Actually, the tech demo looks conceptionally familiar to Rebel Galaxy although I will admit the graphics appeared better but not exceptionally better.
Star Citizen is supposed to only run on high-end PC's so that effectively cuts down on potential sales.
No Man's Sky like it or not has over 40 million potential buyers who own PS4's and many millions more for the PC edition which requires a fairly low-end PC to run. Another thing NMS has over SC is the fact that it has already released.
Will I buy NMS and/or SC when it finally releases? I think a solid "no!" in order since they are ...
Unfortunately when I see the letters "EA" alarm bells start ringing.
How close to your TV do you have your PS4 controller?
The only time I can see the light from my controller on the screen is if I bring up my DS4 to within 30cm (approx 1 foot) of the display and even then I can bearly make it out. I will admit that both my HDTV (over 5 years old) and monitor (6 months) screens have a matte finish.
I suppose if you have a reflective or non-matte finish on your HDTV and you play in the dark you can see the LED's of the...
I have the CHU1200 model and it is very quite. When I am playing my PS4 on my PC monitor the PS4 is actually within one meter from my ears and even if I turn off or mute my amplifier I can bearly hear the fan and I do have good hearing.
Actually, some people can play well over 8 hours straight (usually weekends) although they usually end up with back and posture problems later on in life if they consistently do this.
Since I like RPG's I can play for well over 8 hours and in that time I do take breaks although sometimes I do forget to plug my DS4 into my charger. If I do get a warning that my battery is low it takes me about 5 seconds (I do get a 15-minute warning) to plug in my charging cable which is...
The reason why you can now dim the lights on the controller is the fact that some usually cheap brand TV's really do reflect the light when the controller is close to the screen. For me to see the light of the controller on my TV or monitor I would actually have to hold the controller to within 10 to 20 cm (less than one foot).
As for the LED's draining the battery. The LED's in the DS4 are high efficiency and would most likely reduce battery life by a few secon...
It's even worse than that. We are currently having another format war and there are two competing HDR specs. Firstly there is HDR10 which is an open spec and supported by the new 4K Bluray specs. Secondly, there is Dolby Vision HDR which is a closed spec.
The problem some people may find is if they have or get a UHD TV that only supports one of those specs then playing the new 4K movies would not produce the full experience. I would strongly suggest that readers do some...
Someone with a bit of common sense. You don't even need a long USB cable, you only need a USB cable that is long enough to connect to either a USB charger or USB battery like the ones you can use to extend the life of your smartphone.
>> I guess this young generation of gamers want everything their way.
I think the right term is a "spoiled princess". 😉
The lights only reduce the overall battery life by a few seconds.
It's pretty easy to replace the DS4's battery with a longer life one which costs only a few dollars and there are plenty of written and video explanations on how to do this. Of course, you will void your warranty on the controller.
If you don't want to do what I have suggested then there are plenty of other nonintrusive options.
Overall the light bar would take a few seconds off the life of the battery. What really does drain the battery are things like the touchpad, rumble, inbuilt speaker, etc you know things that make the DS4 a controller.
I get anything from six to ten hours out of my Dual Shock4 controller depending on the game I am playing. Even when I am warned that the battery is low I still have about 10 to 15 minutes to do something about it like plugging in a charger cable (can be a powe...
Sony does what?
I don't have an issue with Nintendo having owned all their consoles from the NES through to the Gamecube. What turned me off Nintendo was when they brought out a standard definition only console (ie. The Wii) when all the other consoles supported HDTV's and IMHO that stupid remote which was fine for the casuals but not for more serious gamers. What compounded the issue was the WiiU which to Nintendo's credit did support HDTV's but that IMHO h...
I will make a simple prediction. If the Nintendo NX uses cartridges or memory cards as their main media then effectively the NX is doomed since third party support will drop dramatically.
If anyone wants to discuss technical I can do that and in spades, but to keep things simple.
1) Memory cards can't beat passive media (ie. Blueray disks) in price per gigabyte.
2) A hard disk is a much more flexible medium than a memory card. Think patches and digita...
When you first looked at the Wii-mote it looks interesting but the PS 3 controller from inception also had six axis control which worked the same way and as history has proven not many games really made use of it.
The problem was the PS3 controller was much more comfortable than the Wii-mote when used for a long period of time and most serious gamers could see that (most casuals couldn't).
You are right the Wii did sell more than either the XBox360 an...
All gamers have their own preferences in games and what may be the greatest game in the eyes of many may be rubbish to other people.
For me, my personal preference in games is Action/Adventure and RPG's and pretty much all other games are of no interest to me although I do have to admit that the Doom story mode (well there was a story - sort off) was really great fun to play.
Even within the game genres, I like I can be fairly picky so as far as I am ...
I hate to say it again but what you said is your opinion.
Have you played a BF1 or COD-Infinite Warfare? No! you haven't and until you do then it is your opinion although I won't fault you for having an opinion.
I actually have a 7.1 channel amplifier but I normally get my 7.1 optical out channel feed from my TV which in turn is connected to my PS4 via HDMI. Many modern TV's and especially UHD TV's (unless you get a really cheap one) support this.
Err I am not sure what you mean by that.
The original PS4 and the new slim will still play the same games. In fact, the only difference between them may be more power efficiency and the fact the slim is well smaller.
As for the Neo that should have a 4K Blueray player and support HDR (most likely HDR10 only) so you better check if your 4K TV supports HDR10 or Dolby Vision HDR or both. Do a web search using the following keywords (HDR10 vs Dolby Vision HDR...
Well ,there is nothing wrong with getting a UHD player but getting a game console that plays UHD games? Even the most expensive PC gaming rigs on the market today can barely play 4K games at 4K 60 fps with all settings on high, so what chance does a cheaper mass market console have.
I sort of equate The last Guardian to Duke Nukem. I do hope it turns out good but then we all know what happened with Duke Nukem so I am not holding my breath.
