Star Citizen called to say "Hi". 😉
I would be quite happy if Sony made native Linux games for the PC. I can't see any disadvantage in that.
Or did you really mean "There is not a single disadvantage for gamers to be able to play PS4 games on PC" under a Microsoft operating system?
What if there are people that don't run a Microsoft Operating system but run a Linux distribution instead because they like to be in control over their PC. I will draw your attention to the Micr...
@rainslacker
There are Linux distributions that do give Microsoft some very stiff competition as in the server room and in the case of supercomputers there is no competition since Linux dominates. These is also Android with it's Linux kernel and over 82% of the market, however it is extremely difficult to beat Microsoft Windows on consumer PC's (ie. Desktops, Laptops and Tablets) since most of those products are sold with a Microsoft Operating System installed (co...
I have not played Elder Scrolls Online so I apologise for any misconceptions but from looking at gameplay it appears not that much different from other MMORPG's (I have played Neverwinter and am currently at level 65) in that you can pretty much see online players doing exactly the same thing you are doing which IMHO is kind of offputting.
At least with Oblivion (over 100 hours) and Skyrim (over 300 hours) you are effectively the only person or group that is actually do...
Rather than me rant why don't you look at the following article: http://www.bigfishgames.com...
The article discusses game preferences by Europe, Japan and the US and if you look at the simple table the most popular genres across the three regions are Action/Adventure with about 34% across the board. Shooters are as follows Japan (4%), Europe (22%) and the US (19%). RPG&...
In many ways I do agree with what you said. The PS4pro is something no one has seen in the PlayStation brand before since it is a more powerful current generation machine although most of its peripherals are the same as the original PS4.
At the moment where I live (Sydney, Australia) gaming shops are offering reasonable trade-ins for 500GB PS4's which I am sure some people will take up. It is also possible that the dedicated gamer will opt to just get the PS4pro and ke...
Even though Scalebound is being made by Platinum Games which is a Japanese company it sort of looks very much like what you could expect of an American game that is typically aimed at teens.
All the gameplay and the voice acting in Scalebound (it actually is an RPG or has RPG features) are IMHO cringeworthy and not many Japanese gamers are going to purchase an XB1 to play it.

I would not say they were weak. Some people are susceptible to motion or perceived motion sickness to varying degrees and in most cases, the issue clears up in a few hours or days. This is not that much more different to epilepsy since there are varying degrees ranging from simple nausea to full-blown and life-threatening shock.
The rules for using the PSVR are in all cases. If you feel any dizziness or nausea then close your eyes, remove the VR headset and rest for an hou...
That is like saying we are going to put in an effort to make sure people who suffer from some sort of epilepsy won't have a reaction to flashing lights. Fortunately, there are very few people who are full blown epileptics but when you switch on your PlayStation you will get a warning aimed specifically at people who can have potential epileptic symptoms such as dizziness, nausea .. etc.
Most 3D TV's were only slightly more expensive than a comparable spec'd HDTV. Some 3D glasses were passive in that they did not need a battery (see some LG screens) although most 3D TV's did require active glasses (more expensive) which required batteries (some were rechargeable). You can even get 3D UHD TV's that are not much more expensive than their equivalent counterparts. I will concede that 3D glasses can be an annoyance (subjective) particularly if you wear glasses. ...
I don't think many people realised that the PS4 also had voice control day one. All you needed was to plug in your ear bud & microphone (standard with each PS4) to your controller and speak. Granted it was not as elaborate as the Kinect but it did and still works.
I'll explain it in simpler terms.
You don't need a TV as a display device if you a using the PSVR, think of it as a private virtual display device.
The PSVR can integrate with a TV, however the wearer of the headset will see what the headset displays and anyone else can see what the TV displays which could be similar although not necessarily the identical and can be used for coop games.

The PC is an open system. Really!
I will concede that the hardware for the PC is open but the PC is effectively a doorstop unless it has an operating system and therein lies the problem.
If you are running an open operating system such as Linux or openBSD then you have full control, however if you have a proprietary operating system as in Microsoft Windows you don't own the operating system Microsoft does and when you agr...
When I hear Angry Joe say those words he really does mean what he says and then he provides evidence as to why the developers' "Done Fsckd it up". He never said this in regard to Mafia III.
One thing you should note is Angry Joe did make three pre Youtube shorts with regard to Mafia II in the lead up to his fourth and final review of the game.
Anyway rather than me rant, watch his review then make up your own mind.
I am pretty sure the Sony exec's have already asked for production of the PSVR headsets to be ramped up.
The next question to ask is how many PS4pros will sell this year? If the PS4pro sells out on the 10th November I am pretty sure a request to ramp up production will also be sent to the appropriate factory.
I think this type of mentality is the one that gives the green light to developers to ship games with missing content that really should be part of the game in the first place. You know the type, the one that wants the latest skin and/or weapon when they are too lazy to get it by playing the game properly.
It's worse when these "spoilt princesses" complain that a game is too hard for them and it's their god given right to get an easy mode.or some uber wea...
The same was the case for the PS4 launch and it did not settle down till after the new year.
Well, you could get this 15TB one http://www.pcworld.com/arti... if you have a spare $10,000 USD floating around.
The original PS4 is being discontinued and replaced by the PS4slim so the so called "slim" is the PS4 going forward.
The PS4pro is the big question mark. It will sell and IMHO sell well but it will not replace the PS4slim since there is a $100 USD between them so if people have a UHD or a high-quality HD TV it may be a better option to purchase the PS4pro over the PS4slim. If you have a generic HDTV then the PS4slim may be the better and cheaper option since you ...
Could not agree more, too much "latency" for any type of streaming game can be a killer. Some MMO's are more forgiving compared to shooters where even a 100ms may not be good enough.
