I get tired of excuses when it comes to high profile games. "Campaign isn't THAT bad". "Game being linear isn't so bad". Just deal with the fact that games aren't perfect and you cant please everyone.
@smashcrashbash
Your joking right? look at some of the top selling games, most are dance titles. Also look at Facebook games which have hundreds of millions of people on them compared to anything else on the market.
With Smart Phones, motion controls and easily accessible games like that it's easy to see that casual gamers do indeed outnumber core gamers by a rather large margin.
It wont be digital only because the majority of console owners aren't connected online and some don't even have online accounts. I think sales would suffer tremendously if they tried to do that. Since GTA always sells so much anyway, I don't think some people buying the game used is that big a deal.
Where I live, my internet is kind of crummy..so even though I play online I have a cap as to how much I can download per month and it's kind of slow as it is. I th...
I know I'll get disagrees because this is N4G, but when the Move came out I said it wouldn't do well because Sony lacked the first party characters to pull off something so similar to the Wii. I think this is the same case, why is Sony all of a sudden D-riding Nintendo? I realize the industry copies each other here and there but this is pretty blatant.
I've heard all negative things about the campaign, and wasn't there a article saying less then 20% of people who bought that game have even finished the campaign? Seems pretty clear that the campaign is lacking.
I think that is something Dice needs to definitely work on in the future.
Batman Arkham City most likely, but Gears 3 is right up there as well.
I think Grand Theft Auto games are fun and all, but I never even finished the last one and think this looks like more of the same.
Not sure why people are acting so surprised that this game is getting great scores. I've also noticed a complete lack of comments in every Dance Central 2 review. Mostly because it's a huge critical success already.
Just because a game might not be for your particular tastes, doesn't make it a bad game. Also, just because a game is for Kinect doesn't make it a bad game or a bad thing. Kinect is starting to find some great games that are scoring very, very well...
I don't really trust these numbers seeing as how the Xbox 360 version was the best selling version. Also, I'd like to point out the 360 side had a ton of server issues.
Lastly these numbers as a whole aren't impressive for a new game, especially one with such high expectations. Halo 3, Halo Reach, MW2, Black Ops and Gears 3 all have more people on them then the numbers they listed for BF3 on XBL.
I kind of doubt that. Honestly Mass Effect 1 was amazing, but had a couple of flaws as far as the mechanics were concerned. Then they fixed those flaws in Mass Effect 2, but forgot to actually make ME2 an RPG.
I have high hopes for ME3, I really want to import my perfect saves from the last couple of games and finish the trilogy off with a bang, but I don't know how that will happen with a bit of a rush job that ME3 looks to be as well as the implementation of online. I t...
I think 2K is taking a page out of EA's book. They are usually the ones who shut down servers the following year so people are forced to buy the new game if they want to play online. Sucks...
Sweet! Already a level 65, maybe this will get me closer to 100.
Expect tons of deals now that the holidays are close.
It's definitely looking solid, only problem I'm having is finding the cast for all of these games and then finding time to actually play them in between work, life, wife ect... ughhh
Ehhhhh, What would you expect Sony to say? I mean are they going to say there isn't a demand? They want to try and get people hyped for it and maybe get them to pre-order one because they think there will be a run on them and you wont be able to get one.
Either that or they polled N4G specifically and bought into the whole "Day one buy!" that people throw out all willy nilly here.
I'm not sure how this is news honestly.
This was a decent idea, but without true wrestlers other then Hogan it was bound to fail. They should have made it more like that UFC trainer, that game works and is pretty fun.
Why would you drop the price if the current price is still selling like crazy?
Gears 3 does TDM just right. I hate it on other games because it enables campers, but Gears 3 does it in such a great way. It's the most popular game mode on the game as well. Which says a lot.
I usually play Domination or Search or CTF on COD.
@Ryudo How ignorant.
Microsoft could actually do something like this as well, even though I wouldn't buy it, just like I wouldn't buy this blatant rip off of Nintendo.
Microsoft could have the following.
1.Master Chief
2.Marcus Fenix
3.Conker
4.Blinx
5.Banjo
6.Joanna Dark
7.Toejam and or Earl
8.Brute Force Characters
9.Killer Instinct characters
10.Splosion Man
11.Gunstringer
In what way exactly? Metacritic? Sales? Fans? Pretty much in every conceivable way COD is better and has always been better then Battlefield.
@wicko
I listed more then sales, it's obvious COD has the larger fanbase and the COD games always outscore the Battlefield games. So critically, financially and popularity all goes to COD. Like it or not, also the whole argument about kids playing COD games is moot, I get it....get a new excuse.
