You leave Dreamcast out of this!
lol
@jackB
Who’s giving Sony a pass? Vita owners (like myself also) have been very disappointed and even pissed off with the fact that support and games seemed to dry up after the first couple years. I doubt Sony will make another go at handhelds for quite some time, if ever, but if they do you can bet it will be looked at skeptically by even the biggest PS fans.
Should we throw away our PS4s and boycot PS5 because they gave up on the vita? That would be stupid and doe...
@shinrock-
Of course it’s going to seem that way when PS has an install base double that of Xbox this gen...
Why would you expect anything close to a 1:1 distribution of fans on a gaming news site? Is what it is.
@Deehulk
Wouldn’t you prefer not having strict brand loyalty and the option to enjoy 10/10.
60% is what? Normally a D grade?
The sad part is, they don’t really desperately long for freedom. They’re so accustomed to the status quo there that they actively “thought police” their own minds. When presented with foreign ideas and media that goes against what their government tells them, they actively shut it out. Incredibly sad.
How can you say such things?!
Everyone knows that on multiplats, when you compare the screenshots and zoom in on trees in the distant background, they’re going to be so much more crisp and clear on the XSX!
I kid. I’m right with you, differences will be minimal. Everyone arguing over the specs and deciding which console they’re going to defend next gen, and I just want to know the launch lineups...
“ You are gonna see resolution differences you are gonna see way better ray tracing better textures and all the other graphical goodness out there on the series x. Not to mention up to double the FPS.“
I’m not sure how you figure it’s going to be that dramatic of a difference. Look at the ps pro and one x. Do we see that level of difference there? I don’t. Games like HZD, God of War, Forza, Gears 5, etc. are all comfortably within the same class of graphical detail and perf...
Well said!!!
“Hoping” is not entitlement.
Why the high horse, bro?
What we really need ‘during these times’ is a little positivity.
@timotim
God of War, hell yes! It was successfully rebooted and fresh as ever.
Uncharted, meh maybe not. I’m of the camp that the series wrapped up nicely.
R&C + GT, genres that aren’t my main interest, might pick up on sale at best.
@echo
The point is still valid. Console identity is everything. In most cases it comes from exclusives.
In the Wii U’s case, it tried to capitalize on the Wii’s identity long after most actual gamers were over it and ended up with this weird ass mutant of a system that didn’t know what it was.
Not interested in how many games I’ve already owned I’ll be able to continue playing. Still plan on keeping my one x and pro...
Show us the new hotness already!!
TLOU is not on its 6 - 12th iteration
Holy crap... you say we’re getting a Halo, Gears, and Forza?!?!?
Best. Year. Ever.
I’m not even in a big city, and we have a GameStop as well as an independent shop that sells used games. They deal more with previous gen games, but would change if GS leaves town.
I think there’s another half dozen similar type shops within a 30 min drive. We’ll all survive without GameStop. Not to mention, good to support local businesses.
As long as they continue to add to their list and all major exclusives are covered, I can live with it.
Fans of more niche games have a right to be disappointed but it’s comical how much of a big deal people are making it. I plan to hang on to my Pro and X. If it’s such a big deal to be able to play current gen games for the next few years just resist the urge to hawk your current console for the few bucks it’ll get you.
That said, Sony did drop the ball...
I wouldn’t say WAY more powerful. The percent difference in tflops is half what xbo and ps4 started with this gen. Difference in visuals was not drastic, so don’t expect it to be this time either.
Also funny he points out xsx is a whole ps4 ahead of ps5, when you play the same numbers against current launch models ps4 was an entire 360 ahead of xbo. 😂😂
No biggie, I’ll own both within a year of launch, just show us the games already so I can st...
I think I feel pretty much the same with most 1st party Nintendo games..
Don’t write off all Mario though. I’d suggest giving mario odyssey a try if you haven’t yet. It deserves its praise for the most part.
Love me some stability
I’m paid up for game pass the next 3 years and have a OneX. Given the cross gen focus of MS this time around, I figure I won’t miss out on much picking up PS5 day one.
I’ll get SX once I burn through the ps launch window games, if there’s anything enticing in the launch lineup on that side. Fingers crossed that MS delivers with all the studio acquisitions for next gen. Sincerely. I like good games and don’t care whose box I stick it in...
