How can you prove quality? Sales wise and Metacritic wise MW3 is slapping the taste away from Battlefield 3.
From what I understand, Battlefield 3 was broken at launch and it still suffering from issues, while MW3 has been smooth sailing.
Of course people are buying them, was there ever any doubt MW3 would sell 20+ million? Battlefield 3 took NOTHING away from the COD pie. Wishful thinking to a game that couldn't even beat MW3 in Metacritic scores.
I have a feeling there will be 3 COD games with more people on them then BF3 next month. MW3, MW2 and Black Ops.
Black Ops 2? I think there was some story on it earlier this year. Two year dev time is fine for these games, to those complaining...DON'T BUY IT!
Pretty simple really. I actually prefer the Modern Warfare games as opposed to the Tryarch ones, but I buy them all. I also buy Madden and Assassins Creed yearly, I don't see any hate on AC, yet it's yearly.
People just love to hate, love to have even more because COD is so popular, sells better then e...
Wow, people will look for any reason to hate on COD. Hey Battlefield 3 fanboys, give it up! You thought BF3 would take away some of the COD pie and it didn't, you thought BF3 would be the better game quality wise, well MW3 is currently beating Battlefield 3 on Metacritic as well.
Stop writing fake reviews on Metacritic and play your supposed great game.
Sorry, it's not better then U2 IMHO. It's my own opinion and wont be changed. To each their own, but as far as I'm concerned Uncharted has seen it's best days with U2.
Well where are all the people complaining about paying for something you already pay for, which is internet service?
If you buy a game, used or new it should work all the same, except maybe if there was DLC included that had already been redeemed.
I think it's a horrible practice and I'm glad not every company is in on this trend.
I think it's wrong, people buy and sell items all the time and you don't hear the creators of those items complaining. Someone used a car analogy and I like that one, however, what if car manufacturers put some sort of chip in the cars so if they were sold to someone else they wouldn't work?
Why not do the same with consoles themselves next? We cant allow these types of things to happen in our society, I know this is just video games, but nobody is going to one da...
Well I can honestly say those "user" reviews were made by Battlefield fanboys who should have been busy playing Battlefield 3 instead of wasting time on writing fake reviews on a game they haven't even played.
It's obvious there are angry fanboys with nothing better to do. Kind of sad.
I usually don't have outbursts, but I'm loving all the hate. People are really thick in the head if they expected Modern Warfare 3 to get bad reviews. The formula is tight, the controls are tight, the graphics are tight. Sure they didn't use a completely "new" or "rebuilt" engine like Battlefield 3, but it goes to show that games can be great without that, graphics aren't whats important in the end.
So to all the people saying Modern Warfar...
Call off the dogs, there is no conspiracy. The Modern Warfare games have always scored well. Call Of Duty games are fun and addicting and always change quite a bit, it's just ignorant haters who don't see it.
I'm loving N4G today! Humble pie all around this place!
Nice! MW3 holding strong in the low 90's on Metacritic so far!
Great review, with all the amazing reviews coming in I thought the haters would be hiding, kind of like when Kinect sold like crazy.
Did people expect bad reviews? I mean really? COD does FPS game properly and millions of people love the games, they wouldn't always outsell the previous if they weren't doing something right.
MW3 is looking to be quality and it sure as hell will win the quantity challenge.
Remember that time when peopl...
That is such an ignorant statement really. The graphics are much different then 2007's COD4. I cant even go back and play COD4 because the graphics and especially the gun models look so bad.
You talk up Battlefield 3, but that campaign is the shortest, most linear campaign I've ever seen. Anytime you have a game with MILLIONS of people playing it, some of them will be kids, kids are easier to remember because they are loud, but to suggest it's all kids is idiotic....
Quality is opinion based, where as critical and commercial success are at least a way to judge games against one another.
MW3 will undoubtedly win the sales part and the Modern Warfare series seems to only get better, so I'd expect low 90's on Metacritic.
I think all the COD games have quality and they sell in quantity.
Nice to see Sonic Generations chart. Hopefully they start making more Sonic games like this. Charts will all change after a week or two, MW3 will take up a couple of spots, Halo CE will take up another spot, as will Skyrim.
I'm actually hoping they get put in charge of some IP's Microsoft owns, I think TP would do great with Conker, Banjo or even Blinx.
Beating a game in a single sitting doesn't make it bad or even short. I've beaten Gears 3 (12 hours), Uncharted 3 (10 hours) and BulletStorm (9 hours)all in a single sitting and they were all great games!
A great game makes you want to continue on and see what happens next. I always go to the COD midnight launch, then play the campaign when I get home, take a power nap, grab some food and hit up the multiplayer after that.
Still better then anything Battlefield has ever done.
Ya, everyone's Wii is in "storage". I guess I'm the only one with a entertainment center that has places for my Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and my black Dreamcast?
This is going to be a solid game and a definite contender in every category. Cant wait.
I kind of called this after this past E3. When companies scale back exclusives the way Microsoft and Nintendo have done, there is something going on.
Microsoft was smarter about it however, they didn't say anything, which keeps people buying new Xbox 360's and Kinect. Nintendo blew their wad a bit too early and they didn't even show off the actual Wii U at all.
Microsoft has the oldest software, it just makes the most sense. I think they still pro...
