I need to use CAPS because I don't know how to add EMPHASIS to my post any other way. If I DON'T, I fear people will not take me SERIOUSLY. Oh wait...

I don't think anyone picks up games and decides to see how fast they can finish it. It comes later. Learning how to do speed runs can breathe new life into games and can make even really slow paced games an incredible rush.

I wonder if we'll start seeing computer cases get really long as a standard some day because video cards may get even more freakishly long.

It's pretty much a matter of when you don't feel like waiting for what's next. There will always be something that's arguably worth waiting for when buying something.

Meh, I don't like the in-your-face approach. I like how everything paranormal in FEAR was kept at a distance, especially in the Extraction Point expansion. It kept those kind of events just that, paranormal, rare, and freaky. It was great. Having zombies and whatnot as regular enemies just makes this one step closer towards another Doom shooter. In Doom, you got completely adjusted to the zombies behavior. At least, that's what happened to me and all my friends who've played it. Everyone just...

A lot of that is because Half Life 2 was delayed for so long too. The game came almost a year late because of all of the trouble they had with people taking the source code. On average, that helped a lot of people when it came to minimum requirements on the release. By then, Half Life 2 was just has impressive use of shading technology and what's still really good animations. But other games had caught up by then. The way it actually plays is why it's so successful in my opinion. There's not ...

I just got this game the other day and I'm almost done with it. Granted I haven't spent nearly as much time as other people messing around, I haven't experienced anything very awful or terribly glitchy. The worst so far has been how easy it is to blow up the trucks sometimes.

Otherwise, this game is one of my favorite single player games ever. Incredibly immersive if you have the rig for High/Very High settings. I thought the beach assault level was of similar, epic proportions...

I'd say it's because they're often just merchandising and doing it for the sake of money while other developers are typically building their games with a bit more than that in mind.

Any hardcore UT fan will tell you UT3 is nothing like UT2K4. The purpose of UT3 was to seek roots in the original UT because it was so successful, and it's not hard to tell when you've played them all... a lot.

It wouldn't be stable or very playable on older systems if they hadn't optimized, and it's certainly both. I played it on an AMD 3000 with a 6800GT for crying out loud. In my opinion, the only people who wonder why Crysis is hard to run is the people who have never seen anything more than high-res screenshots. When you see it in motion on your screen, on high settings, there's no questions asked.

A girl? Sitting and watching you play video games? That's either a lie or that relationship isn't going to last. :p

They're talking about running the game in "HD" resolution. By computer standards, that's resolutions like 1920x1440 and 2560x1600. Those resolutions will smack up pretty much any computer in any game when 16x FSAA and 16x AF is applied. Not to mention three videos cards is almost useless today, even for Crysis. The third GPU probably isn't being utilized, as it's brand new, and just makes more work for the CPU. Normal SLI could almost yield slightly better fps for now.

I wonder if there's anything else you can do? Upscaling isn't too bad if the method used is good. A lot of HD shows on television are upscaled and a lot probably don't even have the eye to notice.

Ohhh please don't call it Unreal 3. Unreal 1 & 2 from Epic is an entirely different series than the Unreal Tournament franchise :)

Even though I'll probably be going Intel with my next CPU purchase, I still think AMD has it's place. AMD pushed the 64bit market for years and was destroying Intel for a while. It's what made Intel do their homework for years and force them to bring the great Core Duo lineup we have now. Today, AMD is more of a value product. You can get some of their most high end products for under 160 dollars. They will compete with the E6400 and E6600 which typically sell for much more. I'd still probab...

Welcome to N4G. Where console users unite to destroy the menacing PC user.

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY BLURAY, HD-DVD, OR EVERY SINGLE GAME I LOVE, I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A LIST OF PRICE DIFFERENCES TO PROVE TO YOU CONSOLE GAMING IS BETTER. I'M GOING TO KEEP USING THIS METHOD TILL IT WORKS."

On the same engine for the same console? Nah, I wouldn't expect some sort of Far Cry to Crysis difference. When I think back about the faces details in the first, I'd say these are pretty good improvements. I'm willing to bet when it's done, if you were to play through the first and then pop in the second, we're probably going to love the difference.

This sucks. So many movies I want on both sides.

Well for PC, it's how big the server has set and can handle. You can play with 32 people on the smallest of maps if you'd like. They only have recommendations for them.
