It is called "Marketing".
Whether it was Sony waiting until the last minute to admit that they will ship some nextgen games on both PS4 and PS5
or
Microsoft not telling us what platforms games will be on until the last minute.
Neither side can claim that they are any more righteous then the other.
Nice. An Indiana Jones game being developed by the same development studio that works on Wolfenstein!
This is exciting! (Although, as usual no gameplay)
The paranoid survive.
Now-a-days misinformation is everywhere. Scams are rampant on the internet and people are spreading information that is simply untrue everywhere.
Although I don't think this one was a scam, it is good for people to be looking out for them.
PSP / Vita were the best handheld gaming devices ever made!

Why would they announce the release date of a game in Februrary (Supposedly R&C) AFTER they announce the release date of a game in May (Returnal).
That makes zero sense.
In other news Chevrolet announced that 2022 vehicles will ship in November of 2021 and we have yet to see a release date for 2021 vehicles.
How can they ship a AAA game in February?
You do realize that publishers (especially 1st party publishers) make their release dates clear for their games not only to market the game but to do things like produce discs, ship to retail, and coordinate with other publishers so that a bunch of big games are not shipping at the same time where possible.
I doubt very highly that R&C ships in February. I expect the earliest it ships is in June. That would ...
I do prefer the battery option. I hate it when my controller dies and I have to plug it in. I have a large TV and am over 10' away from my XB when I play it is nice to run out of juice and just change the batteries.
I also have PS3 & 4. When my controller runs out of battery life I switch back to playing on my XB.
I like that XB gives me choice. This is not something everyone wants, but I like choice because I game on a variety of TVs, in a va...
Hard to tell based on the small amount of gameplay seen so far whether it is fully nextgen, but yes, it is nice to see games not shipping on past gen consoles.
Yeah! An announced AAA game that actual has a real release date in 2021!
The world is improving!
Looking forward to this one.
I have it on PS4 and am enjoying it just as much as the original Insomniac Spider-man. Nothing wrong with playing it on PS4.
Just finished the Hivebusters Campaign DLC in Gears and it was really good.
Started Doom Eternal as well. It is the best FPS in a while. I can see why it got nominations at the GOTY awards in the first 20 mins of play. Silky smooth engine, realistic environment, and completely addictive FPS gameplay.
I doubt half of those games ship in 2021.
This is a more conservative list then most. But, with COVID I think it is optimistic that some of those games ship in 2021.

I am not sure MS would be too concerned about breaking contracts when they acquire a studio. They just look at the $100 billion they have of cash on hand and there is not a single gaming lawsuit that could even count as a dent in that cash.
I think their stance to honor contracts is three-fold. 1) They can make money from all these games shipping on other platforms and that helps pay for the buy outs. 2) The studios themselves pour a lot of sweat into...
Why is the Switch cheating just because it is multi-functional as a portable and a console? If anything I would like to see the same from PS and XB. I love the idea of a high powered console that can be portable.
@utopiancat
How is my post a deflection back to PlayStation?
My first point has nothing to do with PlayStation.
My second point, is facts about the current games that have shipped on both PS5 and XB Series. If anything it is a compliment that PS has the "most nextgen" game out to date not a deflection.
My third point is a statement about how long it takes devts to start making truly next gen games.
@utopiancat
I complete disagree. Having a current generation (very capable) XB portable would appeal to a lot of gamers I think. Not just being able to stream but also having storage space for the latest 3-5 AAA games.
One thing I would love to see, is after a year or two here, Microsoft announce a "Switch" like Series S device. They have now separated the performance of two next gen consoles into two streams, making the Series S portable would make a lot of sense for broadening XB's gaming anywhere idea.
There will be many more... Essentially, any game that doesn't have a specific ship date yet, could move to next year.
I am particularly worried by all the games that are scheduled for holiday 2021. A lot of them could move to next year.
