You should know that you can save your snapshots and videos to an external USB disk which in turn can be uploaded to your PC if you have room on that.
As for games you can selectively backup your game data to your external hard drive(s). In addition you can selectively recover your game data so you don't have to reinstall patches.
The trouble is that no matter how much storage is available the user will always find ways of filling it up and then whine abo...
I think you meant SSD not HDD. If that was the case I fully agree.
If you are in the market for a larger hard drive for your PS4 then a 1TB or 2TB 7200rpm HDD is not that much more expensive (approx 5%) than a 5400rpm HDD of similar capacity and you will get an approximate 24% performance improvement.
I have mentioned this before but a hybrid drives (SSHD) are great if you have small regularly used files which are effectively cached by the solid state part. This is the case for operating systems.
When purchasing you need to find out how big the solid state part is and the speed of the normal drive. You may find that the cheaper 7200rpm HDD's have the better all over performance.
Example: Put an SSHD in a laptop you will notice a huge performance boost ...
Yes great if you have the money since they cost more than the PS4 itself. You will notice a huge improvement in loading performance, which is always welcome but no overall performance improvement in the game.
Solid State Disks (SSD) normally have a read and write of approximately 500MB/sec which is very fast in-comparison to standard hard disk drives (HHD). However SSD's are very much more expensive compared to HHD's of similar size.
Solid State Hybrid Drives (SSHD) have a small SSD cache which is also very fast but your main storage is still a HDD's which could be 5400rpm and 7200rpm (you can get higher speeds but they are more expensive) so for large files there migh...
Obviously having more memory is great however this is going to be allot more expensive.
When designing a PC which is a bit like hi-tech Lego you have to consider all major parts of the computer which is CPU, Memory, Motherboard, Input/Output devices (includes storage), Display driver (ie. Graphics card) and of course the actual display device or monitor.
Yes it is possible to have what could be called a RAM disk which is a virtual disk that is a dedicated par...
With regard to a high end PC the hardware of the PS4 and XB1 are outdated however the majority of PC's that are sold today are not "high-end" many are really equivalent to i3 processors with 4GB of RAM.
Want better? No problems but you are going to pay for it and most people can't see the advantage unless they are interested in serious gaming and have the money to pay for it.
Want a high end graphics card? You are probably going to pay more...
In the last gen both the PS3 and XBox360 could do 1080p. I won't deny that many games did come out that were 720p which still part of the high definition standard.
I do agree the PS4 is so small that it is very portable. While the XB1 is also portable you definitely need a larger carry bag since you also have to carry the power brick and an industry standard power cable which the PS4 uses is so much smaller and cheaper.
The latest model CUH1202A is very quiet. In fact I can't hear it even though it is less then one meter from my ears and I do have very good hearing.
The PS4 and also the the XB1 can already play 4k movies.
The software and hardware people would definitely liaise with each other but they may not be specialists across both disciplines.
My PS4 which is the latest CUH1202A model is very quiet and unless I put my ear to the device I can't hear the fan.
When playing a game you can feel the heat being exhausted which in the case of "The Witcher 3" is about 75W when the game is running. Standby on my model is about 55W.
The PS4 will stand on it's end without a support although I would always recommend one if you are going to put it on the floor, especially if children and animals are around.
With my PS4 it is connected to one of the HDMI ports on my monitor and switch-able between my PC in about 1 to 2 seconds. If my wife is not using our large screen HDTV in the living room I can disconnect (ie. HDMI and power connection) from my PC setup and move and reconnect to my HDTV in less than a...
Is there any reason why you would need a 4 USB model since you can charge your Dual Shock 4 by any decent USB to micro USB charger be it battery or mains connected.
I actually do use one of my USB ports for my headphones if I want 7.1 sound but if I connect to my sound system I can use either cable or wireless for my head-phones if I use them.
I have the latest model PS4 (CUH1202A) and I cannot hear it even though it is about one meter from where I am currently sitting.
Currently with my PC and monitor I am using about 60W. When I switch on my PS4 (now) I get 115W, which means that my PS4 in standby consumes about 55W and I can't hear the fan unless I actually put my ear to the device.
Now lets fire up "The Witcher 3":
Yes I can definitely hear the Bluray drive as it ...
Could not agree more, being politically incorrect is what makes this game so refreshing.
One thing that I have noticed allot in The Witcher 3 are the shear number of quests you can do and how many of them are not "go there, kill that", although you can if want. In fact if the enemy can talk you can sometimes reason with them (Trolls in particular) and not even have to fight which can actually earn you more experience and money.
There are some quests...
That is not the issue. If I don't have a particular game and I would like to play it I don't have any objection in paying for it.
What is the issue is those people who do have PS2 games (I have over sixty) having to re-purchase their existing game. From my own personal perspective I do have a BC PS3 and I also have a PC that can play via emulation PS2 games as well, so I this is not really a big deal for me.
Granted I am disappointed that I can't...
Err no! While say 5% are interested in backwards compatibility out of that 5% you would have to break down the the number of games by genres those 5% are interested in.
As an example.
Say we have 10% of people who own a PS4 like shooters and would purchase the next AAA shooter of the day so out of say 35 million you could be fairly confident you could sell approximately 3.5 million within a reasonably short time.
Now here is the problem. Out...
@Trez1234
With regard to TW3 you really need to play on the harder difficulties to appreciate the game. The problem with doing this is you are going to die allot in the first few hours which forces you to learn to use your signs as well crafting weapons, armour and potions to give you that extra edge.
On higher difficulties the enemy AI appears to be so much smarter and they will try surround as well as back stab/bite/slash you.
In many ways ...
