If you are a Sony fanboy then yes for the rest of us it's alive and kicking.
It already has.
All depends on how you do them and whether the quests are meaningful and thoughtful rather than fetch this or turn this valve. Some open world games try to mix it up with "detective" quests but they are often just follow the invisible path with your detective vision and end up just as boring as the fetch quests.
I think quests can be done right like in Dying Light and the Following or in Metro Exodus or even Far Cry 5 where they were story based and multifaceted b...
Because they aren't Sony games - different rules apply to them, get with the program!
Looking forward to this. If 343 fulfils it's promise of both a great single and multiplayer game then it could be a contender for game of the year. We have seen them do both but in separate games so now they have to put it all together in Infinite. Hopefully the new engine makes it easier for them to make that promise reality. Unfortunate that we have to wait so long for it though, make it worth the wait 343!
Can't wait to see more at E3.
You are way over estimating Bioware. Reading that Kotaku article the reason Anthem was as it was at launch was nothing to do with GaaS and some long term strategy but just pure incompetence and bad management.
Yes it was Randy's way of helping him to "method act". Randy's good that way.
The depth to character progression and base building in SoD is incredible, DG doesn't have anything like that but does have an in depth story and world design which is my point.
I'm pretty sure no one who commented here actually read the article which in my opinion was spot on. There seems to be a divide between gameplay and narrative in regard to exclusives on PS and Xbox with the former focusing almost exclusively on narrative and Xbox on gameplay. I'm sure it's because they see those as their respective strengths but it would be nice to see both move towards the other so we get more complete games. I enjoy both types of games but would love to get more...
Is it the zombies (sorry "freakers") which made DG mediocre or is it the check box ticking open world game template and story we have seen a million times before that makes it so? The scrambling hordes of zombies were it's chance to differentiate itself but that didn't seem to be enough.
To be fair though RE2 is really just a facelift to a game from a time where originality was seen as a plus and that gives it an immediate advantage.
Hopefully a release date is revealed too and it's this year.
And here we have the 900th article about single player games and how they aren't dying and are awesome, Ok we got the memo guys.
What I would like to see is an article about how most AAA single player games are being made from a check box template these days where the only things that set them apart are the type of thing you have to kill and where it's set - that's the big problem, not the supposed death of single player games. If big AAA single player games ke...
You are totally right just wish people would admit it instead of all these "everyone loses" articles. You are also correct about From Software, it is their game and if they don't want to add an easier mode that is their right to do so, no one should force them but it would be simple change probably adding the new menu item in the UI would be the hardest thing.
The negative would be the game would lose a lot of its reputation amongst the elitist and game revie...
This is just nerdy elitist gate keeping at it's worst. It doesn't hurt anyone if it has an easy mode, it just means that people can't brag about seeing the ending when another person who isn't as good at the game saw it as well. If this worries anyone then they have got problems.
Introducing Rise: Son of Borderlands.
What has that got to do with the article or the OP? Way to go being totally off topic and bring your own agenda into it. Can't believe people are up-voting you.
One of my favourite game series coming back to life (pun intended) and Warner Bros has a good publisher track record for me with Batman, Mad Max and the Mordor games, can't wait.
I can't even wrap my head around someone thing the L4D series was garbage. I know opinions and all that but that's super bizarre. Why do you think those games were garbage?
You must be down voted by people who have never played the L4D series.
All those articles have a top comment that craps all over the game and 90% of the comments disagree with the articles. With Days Gone it's the complete opposite. This is a Sony shop around here and we both know it, stop pretending it isn't..
