The game looks interesting so it has now been entered on my "to do" list, however, I do have a huge amount of games that I have not finished or if truth be told I really don't want to finish since I enjoy those games so much that compleating them would destroy my interest in replaying them.
Most of the "Souls" like games are IMHO difficult but they are also fair in that there are techniques that can aid the player. For example, I will use NioH were one of your missions is to destroy a daemon. During this fight, if you get hit once no matter what armour you have, you are dead. Blocking is not an option.
It is possible to win the daemon fight without resorting to magic but one lapse of concentration and you have to start again so if you have the Onmyo ...
The only melee weapon in HZD is the spear and that can only be upgraded to +1 in the early stages of the game. If you have the "Frozen Wilds" DLC you can get an item that will allow you to upgrade your spear although you do get upgrade items during the game they are useless until you get the spear module (it's a quest item) in the DLC.
The game does have fast travel between bonfires if you have a travel pack or the unlimited travel pack. Of course, you have th...

While the majority of PCs (i.e. x86-64 architecture) run a version of Microsoft Windows (Win 10 is basically the only supported version now since Win 8.1 reached "end of life" on Jan 9th 2018) Microsoft does not make any royalties from gaming manufactures unless they are owned (or part-owned) or their game has Microsoft assistance.
If Sony ports a Playstation game to the PC it is quite possible they don't pay any royalties...
It depends if you get the "ultra" edition compared to the "standard" edition and (of course) if you let yourself be conned into getting the microtransactions.
Be that as it may, pretty much all PS4 games will be playable on the PS5 and for the careful gamer they may wait for a sale.
@AirRevenant
Not sure where you can sit on a Thunderjaw much less get up on its back, same for a Behemoth although it may be possible on a stalker especially if its stealth mode allows Aloy to become invisible as well.
That takes a bit of imagination since the Switch only supports games up to 1080p when docked. To date the Switch does not support HDR, however, all PS4's and later release Xbox's do provide (of course) the game being played implements HDR.
So you are insinuating games like the Souls/Bourne, NioH, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc have "crap" control mechanics? OK! but I think many people are going to disagree with you. As for having games that run at 60fps, I will agree that the higher the frame rate the better but unless you have a display device (i.e. Monitor or TV) that has a higher refresh rate than 60Hz then higher frame rates above 60fps are meaningless.
In Skyrim, I found fighting in the third person an...
I will agree Dragon's Dogma is an excellent game and having the ability to climb on huge enemies is fairly unique, however, I really hope that Capcom (if they make DD2) reduces those "escort missions" or at least makes them much more interesting. Of course, if I hear "Harpy!" one more time I am going to scream.🤪
I found the best way to fight a Thunderjaw was the shadow rope-caster and when disabled (you have just seconds) to rapidly switch to sling and sharp-shot arrows. If you can target the heart then the fight will be over fairly quickly, however that is a big "if". In the wilds, it is safer to either override (need to complete Zeta cauldron for Thunderjaw) or set traps and snipe but be ready to run.
Actually on the hardest difficulty fighting pretty much any of the m...
If you compare the melee combat of HZD to NioH then there is no comparison, but even in NioH if there are more than two enemies or a large and or powerful monster then run away, snipe and if possible back-stabbing (Ninja skill) are the safest solutions. When facing a boss or even bosses in NioH then running away is not an option.
IMHO melee combat is HZD is what I would call a "last resort" and you should concentrate on setting traps, overriding or long-distance ...
There are plenty of games that have melee.
1. Dragon's Dogma (@st_vex) - Climbing on an enemy is awesome but most of those escort missions do spoil the game.
2. The Souls/Borne games - enough said.
3. NioH - High, medium and low stances coupled with five different weapons (discounting rifles and bows) with the ability to customise (see blacksmith) their attributes and actions. Also, you can learn Ninja and Onmyo skills.

In The Witcher 3, it pays to be a "gourmet" when you first upgrade your stats otherwise you will go through a lot of "food". 😃 hint!
I do think The Witcher 3 is an excellent game, however, like Skyrim and quite a few other games you can change your difficulty level on the fly which IMHO actually spoils the games.
When playing The Witcher 3 it is best to choose the hardest difficulty since that forces you to get familiar and making with Decoctions, Potions, and Oils as well as getting smiths to manufacture weapons and armour. Now to be fair if you choose to play this game at the highest difficulty it will...
I am still waiting for the "Toaster" and "Fridge" editions of Skyrim. 😄
@ApocalypseShadow
Nice sarcasm! 👍
You did forget six-axis detection. Sure that feature is not used in that many games although without that feature you would have difficulty in some of the timed trials of Gravity Rush 1 and 2. Actually you can use the six-axis feature when entering data in some games and also in some PS4 menus.
I have only played one game (PS3) that actually gave me RSI and that dubious distinction goes to "Tails of Xilla" which was kind of annoying since I actually liked that game. I have also tried to play "Tails of Berseria" on my PS4 and started to run into the same problem.
I don't have any issue playing the Souls/Borne games nor do I have a problem with Horizon Zero Dawn (hardest mode) and NioH. So for me, the problem was not the controller (i.e. Dua...
When the world is in the middle of a pandemic then it makes perfect sense to socially distance and webcam family gatherings are an excellent way of preventing the spread of the virus.
In Australia, the government listened to the Doctors and Scientists and we have a death toll of about 100 (it's also flu season since we are approaching winter). If you wish to contrast that to the USA then multiply 100 by 13.2, or if you want to contrast that with the UK then multiply 100...
I have always adopted the attitude of if you don't need something at the moment then switch it off or remove it.
I was looking a getting a decent webcam with built-in mic for Zoom conferences with the immediate family since here in Australia we are socially distancing due to the Virus. I found that most stores had sold out of webcams and those that were available were marked up ridiculously and I refuse to support that kind of extortion.
To get aroun...
Of course, the graphics card will be impressive however it would be nice to know what the price is going to be and compare that to the price of the PS5.
With the PS5 you effectively get everything to play games, however, this graphics card requires the purchaser to plug it into a PC motherboard that has a bus that has a similar or better data transfer rate otherwise you are going to have performance issues.
