I think ms wanted to announce something before Sony and did so. There was never a plan to announce neo at e3. Many within ha selling of Sony's e3 said the show was sealed done and delivered months ago
Once again Sony made ms show its hand early

Now Sony will do a whole event around announcement of neo and get all the hype behind it most likely in 2017
