@CanadianTurtle-
You intrigued me so I headed over to Metacritic, and sadly, I could not find scores for any of the games you mentioned...
Your argument is irrelevant. Yes, apples to apples spec for spec a dedicated game console is more capable than a PC. However, the CPUs and GPUs of next gen consoles fall into the mid-range performance area compared to what's available on the PC hardware market.
People who pull out the arguments like the ones you're using are completely naive in the areas they are talking about. Do you even know the amount of processing power required to run Windows 7/8?
WOW, Sony fandom attack!!! The title is a little misleading to anyone who knows nothing about business, and didn't read the article...
Ultimately, the "cost" being referred to is the opportunity cost, or the things that Nvidia would have to give up to pursue a deal with Sony.
From article: "We're building a whole bunch of stuff," continued Tamasi, "and we had to look at console business as an opportunity cost. If we say, did ...
With all this talk about latency being a non-issue, no one seems to be bringing up the point that if you want to enjoy cloud gaming anywhere near lag free you basically need a wired connection (Or a top tier internet subscription and high end wireless router). I'm sure there's a lot of people, myself included, with wifi connected consoles who will still have noticeable lag regardless of server-side speed boosts.
I speak from experience that playing OnLive between my l...
From article-
"Most importantly, the Durango is presumed to have an even more advanced version of Kinect built-in. Such a move indicates that Microsoft wants to make its motion and voice command capabilities a major feature of the next console"
I think it's pretty funny that the author of this seems to be putting down the next Xbox because Kinect integration is somehow "going a completely different route" but nowhere does he acknowledge that PS...
That's what she said
..Sorry, couldn't resist
To piggyback on what Strifeblade said, "kinect should be used to enhance the eperience currently present with a normal controller. "

Only an idiot has this happen to them, fails to contact the company about fixing the problem, and then complains about problem not being fixed... If he contacted customer service, explained the situation and was able to prove his identity, things could get sorted out.

Hatsune - Why would they be trying to cater to PC gamers? They already have um... Gaming PCs...
The steam box is meant to cater to console gamers who don't want to worry about the whole hardware thing.
haha, made me think of this:

"I developed software to convert the continents of World of Warcraft into Minecraft blocks..."
"I created a special program to help do this assignment, but selecting materials for all 10,000-plus textures in the game still required many hours of work."
He created custom programs to do the heavy lifting. Very Impressive.
I don't have a smart phone so I think I'll just get the open source console with a controller.
If that's okay with you...
There is/was a console like onlive. They called it onlive.
@Zidane
I don't think they need to create a different version of the patch... Steam isn't a platform, it's more a DRM thing. Your game is running on windows (or mac) and not steam.
Any given update should work the same across any service you buy the game from, be it Steam, GFWL, or god forbid, Origin... As long as they're running on the same OS, the same patch should work...
@Heartnet
Don't forget the cost of the disc and the cost of transportation of all this material, warehouse space, and a bunch of other little expenses.
It all adds up to a much bigger number. Do you really think the reason a lot of companies are going "green" and paperless and all that is because it good for the environment? That's just the PR headline, they do it to cut costs, large costs...
@Sev
I know your situation all too well. I always end up spending way more that I originally intended, then spend the next week hopping from game to game while I figure out which one to invest myself in first...
Had to chuckle to myself seeing that disagree for your comment, like someone saying "F-you man, you have the time..."
Split hairs all you want over the wording, but you know damn well that's not the real argument.
Yes, the WiiU is coming out at a later period of time from it's predecessor so by the dictionary its part of the new "generation," but that's not whats really being argued here. It's the question of whether or not it provides a significant increase in processing and rendering over the other current consoles.
