I'm just glad one company has guts enough to not take this kind of stuff out of their games.

Actually this is a pretty well written article, most people will read the headline and jump on it without reading it. They are saying it's a good game and does a lot of things well, but it's not groundbreaking and doesn't bring the "wow" factor you got when you played U2.

I tend to agree, people were expecting perfection but when your at the top, the only place to go is down, even if slightly. I actually enjoyed U2 a bit more, but no doubt U3 was good as...

The Silent Hill franchise has simply lost it's relevancy. People grow up and out of certain things, I think Silent Hill is one of those, I remember playing the original back when I was a teenager and it was great fun and scary and a good game, they have all gone downhill since then and I've found other games that do that formula better.

Maybe eventually, but you don't get the same hype for those games like you see with a Halo, Gears, Mario Brother or Zelda.

I'm not sure why everyone gets so defensive, I was just stating my opinion. Also, I don't think everyone would consider those "Top exclusives" I actually prefer some titles on PS3 that you didn't mention, but it's all good.

Pretty nice for a PS3 exclusive. It just seems to me that PS3 lacks that title that attracts everyone to it. Congrats to them though, it is a fun game, but I think I prefer elements of the second game better.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Halo take back the most pre-orders for an Xbox 360 game. I am guessing between 3-4 million by the time the game releases late next year.

Did people actually expect MW3 to get negative reviews? come on now, it's going to score very high and sell a ton of copies. It's Call Of Duty people. Get over it, or cry some more about it.

I DGAF about 3-D, I will never get a 3-D television, not because it's Sony, but because it's a stupid, headache inducing fad. I don't even go to the 3-D movie theater.

It wouldn't be so bad if EVERYTHING wasn't marketed as being in "Epic 3-D". I mean seriously, no means no right?

Someone should say the same thing to Sony and 3-D.

In your opinion perhaps, but it's my opinion that if Uncharted 3 is up there, then Gears 3 should be as well.

It deserves to be up there. No offense to the people that will get offended by it, but if Uncharted 3 was up there, then Gears 3 should be as well. Both those games are solid, but at the end of the day they are both just sequel to a sequel.

There hasn't been a game that has so much content on one disk as Gears 3 in a long, long time. I mean what other game that has such a focus on multiplayer has such a long and epic campaign?

It's a travesty, but I&#...

It's not a loss for Activision! That truck counts as units shipped and sold to retailers. Those games will still see sales, just on a different market.

Damn, that is crazy. People absolutely love some COD. I think COD might be the only game that is totally inundated in popular culture to the point where even non gamers know of it.

5215d ago 7 agree1 disagreeView comment

What exactly makes a game good then? I think it's obvious that sales, critical reception and staying power all help determine if a game is a success.

If not for those things then what? I think people like to make excuses, but at the end of the day those excuses just don't hold any weight.

I'm glad, those are resources better used elsewhere. Honestly 3-D always has been a fad, I mean if you had to choose what the developers should spend more time on, I think almost everyone would prefer time spent on other issues.

This has got to upset Sony a bit, they pay extra money to get extra content to try and counter what Microsoft does with Call Of Duty and their version still does worse.

I'm actually surprised the game put up this good of numbers, I think people actually expected better overall, not saying it's a terrible game, but how can the BF3 fanboys have any arguments if there is a problem or two with MW3, when BF3 had/has so many post launch problems?

Also, I&#...

You do realize two year dev times is exactly what COD games have right? Treyarch has a large development team and they probably had some of those guys working on the Wii version of MW3 for a while.

You can bet that the majority of Treyarch has been hard at work for Black Ops 2 since the launch of the original Black Ops.

I really wish they would just call the Treyarch games "Call Of Duty" and the IW/SHG games "Modern Warfare" because then...

Nice commercial. I think all the fanboy stuff is ridicules, let people who enjoy Call Of Duty enjoy it, it's not effecting you if your not into it or if your not going to buy it.

I have seen a lot of ignorance when it comes to this site, but the way people hate on COD is just asinine.

This commercial is very well done and I'm glad to see they are using the "soldier in all of us" motto. I'm really excited to play MW3, midnight releases...

Original Xbox gets hardly any love, I was skeptical at first too, but Halo, Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butchers Bay,Panzer Dragoon, Forza, Fable, Shenmue 2, Blinx, Conker, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Voodoo Vince, Toejam And Earl 3 all helped me see how great the original Box was.

I mean XBL was new and paved the way, but let's not forget Microsoft was the first to include broadband online right out of the box, HD games, which still really hold up today, I mean games like...
