The inbuilt batteries for Playstation controllers (includes Move) use Lithium-ion which have a fairly long shelf life and a tiny memory effect. See : https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... and https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

My original PS3 controllers (day one purchase) still work and you can play for hours. I also have a Move ...

No company would make a remastered game for free, that's a sure way of going out of business.

Now an emulator that is a different story since you are using the original game be it in physical or digital format. I can even understand charging for the emulator but if you have the original game then playing it via the emulator should be free.

Well until we get an official release date and price as far as I am concerned it's vapourware. 😉

In over 10 years since I purchased a day one PS3, I have only watched less than 20 Bluray movies (includes 3D as well). I actually got the PS3 and now the PS4 to play games not watch movies. I do have an additional PS3 in my lounge room that my wife uses to watch Netflix on occasion although most of the time she watches free to air shows. We get over 30 FTA channels which IMHO are mostly rubbish although Foxtel does beat that with over 200 channels which IMHO are mostly rubbish. 😉 <...

The PS4pro does have a normal (HD) Bluray player since all gaming media for the PS3 and PS4 is actually on Bluray disk. Having a UHD Bluray player would be a nice value added feature but unlike a standard Bluray player, it is not essential to gaming and would only benefit a few people.

Definitely, agree with the rest of your comment.

For the XBoxes who disagreed please tell me or better yet give me a URL to where it states that having a UHD player will im...

You are quite right, although if I want to play a PS1 game I just put the disk in my PS3 (all PS3's will play PS1 media). Since I also have a backwards compatible PS3 I can even play PS2 games.

Like I have said before you can "rip" your CD's to mp3's and play them on your PS3 or PS4 if you wish.

So you want to buy a gaming machine to play CD's? Why don't we insist that it has to play cassette or VHS tapes or better yet vinyl records.

Well, you could use your computer to "rip" your CD's to mp3's and play them on your PS3 or PS4 just don't tell the Recording Industry Association of America you are doing this.

If you look at the PS3 and the PS4 what do you think the HD Bluray player is predominately used for?

If you guessed gaming you got it right. If you have a PS3, PS4 or even an XB1 all games media for those machines is on Bluray. It just so happens that you can also play Bluray and even DVD movies but while this is a nice value added feature, it is not the primary purpose of the Bluray player on gaming consoles that have one.

Cue the XB1s which has a UHD Bl...

I don't really care but you don't need a UHD Bluray or even an HD Bluray player (you will need it to install from media though) to play Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4.

@DragonPaw

Techy enough to buy a 4K TV? Really now, even if you are pretty dumb techy wise you can wander into any store that sells TV's and pick up a 4K TV if you have the money. What's techy about that?

Knowing what to look for in size and specifications so you get the best value for your budget is more along the techy side but most people are quite happy with what the salesperson says and if the item looks good to them they are quite happy. <...

You are quite right in that you do need allot of bandwidth for streaming 4K content compared to HD content compared to DVD content and it all depends on the codec you use as well. As an example, if you use H265 instead of H264 (pretty much the standard) you can get approximately 45% to 65% reduction in size without losses. If you also reduce the quality you can get a significant reduction in size again although this is a double edged sword since the more you reduce the quality the more obviou...

@2pacalypsenow

The 4K Bluray standard was only just ratified last year and the first Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray Discs were officially released from four studios on March 1, 2016 - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Sony unveiled the first Blu-ray disc prototypes in October 2000 and the first prototype player was released in April 2003 in Japan with the main release of Bluray disks being June 2...

Purchasing a Virtual Reality headset is not the same as purchasing a TV be it 3D, 1080p or even 4k since you can easily check the set's features in any store that sells them. With VR you really need to test it on yourself since it is a personal device.

Being a personal device each person who is in the market to purchase one really should try before making a decision and that means at the very least about 15 minutes and preferably longer. What is important is the fact th...

I don't really mind MMO's but there is one major turn off and that is you can also see all other players and they are pretty much doing the same thing you are. I don't object to forming a party providing everyone cooperates and not adopt the attitude of everyone for themselves.

If anyone has not tried it, try Neverwinter (it's free) although there is no need to make any in-game purchases (and there are plenty of those) since it is not overly difficult to lev...

I do agree with you but I would also like if there were more random encounters not the same enemies in exactly the same place. At least in DD Dark Arisen the cost of a teleport stone was much more reasonable. On the island, the first meeting with "The Reaper" was a shock to the system.

I definitely liked the battle system in DD, some of those creatures were huge and having the ability to climb on them made some of the battles great fun. The major downside DD (IMHO...

Lets put it this way do you honestly think that most people who own an XB1 would go and purchase an XBox360 game just to play on their XB1? (Yes I know there are some who would but most would not). Backwards compatibility is a great value add and selling point for a console at the start of a generation but it is only a value add two years down the line.

No UHD player. Hmm! then I could say it's a great slap in the face for existing XB1 owners who don't have that fe...

Not going to happen since as "littlezizu" said the IP belongs to Sony although there is always a possibility of them (Wild Arms 3 has) coming to the PS4.

Even so, Wild Arms 1 and 2 are for the PS1 but will play on any PS2 or PS3 and Wild Arms 3 and 4 are PS2 although they will play on the original PS3's as well. You may find it very difficult and in some cases quite expensive to get the original disks although it is possible to put a green parrot on your shoul...

There is Wild Arms 4 (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ) that was released for the PS2 in 2005 although I did not see it until 2007 and by then I was playing PS3 games. Unfortunately, the game was also the same price as AAA PS3 games so I gave it a miss.

There even was a Wild Arms 2 (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ) ...

Nintendo and Microsoft know that emulators are not illegal, but if you download the ROM's for them then you are pirating unless you have the original ROM's (legal minefield here). What Microsoft would be worried about is having the ROM's stored in the cloud or any machine under their control where they could be considered liable.
