By saying that it appears you have not got very far in Bloodborne. It is not all gothic or dark dungeon levels there are forests and even a castle as well.

As for having a gun in your left hand. Try doing that with a two handed weapon.

Looting for the sake of looting is IMHO pointless. Play The Division if you want that. What I like is to be able to pick up specific items that will help me advance in the game.

>> Everyone was an agile melee fight with a gun in the left hand...

You cannot do that with a two handed weapon.

As for replay well that depends on the player.

I never did any grinding in a Chalice dungeon. In fact (I have only done four fixed ones so far) they are fairly linear and the enemy only respawn when you die or go back to Hunter's Dream.

You can grind in Bloodborne and the Souls series as well so you don't need something like the Chalice dungeon to do that. Sometimes a little grinding and/or farming can help you raise your levels or pick up useful items.

The Cleric Beast is by far the easiest boss in the game. You can summon Father Gascoigne to help you if you have not found him first. Unfortunately once you find Father Gascoigne who will most likely kill you the first time you will not be able to summon him.

Personally I would recommend fighting the Cleric Beast by yourself after levelling to about 16 or more. It also pays to upgrade your weapon to +2 (8 blood shards) or +3 (16 blood shards) which is fairly easy to do espe...

In Bloodborne you can get a shield fairly early in the game but you are by far better off just using your weapons and dodging. In some areas of Bloodborne a shield won't do anything against poison and in DS the same also applies, so you need to finish of your adversary a quickly as possible before the poison build up enough to kill you.

You are quite right the Dark Souls series is multi-platform whereas Bloodborne is exclusive to the PS4.

That said it appears that DS3 is selling approximately three or four to one on the PS4 compared to the XB1. I could understand a two to one ratio since the PS4 is leading the XB1 by approximately that. Read into that what you will.

Not sure what the PC sales are though.

I don't have a MS Windows operating system on my PC but my DS4 works flawlessly via USB cable (never seen a need to get a Bluetooth dongle so I can't check pairing). It also works flawlessly on my PS3 as well.

If you are still under warranty and have the receipts then get them replaced.

Like Bloodorne and the Souls series the game is only as hard as you want to believe it. If you take the time, build your levels, improve your weapons, armour and other capabilities then all enemies can be defeated. Yes the game is tough but it is fair and if you can't defeat a particular enemy then you need to determine why.

Sometimes especially in BB and the Souls games the shear size or look of an an enemy can actually affect your judgement resulting in you making inc...

Last time I looked on Dark Souls at the greatest sinners I was surprised to see some players were at level "0" which is interesting since the absolute minimum level was "1" although I have seen people at level "10" and all stats maxed out. I mean come-on cheaters if you are going to cheat at least do it properly. 😉

Personally I refuse to use the difficulty slider if one exists once I have selected a difficulty level. To me changing the difficulty on the fly just because you find an enemy a little too hard is IMHO similar to cheating but then again if it does not affect me then I don't really care since the person who is doing that is only cheating themselves although I am quite sure they tell themselves this is a valid thing to do since they can't do that in real life.

When I ...

Well all the Souls series and even Bloodborne have a on on-line tutorial.which actually does explain the controls.

The thing with Action RPG's and make no mistake BB and the Souls series are ARPG's that take many 10's of hours to complete (speed runs exempted) . With this in mind the player of these games has to invest the time to play them no matter what the difficulty. If they can't then maybe they should play a shorter and possibly easier game.

Then you weren't playing the game right or you have a mediocre HDTV.

To me the game played like Bloodborne and that is directly coming from playing Bloodborne to playing Nioh. The controls are also different which caused me to die allot in the first hour. Graphically it also looked quite nice on my IPS monitor in movie mode although I did notice some slowdown when there were allot of enemies on screen at once and that as just before I died since I still have to come t...

I would say the game is more compatible to Blooborne except you not only get buckets of blood but limbs flying in all directions. The reason I say that is I had just finished a Chalice dungeon and started playing the game expecting no more than 30 minutes of game play. Four hours later I thought to myself that I am very tired and I better go to bed.

I also died allot since I had to get used to the different controls and that odd lock-on which actually does work but it is ve...

Really, then let me educate you to the High Definition standard https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

The HD standard is only 1080p, 1080i and 720p. What 900p is is the graphical rendering of 1600x900 pixels progressivism scan which is then unscaled in the console to 1920x1080 pixels or 1080p. It must be noted that I am assuming an aspect ration of 16:9 which is basically the industry standard. ...

Underpowered in comparison to what?

To a top end PC like mine or a high end gaming rig then yes, however compared to the majority of PC's sold commercially today then no.

When I played Nioh at 1080p on my IPL monitor it looked quite detailed and it did not appear to have much slowdown at all even when four or five enemies were on-screen.. Likewise when I display to my 55" 200Hz HDTV although it dose not play and look as good on a standard HDTV....

Games like Bloodborne and the Souls series actually harken back to the old school way of gaming in that they are not going to hold your hand, however they are very fair in the way you are presented with each opponent, you always have the means of overcoming them, you just have to find it. Unfortunately some people just want everything handed to them so they don't have to put much effort into the game, hence these people will read walk-through's as well as how-too's before even pla...

Actually I think Sony is waiting for E3 before making an announcement. In the interim for better or worse Sony is getting allot of free publicity.

Actually my super reliable crystal ball told me that the upgraded console will be able to project holographic images and play games at 8K, 120fps resolution to the the new virtual reality headset that is currently being developed for the upgraded console. What is even more interesting is the new h...

It is not official. The article basically says nothing.

I think until the so called PS4.5 or PS4 NEO or whatever it's going to be called if officially announced and the specifications revealed then all we are hearing is rumour and if you look up what this word means ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... then it is best to just take all information with a grain of salt (idiom intended).

You are definitely entitled to your opinion as is the author.

Having owned all Nintendo consoles from the NES though to the GameCube that should make me an Nintendo Fanboy, however the turning point for me was the Wii which many people rightly IMHO stated that it beat the PS3 and the XBox360 in sales although not in combined sales.

What turned me off from buying the Wii was the Wii mote which was IMHO horrible for the type of games I liked which were Acti...
