Dragons Dogma II has already been announced. I just hope they come up with a more interesting quest system and more random item placements. Factions and crafting would IMHO be a big selling point as well.

The only Dragons Quest I ever played was DQ8 on the PS2. IMHO that was an excellent game and I personally think some new DQ IP for the PS4 would really kick-start the console market in Japan since that franchise appears to be very popular.

Not sure if I real...

While I have like the the BofF games I think BofF3 which was on the PS1 was the best of the series since you battled the enemy where you contacted them which is similar to many turn-based, active turn-base and real time RPG games are now played (Final Fantasy 12 was actually like this as well).

What I would really like to see is new IP however I do understand that gaming companies like to stick with IP that they know will make them money which IMHO is unfortunate. Basically n...

While I definitely do agree with you (see my previous post) I would like to see new Dragons Quest (loved DQ 8 for the PS2) and Monster Hunter games released for the PS4.

From what I can gather (please correct me if I am wrong) I think new DQ and MH games would revitalize console gaming in Japan since these gaming franchises are very popular.

Dragons Dogma 2 was announced a few weeks ago see the following:

While I really liked DD - dark Arisen over the original DD since it did have the extra content and additional (also much cheaper) teleports the quest system was still IMHO meh! (ie. fairly boring).

Now if the next release could have more interesting qu...

I have liked the games from "From Software" and even have "Kings Field" 1 (PS1) and 4 (PS2) as well as "Eternal Ring" (PS2). All of those games were first person perspective. Since I have a PS3 I also have Demon's Souls and Dark Souls however have held off on Dark Souls 2 because I thought it would be ported to the PS4.

Personally I prefer Dark Souls over Demon Souls because of the open world environment, however both games are great and I wo...

I don't have a PS4 yet since the current games on it are not compelling enough for me to buy one. However Dark Souls II and Bloodbourne are now tipping the balance. It does help that I have always liked games from "From Software" and still have my original PS1 "Kings field".

I do have a PS3 and have held off on DSII because I was almost sure that it would be ported to the PS4.

In the interim I am playing Skyrim to death (who really car...

I assume you have what could be regarded as a high end PC, however when games are made for a PC there are normally minimum specs given that the game will run reasonably well on.

Most PC's fall in the category of low to mid-range which in itself is quite difficult to quantify since you need to take into account the overall performance of each machine. Having said that I actually sympathise with PC game developers.

What is not acceptable is having poor per...

From the article:

"But to answer your question: ‘Do they not have retail units to test on?’ – Yes, we do have retail units, but you can’t test anything on them, because they can only run signed code.

Ok that I would agree to, however Ubisoft is developing the game and would/should have development kits. See the URL below for more info:

Yes I got the same comment, however it may be that they detected I was coming in from a Linux platform which normally can't run Microsoft Internet Explorer unless in a Virtual Machine of which I can't be bothered firing up.

I am sure that "Butthurt Sony fan" are going to cry crocodile tears when they pull out their Blu-ray copies of Ratchet and Clank and compare them against Sunset Overdrive.

Lets see: "Grind Rails" (check), BFG's conventional and weird (check), Deadpan Humour (check), small, large and huge monsters (check), 3D plat-forming (check), fast action (check), space ships and space action (???), wings, jet and helicopter packs (???), slip line (???), hook shot(?...

You are right however they did say that in the second paragraph so it is not false advertising. Kind of like adding the "small print" ;)

Is this a good deal? IMHO no it is not, unless you have a high-speed internet connection and no cap. Even if you do have all that a time-trialled game for just 24 hours is not really good of a deal when you have to download the full game.

I have played many of the Rachet & Clank games and from the demo of Sunset Overdrive this game looks like a re-skinned R&C game minus Clank.

This is not to say SO is bad for taking ideas from R&C since the games are made by Insomniac anyway, in fact it will be amazing so I definitely agree with you here.

The problem I see is the fact that you have to download the full game (possibly 10GB to 30GB) to play the demo (time trialled to 24 hours). You r...

You are being too nice here.

Basically Ubisoft’s really dropped the ball here since the types of problems the game is experiencing should have been picked up in Q&A. These sorts of problems could be forgiven on a cheap Indy game as long as it is fixed in the future. For a supposed AAA game these types of problems undermine the credibility of the company.

Since the code is proprietary I doubt anyone other than the developers have seen the code. Having said that Ubisoft has even admitted there are problems and have said what they "think" are the problems and what needs to be improved.

This is all well and good but the Developers are the only ones who can fix the code not the user.

The "troll" is strong with this one.

No matter what platforms you are targeting you always need to make sure your product will work properly on the target platforms and in this case they are PC's with appropriate minimum specifications, the PS4 and the XB1.

In the case of AC Unity it looks like Q&A was thrown out or minimally applied. This is not acceptable from a business perspective since this undermines that companies credibility.

I do agree that Sony has a more loyal fan base mainly because their products have proven to be quite well made and reliable although it must be pointed out that all products will eventually fail.

I personally don't have a PS4 at the moment mainly because I have a large backlog of PS3 games which I am still playing.

What would have made me be a day one purchaser of the PS4 would be backwards compatibility like they did with the PS2 and the FAT PS3 which t...

Personally I do like the "Ratchet & Clank" franchise and to me "Sunset Overdrive" appears to be a re-skinned equivalent of the R&C game-play.

This is not to say "Sunset Overdrive" is a bad game on the contrary I think it would be quite fun since the company (Insomniac Games) that makes R&C also made SO.

@Unarmed_Civilian

Assuming you are right and the XB1 in Nth America sells 100k units/month consistently while say the PS4 only sells 50k units/month then it would take 20 months before the XB1 made parity since the PS4 already has a one million unit lead.

The above scenario is very unlikely to happen.

As for the rest of the world I feel that the XB1 has very little chance of catching up unless Sony really screws up.

I have Skyrim the Legendary Edition and the game can lag and even hang once you get a 6MB save file although to be fair you may only loose a few minutes with a reboot.

When your save file is over 7MB and above you can still get lagging and the odd hang but they are now much rarer.

One problem? with this game is that IMHO it is so addictive that you can easily put in over 100 hours and hardly touch the main quest much less the three other "add-ons", ...

@ Twiggy

Unless you can complete the game in a day or two you may not get a full refund, however that would depend on where you purchased the game from. I am quite sure many retailers already know by now that customers may be trying to return the game and they have already played it through.
