I can't wait to see everything trivial that people have to offer in these spaces.

I just got through the first four chapters. Loving it so far. If you like STALKER (especially the famous x18 labs missions), you'll love this. Great atmosphere and visuals are very impressive at times. At least they are on PC--I have yet to see with my own eyes what it looks like on the consoles.

As long as things get moving in the near future I can forgive them.

Looks cool, but just looks like they just turned up the depth of field effect. Tilt shift in real photos is more than just that.

The boost came from optimizations in the driver itself, not from pushing cards any harder. The cards are overheating because there's a bug in the fan speed's throttle control that causes the fan to simply turn off and stay off.

I like the lower damage personally. It encourages people to move around instead of camping because it gives you the opportunity to react and shoot back when you're getting shot from behind or something.

Yeah I was kind of thinking that too. Heavy armor and curb stomping aside, there wasn't a whole lot suggesting Isaac had a malevolent personality. He just wants to do his job and find his girlfriend. Of course, getting the armor upgrades did kind of give you this feeling though. I guess that's what EA is trying to expand on.

Last thing I want is to play as another jarhead out for vengeance. Been there, done that.

Bob has the right idea. The results would not help anybody if everybody looked at the page and asked themselves, "Okay, but how much of a difference is the CPU going to make if the settings are on high, the settings I want to play on?"

If the article wanted to focus purely on CPU performance, then maybe they'd use low settings or include both high & low.

Chances are it's IW's job. Why should Valve have to monitor over a game they didn't even make? VAC is a completely automated service that is regularly updated by them for Valve games.

Valve is probably waiting on info and fixes from IW, as that's how it works on all steam-based games that aren't from them. The developer makes updates and patches> final version sent to Valve> Valve distributes it through Steam.

It'll get them eventually... and when it does it will be unforgiving, not like punkbuster.

The problem right now in multiplayer is that soon as ANYONE goes on a significant killing spree (especially with the chopper gunner killstreak), half of the kiddies start screaming profanity and accusations because you're automatically cheating and a loser who "bought" the hacks. If they see something ridiculous in kill cam, it MUST be cheating. Any attempt to refute is met with h...

PS3 is probably blurry from a mix of sub 1080p resolution and the fact a lot of picture quality is almost always lost when taking screenshots from consoles. Hence the PS3 screenshots appear blurry.

The PC screenshots are obviously taken at a low resolution with no AA, which is why it looks "too crisp" to some people by comparison.

Resolution, AA and AF aside, the only differences I see here are slightly different geometry and vegetation LOD biases/values.

That's true, but I doubt it will happen. That means Nvidia would probably re-enter the motherboard chipset business so everyone wanting to create a SLI computer would look at their motherboards rather Intel's. Yeah I know, SLI computers are definitely in the minority, but it's enough of a margin of sales that I doubt Intel would want to neglect it.

I think it would be easy to add.

Call of duty has always used IDTECH3 for their games (except maybe COD3), just more modified each time around. Each iteration was really just graphics overhauls. The support for online and dedicated servers is fundamental and hard-coded into the engine and hasn't changed drastically outside of the netcode and anti-lag mechanisms.

Chances are the ACCESSIBILITY of such features have been taken out, but the ability to do it is still ther...

Half-hour later we're at 36,900. Sure there's repeats in there, but that rate still tells you something.

"Special Ops includes a variety of gametypes and mission objectives. One of many being a Wave Defense type."

Me like. Sounds like zombies co-op, just without zombies.

Not to mention 500 registry entries is probably <10mb worth of data. None of them probably having to anything related to game execution.

They should advertise on Facebook with a fan page, maybe even make an application eventually. Lots of potential growth there.

Question though, what's keeping me from opening a boatload of games in tabs and just letting time go to work on the donation counter? What actions cause the donation? It looks like it just counts upwards steadily, unless that's just other players earning cash by actually playing.

When it comes to i5 vs i7 used purely for gaming, go i5. The PCIE is faster because of the new design. Plus with some overclocking, the i5 750 is nearly identical to the i7 920 in performance in games.

Yep, that's what me and I'm sure a lot of other people thinking. The fastest of Nvidia will beat the fastest of ATI, but as soon as the price/performance ratio match, ATI will be fair game.

This just sends us to the author's post on another forum which sends us to his twitter page which finally sends us to the official website. Pathetic.

I'm curious how they connect all the monitors physically. It has to be some sort little monitor hub. Those kind of accessories connecting just three or four monitors are incredibly expensive, so I wonder what ATI's solution to this is.
Also, it's pretty impressive if they're getting all that data to flow through a single DVI/HDMI port.
