Nice but I really can't see that happening.
When the PS3 was released the buyer was effectively purchasing a PS2 and a PS3 so I can't see the PS5 having an "emotion engine" (PS2) and "cell architecture" (PS3) in addition to its X86_64 architecture. Of course, it may be possible that PS1, PS2 and PS3 games may be run under emulation.
It must be noted that there are quite a few PS1, PS2 and PS3 games that are remastered to run on...
I would be very surprised (ie. appalled) if the PS5 could not play PS4 games either via Bluray install or digital download install. In fact, I would go as far as to say that it is very possible (PC's do this) that is possible that a PS5 game may be playable on the PS4 although with reduced assets.
Note: If the PS5 has a UHD Bluray drive then any game that comes out on UHD Bluray will not be installable on a PS4 since the PS4 only has a Bluray drive, but there is no reas...
Since the PS5 has a similar architecture (ie. X86_64) to the PS4, backwards and possibly forward compatibility (ie. PS5 games could play on the PS4 with reduced assets) is almost a foregone conclusion since you only have to look at the current X86_64 PC market to see that this is the case.
As for PS+ free games that are "ported" to the PS5, in some respects, this is already being done for the PS4 so that is very possible for the PS5. The problem you are going to h...
We don't really know what the commercial PS5 actually looks like although I personally hope it is not like the developers one.
I think the only reason that Sony will would put a UHD Bluray player in the PS5 is if games were starting to exceed 50GB which for some is definitely the case. Actually, in all the years I have had my PS4 I have never played a Bluray movie preferring games over movies.
You are right about UHD Bluray movies although I have never heard of a standard definition Bluray (HD yes) however, all PS4's do support HDR and if you have a decent HDR 4K display (ie. monitor or TV) then if the game you are playing has HDR support the display will detect that and display accordingly. Also, a decent 4K display will upscale 1080p/720p accordingly (my LG 32" HDR 4K monitor does this). See: h...
Basically you are repeating what people said when 4K displays were on the horizon and like 8K is now, 4K displays were very expensive compared to HD displays.
Also, people said something similar when HD displays were touted compared to standard definition. Heck, we can even go back to black and white displays versus colour. What about "The horse and buggy will never be replaced by those new-fangled motor cars". 😎
Personally speaking, I ...
Since the PS5 uses the same architecture as the PS4 it "may" be possible that a PS5 game can be played on the PS4 (this occurs in PC gaming) although I would assume that the performance compared to how it would run on the PS5 would be reduced.
As an example, there are many PS4 games (equally with the XBox1 slim and pro) that do support HDR and 4K.however if you have a decent HDR 4K monitor/TV then even though your console may not support 4K you can still get to e...
The Witcher 3 for the PS4 is approximately 70GB with all DLC, however, the compleat edition for the Switch is supposed to be about 28GB which means it will not fit in the Switch's internal storage.
The Witcher 3 for the XBox1 and the PS4 support HDR (all PS4's and XBox1slim) and 4K if you have the pro models so obviously the install size will be larger.
For Switch owners who are thinking of getting "The Witcher 3" I strongly suggest play...
According to a quick Google search (ie. "size of overwatch for switch"), the install size for Overwatch is will be 12.1 GB if you buy the game through the Nintendo eShop. Of course, the player should be aware that that size is half the capacity of the usable part of the internal storage for the Switch.
Pre-order on Amazon is USD$39.99 although I would not be surprised if you can get it for a cheaper price and according to the article, you will still have to downlo...
I have an LG 32" HDR 4K monitor but only a standard PS4. My monitor does a very good job of upscaling so all my PS4 games do look really nice and if a game supports HDR (quite a few do) then the monitor will select HDR and the picture appears so much more detailed.
Yes, you definitely can see the difference between a 4K and 1080p display depending on the content you are displaying but HDR is really a game-changer and what is really nice is that all PS4's support HD...
The original "folding" PS4 headsets have a very fatal flaw in the folding mechanism in that the hinges will break. When this happend to me the headphones were still under warranty so I got them replaced but aft a year the hinges broke again so I "duck-taped" them and have not had any trouble since.
Taping or glueing the hinges is not very aesthetic but it does work.
Have you checked the back of your PS4?
Like any electronic device with a fan, you should be checking for dust and lint. If there is excessive clogging of the vents you will need to clean them, however, don't just use a vacuum cleaner since that could damage the fan instead, do a quick Google search on how to do the cleaning.
If after cleaning you still have excessive noise you may need to clean and reapply thermal paste but again check up on how to do...
Gravity Rush and Horizon Zero Dawn actually make use of the dual-shock4's speaker. The are other games that make use of the DS4's speaker as well: https://www.gamesradar.com/...
Unlike the Souls/Borne games when you die in "Code Vein" you only have one chance to reclaim your XP, however, unlike the Souls/Borne games you are also on a tight time limit although you can extend this time by destroying enemies. This extensible time limit is also in games like "Lords of the Fallen" or "The Surge".
As for "scantily clad women", well like it or not "sex sells" and if you select a female as your main charact...
The XB1 and the PS4 were not backwards compatible from release.
The XB1 was released on the 22nd Nov 2013, however, backwards compatibility with XBox360 games were not implemented 24th Oct 2017 (13 titles initially) https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... Since then quite a few games that were released on the XBox360 can now be played on the XBox1 2429d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment
@someone72
I still have my fully working FAT PS3 which I brought day one of release.
Sure the Wii sold over 100 million but can you really say that the Wii was even in the same league of the Xbox360 and the PS3 since both of these consoles could output graphically to 1080p while the Wii was standard definition only.
While I have not played Breath of the Wild since I don't have a WiiU or Switch. I have played and enjoyed other Zelda games so I don't have an issue with that style of game or its graphics. I have played and enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn and all the Souls/Borne games as well as other RPGs such as The Witcher 3 and Deus Ex all of which tend to photorealism (sort off).
For some reason, I could not really get into Final Fantasy XV (still on my to-do list though) although I...
In real life, unless you do clean your weapons after a firefight and/or on a regular basis there is a possibility of the weapon not functioning properly which is rather embarrassing, not to mention potentially fatal. Of course, weapon maintenance is essential in reality but when you play a game, cleaning while supposedly immersive just becomes "busy work" which can be offputting.
The Witcher 2 install size was about 23GB and required the following minimum PC minimum requirements:
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB or Radeon HD 3850 512 MB (finding a graphics card performance hierarchy chart online and comparing one's video card with our minimum is suggested)
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or dual core AMD 2.5 GHz
RAM: Windows XP - 1 GB, Windows Vista/7 - 2 GB
