Interesting... First I've heard of this, I played through the entire game and my wife is just about finished with her play through. Neither of us ever have had a single problem, thought it was a pretty solid bug free game.
I hope they fix this soon, I know I'd be pissed if I was one of the people affected by this...
@Dlacy13g
I'm not saying that it necessarily SHOULD be done, just that it's not such a big deal if it IS done.
Plus, I remember reading somewhere that the plan wasn't to rewrite the ending, but to provide additional content that ties things together better.
I'm all for that provided it's free DLC, otherwise there's going to be another S#!tstorm over it...
Also I agree with you that changing things after relea...
dude... spoilers...
But I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I didn't have so much of a problem with the ending. Like you said no ending is going to make everyone happy. But at the same time, you gotta admit it was a little bit of a let down after going through the whole game and making some relatively tough decisions along the way, only to have those decisions play a very small role in the final moments that wrap up the entire series.
No, Leonardo should be under no obligation to change the piece, I fully agree with that. But in the end it's still his decision to make that work of art pleasing for himself all others be damned, or rework it in a way that everyone can enjoy.
One choice makes his work something that the masses will write off and never look back at, the other gains him fame and respect for creating something the general population loves.
Should have read on, the article gives some great supporting points.
WTF is up with people here on n4g with posts like "Stop reading at such and such point, there are no other valid perspectives than my own"
lol Saladfax, gotta stretch the old e-penis far as it'll go!
I get ya, but I live in a small apartment, and saving space is important to me.
I for one feel no shame showing off my 200+ game collection in Steam's grid view which I have up most of the time on my second monitor
Agreed, it amazes me how good they made this game look compared to the specs needed to run it...
Does anyone know if it is a proprietary engine or if its licensed?
Exactly, it's not like a guy could get fired for leaking info that a company doesn't want made public yet...
@gamingdroid
So you're saying that when you buy a used game with an online pass you can't pop it in your console and play the campaign from beginning to end? That it is a completely non-functional plastic coaster?
@Cupid_Viper_3
I think a more accurate comparison would be a Manufacturer of the car that offers free satellite radio and oil-changes to the original owner, as a way of saying thank you for supporting us.
The next owner gets a second hand car, there's no reason that a person buying a hand-me-down should be entitled to all the perks of buying something new...
On the other hand, I AM personally disappointed with the way the whole DLC thin...
Actually, Nintendo made THIS gen about gimmicks. Microsoft may continue to run with it, as they often do with other people's good ideas...
I doubt they see their core market as Kinect users though, that was just an (arguably successful) attempt to sell to the Wii crowd. I don't see it as being the central experience to next-gen gaming.
I guess Nintendo is fine with aligning their brand as a platform for kids and casuals. Sure there are some adult games, (I for one enjoyed many mindless slaughter filled hours playing Madworld when it came out) but this kind of reaction from Nintendo makes it far less likely that I'll ever give serious thought to getting the Wii U.
Censorship Booooooooooooooo!
I agreed with some of what you said, then there was this...
"the bigger retail stores won't care about video games anymore because the competition isn't there."
As long as there is a multi-billion dollar gaming industry, there will always be competition between stores that stock games, simple economics.
Gamestop does need a reality check though, the ratio of trade-in value to the price they resell stuff for is just insane. It blows m...
I get what you're saying, and I totally agree that some games shouldn't try to add online play just for the sake of having it. But in the end, it was a poor decision on the part of the developer and the result is crap.
There are games that find a balance, so it's not the fact that the multiplayer functionality has ruined the game, it was the developer.
There are good games, and there are bad games, plain and simple... It's not a case of sing...
No disrespect... But couldn't you just, I dunno, NOT read every little update that is released about a new game you're looking forward to?
I'm so sick of people using the argument that multiplayer gaming is ruining single player gaming. If a game seems to have more focus on multiplayer and does it well, while the single player seems bland and uninspired, then its a multiplayer game. It should be taken as such then.
There is a difference between these two modes, would you rather each game be ONLY single player or ONLY multiplayer? You would probably end up bitching about that too.
Truth is ...
I don't expect games to be flawless upon release, but take a look at how common it is for a game to have a patch available day 1.
This is proof that Devs are taking advantage of this gen's online connectivity and patching as a way to publish a game that is unfinished, and use the extra time before the street date to fix a few last minute details that they already knew needed to be ironed out.
This can be a problem for people without their system hoo...
LOL I was wondering the same thing. If this had happened in the US of A that would be the headline: "SuperViolentGameX causes teen to brutally stab mother"
And the exact same thing can be said about piracy... Just sayin...
