@Chris12
No factual information.? Well if you do have factual information then I am all ears. I would even go as far as saying that most people here would be interested in factual information.
If you want factual or maybe in your case hearsay why don't you try a search using the following: "Windows 10 privacy" or "Sales figures for XBox 1" or "Sales figures for" {name your XB1 game}. In the case of game sales, you will ge...
If you can point to a different site which has better and more accurate information then we are all ears.
Of course, you can go directly to Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony and I am sure they would be happy to provide you with "actual" figures. 😉
I am fairly certain I am going to get disagrees on this.
Assuming VGChartz numbers for ReCore sales of 56,733 in the first week have a margin of error of say +50% and -20% and the game sells for $40 USD (let's not go into discounts and markups - I can but it will get confusing) then ReCore will have sold between $3,403,980.00 USD and $2,723,184.00 USD.
The above is simple arithmetic although I have made what I would call a fair informed guess with reg...
Without going into a long tirade with regard to statistics any type of analysis will have a margin of error unless you collect the required information directly from the manufacurer (physical copies made), distributor (physical copies shipped) and sales (physical and digital copies sold to the customer) and the parties concerned are willing to give out that information.
All of the above are available to the people directly involved with just a simple database search. The pr...
Basics Statistics - lecture 1
Most statics are derived from a sample and if that sample is small compared to the total population then you are going to have what is commonly called an error bar or if you like an uncertainty which is proportional to the sample to the total population.
In simple terms say we have 100 retail chains worldwide that are willing to give you sales figures for the products they sell you can work out fairly accurately the sales of ...
The information was taken from VGChartz (17th Sep 2016) which like it or not is still a more reliable source of gaming statistics than any other sites I have looked at. The game that topped the charts was NBA 2K17 (PS4)
(639,456) and NBA 2K17 (XOne) (349,550) compared to ReCore (XB1) (56,733).
You can take statistics to the extream and assume that the figures are 50% out which would mean ReCore had global sales in the first week between 85,099 and 28,366 which is n...
It would be interesting to know how many PSVR's were sold on day one.
It was pretty obvious that the PSVR would be sold out in Australia unless you pre-ordered and surprisingly there was very little hype. I would not be surprised if the same is true around the world.
Still, there is no way I will buy the PSVR unless I try it first and just playing a VR game while nice is not going to cut it since I want to test out cinema mode as well. Most of the VR ...
Take a look at Microsoft's dominance of the desktop. When you do that Sony's so-called arrogance pales into insignificance.
I will draw your attention to Microsoft's EULA (if you care to read it) which basically grants you the right to use their operating system (you don't own it) and you can only run it one one machine. You must agree to the EULA when installing or using your PC for the first time.
I could go on but I won't bore you e...
The PS4 can already play games at 1080p 60fps. Here is a list if you don't believe me: http://www.videogamerplus.c...
I would not hold my breath for Sony to bring fist party games to the Microsoft walled garden that would negate the reason for having a Playstation console.
Actually, the developers do owe us an incentive to purchase their games and it is up to us the paying public to decide if those incentives are worth it.
So as far as I am concerned the incentive to purchase RoTR new is dwindling rapidly since I have no real interest in extra skins, therefore I am not keen on paying the same price that game was a year ago.
@-Foxtrot
I actually still have TR1, 2 and 3 for the PS1 and even on my BC PS3 th...
You are quite right most readers here would probably know little if anything about the Japanese anime and gaming industry. Even if some people here like anime most would wait for the Dub in their language so they would never be aware of the actual Japanese voices.
Even though I have very little understanding of the Japanese language I know enough to know if subtitles are actually following the gist of the story and on some occasions I actually prefer the Japanese voices wit...
So far with Star Citizen, all I have seen are tech demos although admittedly they do look great. Still aiming for the high-end PC market which is relatively small is IMHO either arrogance, stupidity or poor business sense or some combination of those three.
Conveniently forgot the cost of the OS unless you like a green parrot on your shoulder or you run Linux. Also forgot the keyboard and mouse (a decent one is not exactly cheap).
What about a decent monitor (4K is not cheap) , after all you don't want to fight with other members of your household for the TV.
Also did you take into account the cost of assembly and installation of the OS? people who know how to do this would not consider such a cheap mach...
They conveniently forgot the monitor as well as the keyboard and mouse, but I will give kudos for including the price of the operating system and a 256GB SSD although as a system disk a 60GB or 120GB SSD is good enough.
I am aware that you can get a cheap keyboard and mouse but if you are a serious gamer or even someone who aspires to be one you go for a decent one and a good one does cost. As for a monitor (also conveniently forgotten) yes I am aware that you could use the...
Oh well in no particular order prepare to "git gud" and die again.
Even with the standard PS4 Bloodborne looks fantastic on an IPL monitor or a 55" 200Hz HDTV
I won't mainly because I don't pre-order so the first batch will most likely be sold out. No problem I can wait since I have a PS4 which is still under warranty and I also have a high-end PC which IMHO the best of all worlds.
I do think the PS4pro is excellent value for the money, especially when you consider it comes standard with a 1TB disk, is graphically twice as powerful as a standard PS4 and is only $100 USD more expensive.
I have a 55" 200Hz HDTV and games even at 1080p 30Hz do look nice but when you pay a game running at 60fps it does look so much smoother especially if the game is fast paced such as what you have in FPS's. High resolution and frame rates are nice and can add to the overall enjoyment of any game, however this is subjective and IMHO the best game is a game you truly enjoy playing no matter what other people say.
I did see the latest video of Star Citizen and it was impressive as it should be, but this game has been in development from October 2012 (about four years) and so far we have seen tech demos and test releases which to be fair are actually quite nice but what will get people talking is a proposed release date and IMHO many people will forgive a release being deferred as long as it is not deferred for too long.
In July 2014 Developer(s) said "Consoles couldn't possi...
That's funny since I do have some games that I run on the PS4 that are 1080p @ 60fps. A simple search using "PS4 games running 1080p @ 60fps" will find them. If you can't be bothered you can try the following: http://www.videogamerplus.c...
The Playstation is a games machine and all the disk players have been used for games media, it just so happens that those players can also be used for other things like playing movies. A UHD player has nothing to do with games media so why put one in?
I won't deny a UHD player is a nice feature but it would only be good for playing UHD movie Bluray disks of which there are only a few compared to DVD and HD Bluray. Of course, you could use it to play DVD and HD Bluray mo...
