recommend this game to any fans of the single player of the original Painkiller. Your main character is absolutely demented looking, especially once you see his arm, in-game. The weapon design was awesome in the original. You started with a weapon (the painkiller gun) that both looked, sounded, and performed pretty badass. You were only tempted to switch away from it when the going got tough. Now it's just some stupid cube that breaks up and spirals at people. While most of the gun...
The thing I think I seem to miss is most games today is: rewards. No, I'm not talking about achievements, those are just addicting habits. I miss unlocking hidden cars and tracks that you had no idea existed in racing games. I miss beating games on the hardest difficulty to be rewarded with options like god mode, unlimited ammo, and other gameplay modifiers. It also helps keep the game feeling new even after you complete it. I feel like today we have to get most of our finishing satisfaction ...
While I ultimately agree with you, some people have the right to care.
Some of us are fidelity freaks with giant TVs and projectors, and do have the eye to notice. With those factors, you truly can notice some games are a lot sharper than others, and seem to often logically lack in other parts of graphics.
Call of Duty 4 gets away with it because it obviously does look fantastic regardless, and more fluent frame rates is more important to the majority of gamers. ...
Yeah, it doesn't seem like too great of an idea to me. Intel was reasonable for buying Havoc. The Havoc Physics engine is widely used and is just simply pretty damn good. Hopefully that agreement will bring good things from both companies.
Ageia on the other hand, is obviously struggling, not something AMD needs. I guess I have to give Ageia credit for helping the push in advancement of physics for games though.

Could you imagine seeing people walking down the street holding their PSP up to the side of their head? :)
Wii!
Wait...
Don't worry, it's not like its going anywhere like the title of the article almost implies. Newer versions of Direct X have always ultimately performed worse than it's predecessors when it comes down to raw frames per second. That fact plus the fact it can only run on an OS that uses more system resources, it would only makes sense that it would not entitle better frame rates. They just offer other things in return, typically graphic improvements. Not sure why people are making such a big dea...
I doubt it. It's been proven that there's no huge differences between DX10 and DX9 in visual fidelity. It's mainly slightly different lighting, including light beams, and atmospheric effects in Crysis' case. All of which you can enable with some tweaking of the game files in XP. Despite this, Crytek still claims for the absolute best graphics, you still need DX10. According the Tweakguides however, this is pretty much just slightly better blur effects. The differences pretty much negligible. ...
And it's fun as hell.
Well, AMD helped turn the tables a bit with 3xx0 launch. The 3850 and 3870's are price for less than 200 dollars, and completely destroy the 8600's (their target) and often more matched by the 8800GT and GTS. Some argue the 3850s are even better value/price deals than the 8800GT. Nvidia just simply has a huge head start.
That's not entirely true. The Unreal franchise has always been a perfect example. UT players (along with Quake, Painkiller, Wolfenstein players, etc) have always been obsessed with not just modding, but completely tweaking the crap out of their games. There's a lot of stuff outside the game, such as legit modifying of game files, that you simply won't get to do on the PS3. You can't access the game's files on PS3 unless you have some experience up your sleeve. It's really nice once you've bec...
