Nope. Peter always promised but never fully delivered.
Ninja Theory is going to deliver.
To me new IPs are not a requirement. There is no guarantee that creating a new IP will result in anything positive.
I feel both God of War and Gears reinvented themselves well last generation. After God of War Ascension and Gears Judgement I felt both series were dead for ideas. Gears 4 was more of the same, but I really enjoyed Gears 5 and the holiday Hivebusters DLC. The last God of War was nothing short of perfect!

Yes, there will always be new viruses, people should have the choice to wear a mask or not, but with COVID-19 people are being asked to wear a mask, not because there are government is running our lives, but to make sure that hospitals are not over run with COVID-19 patients. The health care systems around the world are stressed more then they ever have been. Wearing a mask is a small thing that everyone can do to help lesson the strain on health care worldwide.
Covid is a real issue not an excuse. Development teams are large for games and require a lot of collaboration and the custom tools for game development are not well suited to working remotely.
There was real pain with developers when COVID broke and we are seeing that translated to delays. Expect more games to be delayed as well. The world doesn't seem like it is getting back to normal until at least late spring or summer.
They announced God of War and GT for 2021 as well (I know they aren't part of the article, but they were announced for 2021).
GT was delayed a few weeks ago. I am sure GoW will be delayed as well.
That is just how 2021 will be. The year of the delays. Sony still has a great lineup with R&C, Returnal, and Horizon! Don't really need to do more.

XB Games that shipped in the past 12 months that were either Microsoft published or developed.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Metacritic 90
Minecraft Dungeons - Metacritic 72
Bleeding Edge - Metacritic 66
Gears Tactics - Metacritic 80
Flight Simulator - Metacritic 91
Wasteland 3 - Metacritic 79
You don't seem to have much facts on your side other then bleeding edge (For the past year). ...
The Wii U was a full flop as far as I was concerned. Nintendo is not my primary console. I honestly think that Switch was Nintendo's last kick at their own console.
Personally I like a variety of games. Not just mature or not just family stuff. I play good games. And a game doesn't have to be family friendly nor mature to be good.
We will see what Switch sales are like against PS4 by the time they introduce a replacement. But, at current rat...
Ya, I took three years off of buying CoD. Cold War's campaign looked interesting so I picked it up during Christmas/New Year's sales. Got to three chapters in and was extremely disappointed. As I said, I took three years off and the AI was pretty much exactly the same, the gameplay was pretty much exactly the same, and each mission felt like just a variant of some mission I have played in the past. I like the series, but I won't be buying it near full price in the future. At ...
I doubt there is that many nostalgia and loyalty gamers out there.
Nintendo is successful because their games appeal across a broad spectrum of people/gamers. Also Nintendo is know for family friendly games. And its portability also helps.
Sony and Microsoft can learn a lot from Nintendo.
Facts are... If you count Switch as the last generation Nintendo will probably end up in first place. If you count it in this generation, they...
@chiefJohn117
Sony has stated all of these games for 2021.
Horizon, Destruction All-Stars, Returnal, and R&C are supposed to be in the first half of this year.
GoW for the holidays.
GT just got delayed out of the first half a couple weeks ago.
@Nyxus
Yup. Agreed. Title sucks.
We all know that XB does not have exclusive games to a OS or console platform. That just does not exist.
Guess maybe the marketing would be more....
"These are PS excluded games"?
*Except Yakuza and Psychonauts 2 of course*
LOL. OK I am confused.
Sony definitely has advertised Returnal, R&C, Horizon, GoW, and GT (I think a few more too, but can't remember).
And on the third party the games look great too.
If they deliver half those games, they have this year locked up for sure!
If you actually read the text below the game header they admit it is not exclusive. Just worth noting because these Yakuza games have never been on XB.
This is looking interesting and unique.
This is what will happen a lot this year.
While platform holders talked about games getting easier and faster to output last year. The reality is that only games that are the same as previous games are faster and easier to make.
Games where there is innovation will take longer to make and because of Cyberpunk and COVID expect a lot of games to be delayed this year. 2021 will be known as the year of delays. We are in January and for the first half of th...
Quality is a continuum from extremely bad to extremely good.
There are publishers/developers on the extremely bad side and then there are publishers/developers on the extremely good side.
I wouldn't put Ubisoft and their studios on the bad side at all, but I won't say they are extremely good either. To me they are somewhat good to very good at times. I am not sure why gamers are so hard on them. There are different types of music and movies. ...
In the video the leadership team took full responsibility for the shipped product and said that their testing was inadequate, the older consoles were challenging to work with, and COVID also played a role.
I'm not sure what is wrong with what was said.
Did you expect them to say that are testers are losers, our team sucked, and we should just dig and hole, jump in and bury ourselves?
There is a delicate balance in a video like thi...
I do like that Star Wars is letting other publishers/developers take on Star Wars games.
But, lets just hope they don't that the theme is quality over quantity.
@BigTrain
Microsoft first party studios has a few new IPs scheduled....
Grounded will exit preview this year, Avowed, Everwild, Project Mara, rumour has it Compulsion has a new IP, and rumour has it inXile has a new IP.
And once MS has ZeniMax they will own Deathloop and Ghostwire both new IPs (Although it is ironic that MS will own two games that were PS [probably timed] exclusives).
