Even a gas station clerk can tell when a game has been in development for over 8 years with absolutely nothing to show but some vertical pieces its time to cancel it and move on.

We been saying that for years now but Xbox fanboys refuse to accept the fact it's an amazing deal for gamers and worst for developers and publishers who depend on games sales which equals to their royalties snd bonuses

15 million players played doesn't mean much to a developer but only 2 million were sales. With all the wrong decisions MS have made with Xbox brand since 2011 till now there is no turning back. Whether we like it or not in 10 years time Xbox will be ...

The 2 games you named were actually games while perfect dark was nothing more than concept of what it could become. I am all for creative freedom but I am against Studios managing themselves because a lot of times the creative people don't know how to manage or how to run the business side of things

Sony likely wouldn’t mind putting Helldivers 2 on Game Pass — if the price tag hits eight figures. But considering all the recent layoffs and internal cutbacks, it’s clear Microsoft is looking to rein in Xbox-related expenses. So realistically, why would they shell out that kind of money right now?

Phil Spencer and Xbox leadership have also reshaped the mindset of the Xbox fanbase — and not necessarily in a good way. It’s like in professional sports: if you’re a max-level p...

Seriously started in 2016 if I am not wrong and had nothing to show actual gameplay wise. 9 years of resources wasted

Atleast Sony got a game out and not spend 9 years trying to reboot 1 franchise. Or spend 500 million on halo infinite only to basically kill the IP until it can get a proper reboot via a remake

Why would Sony allow GP on their console or even Nintendo? GP is great for gamers and bad for business. TAKE TWO CEO said it best a while ago GP should be for legacy titles not brand new AAA games that cost hundreds of millions to make. We are seeing that MS no longer want to fund Xbox related expenses, they want Xbox to be self sufficient

You are wrong they will not leave hardware because having their own hardware meaning not only GP related income but all the 3rd party ...

This is the sad reality of where so many of these big corporations and AAA gaming has come to AI is only going to get bigger and these corporations will try to get rid of as many people as possible and just try to replace them with AI not realizing the actual people bring with them genuine ideas emotions passion that AI simply cannot replicate

I am not against AI it should be used to make the experience better not to actually create the experience itself as I'm growing ...

Microsoft spent half a billion dollars on Halo Infinite—and we all saw how that turned out. I just don’t get why they don’t hit reset on the entire franchise. Remake Halo 1, 2, and 3 properly, then continue the story from there. It’s not that complicated.

Honestly, a lot of this comes down to mismanagement. The studios clearly lack a unified vision. How do you have Microsoft’s level of resources and still release games in such a broken state?

Now there’s ...

I am a very opinionated person so I usually right a lot of stuff using voice typing to fix it later. No a single word in that text came from AI

They spent billions to acquire talent and studios, but failed to put the right management in place to ensure success. Microsoft isn't the first company to make this mistake, and they won't be the last. The truth is, the gaming industry we once knew is gone. It’s no longer about creativity, passion, or listening to fans—it’s about spreadsheets, quarterly reports, and decisions made to satisfy shareholders, not gamers.

We’re watching the soul of an art form get hollow...

Arrowhead already know that so Sony doesn't need to show any data. I think it's as simple as live service games will be released on other platforms

That's the biggest thing these companies keep breaking revenue records and keep laying off thousands. Gaming has just been turned into a spread sheet with hedge funds and private equity investments. If MS as a 3 trillion dollar company can't keep these people employed than we are screwed

And I get it they fire them only to hire them as contractors do they don't have to pay any benefits. Just a broken system IMO all about greed

I’ve genuinely lost hope in gaming—not because the medium lacks potential, but because the industry is being hollowed out from the inside.

At the center of the problem are hedge funds, private equity firms, and short-term investors who have no interest in creativity, quality, or the joy games can bring. They don’t care if a game is fun or meaningful—only that revenue grows every quarter, no matter the human or artistic cost. That’s why, like clockwork, companies lay off hun...

Even if Xbox only sells 50 million consoles next generation, Microsoft still wins. Why? Because Game Pass is the foundation of their long-term strategy — and it’s working. With 35–40 million subscribers paying monthly, Xbox doesn’t need to dominate hardware to be highly profitable.

Here’s the real model:

Xbox sells a console.

Players sign up for Game Pass.

They buy accessories.

Microsoft sells games...

Kojima productions had a contract in place and Nintendo were made aware of it before the acquisition most likely so even if Nintendo said no there wasn't much they could do

When Kojima originally signed the contract it was not a Nintendo owned subsidiary. That's why Nintendo name shouldn't be invoked in this since they didn't have anything to do with it before or after
