I assume you have heard about the mathematic term called "Statistics". And I am not talking about the statistics you learn in high school.
It is not overly difficult to get sales figures from retailers, all that is needed is to get enough samples from reputable retailers which Microsoft and Sony do not control and then run statistical analysis on those figures keeping in mind that you will have a certain margin for error. Obviously, the more samples you get the le...
The PS4 leads the XB1 by about 19 million world wide and it is not because it sold in more countries. Overall the XB1 is been beaten resoundingly in countries that sell both consoles. Those countries that the XB1 is not sold in and the PS4 is only make up a small percentage of the 19 million lead.
The XB1 is still doing well with respect to aligned XBox360 sales but the PS4 is making stellar sales which even caught Sony by surprise.
Sigh! another rumor.
Wake me when we get official specifications and a release date, then I will take notice but until then Yawn!
The PSVR does need the PS Camera however, some people may already have it so it makes sense not to include it in the PSVR package. The same is true for the PS Move since some people may already have it already and it is not a mandatory control device like the PS Camera since you can always use your dual shock 4. Again it makes sense not to include the PS Move in the package.
As for saying that you need a PS4 for the PSVR is rather stating the obvious.

Geralt is close on 100 years old when he appears in The Witcher 3.
Yes, it is a well-written article and unlike others gives a very balanced view.
Personally, I have not played Uncharted 4 although I definitely did like one and two but I have yet to play three, so obviously I can't comment on 4 although it is definitely on my "to-do" list after I have finished Bloodborne, The Witcher 3 and sigh! Dragon Age - Inquisition which I have hardly played - about 4 hours although it does look good.
Anyone who has pl...
Oh, Angry Birds and Solitare is fine for a time waster but I have noticed the Pay to Win mentality for Angry Birds 2. Fortunately, Solitaire (well some) is free and there is no Pay to Win --- Yet!
Somehow I have never been enthused with other mobile games but then again I am not that keen on handhelds preferring console or PC. Still each to their own.
As for digital downloads, I don't mind if the game is cheap as well as small (a few GB). For larger ...
One of the main reasons why I don't like on-line only games is the fact that when the servers go down (and they will eventually) you are left with a coaster or wasted space on your hard drive.
Of course, there are exceptions where the developer makes it possible for private servers to take over but even then if a server is not available or no one is playing then the game is effectively toast. Having a campaign mode at least assures that the game is at least playable.

I asked my wife who never uses the PS4 about which button on the PS4 would turn it on and she immediately answered "top" which for Polygon edification is correct.
You do know that in some games you can set "inverted axis" where movement of your analogue sticks actually move your avatar in the opposite direction of what would be called "standard axis".
Easy to make a mistake but pretty easy to fix. All you need to do is go to the setup menu and change it to your play style.
"What setup menu" - Said the Polygon staff member. 😉
Actually back on topic. For the P...
The original XBox had an x86_32 architecture (32-bit 733 MHz, custom Intel Pentium III) so I would expect it would be fairly easy for Microsoft to develop an emulator for the XB1, that is if Microsoft gave the go-ahead.
See the following for more info on XBox emulators: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
It did contain some spoilers towards the end which I skillfully ignored since I have not played Darks Souls 3 yet (still playing Bloodborne) however, I fully agree. it is a "Great article, and excellent image work".
Personally, I do try and avoid looking at spoilers since it is no much more gratifying to be surprised by certain events in the game and to at least try and find a solution to some battles yourself although I am not adverse to getting help (ie. summoni...
From a nostalgia point of view, I would agree however, I would prefer new IP although I would not say no to similarities.
As an example, Bllodborne IMHO is a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls in that you have a central hub ("Nexus" for DeS and "Hunters Dream" in BB) and a Girl who will help you level up. The differences being that BB has a Gothic setting while DeS is more a Medieval setting.
I don't begrudge a remaster but I would prefer if the developer does a remaster they add additional content or in the case of an RPG they change some of the maps and preferably some of the story and events although it does not have to be completely different but just different enough for people who played the original to justify the purchase
As an example, I do have Final fantasy 10 and 12 as well as Demon's and Dark Souls. There would be a real incentive to repurchase Demon&...
Personally, I would welcome new IP from "From Software" but I would not say no to a Demon's Souls 2 however, I do think a Demon's Souls remaster with additional content at 60fps or at least a locked 30fps would be a nice money maker that would not be all that difficult to do.
You like blood and can't get enough of it then play Bloodborne.😉
Of course, if you like blood and the odd limb(s) flying off as well look no further than The Witcher 3 (best played on "Death March") and Nioh (very gritty).
If you buy the media then after the install you have to put the appropriate disk in before the game will play.
Why is this a problem you have to do this for all games you install on the PS4 or XB1 via the physical media. If you install via digital download you don't need a disk to authenticate.
Setting Battlefield 1 in a WW1 scenario may not be a good thing since you will have limited weapons and somehow "going over the top" looses it's appeal when you consider that the reality meant that many soldiers were literally cut to pieces by strategically placed machine guns, not to mention artillery shells.
I somehow don't think a bolt action 303 rifle would be a preferred weapon, especially in multiplayer although it was incredibly accurate and powerfu...
If you have brought the media then you need to put the disk in the drive so you can install (first time) then play the game. How is this a problem since you do that for all media installs for the PS4 anyway. If you install via digital download then there is no need to put a disk (since you don't have one) in the drive for authentification.
It must be noted that the PS4 does not use DX12 since that is a Microsoft only suite of graphical libraries.
