You know.... I can afford and do buy every console...
But, not every gamer can afford to by a Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony console and are forced to choose just one.
Also, buying multiple consoles puts your player profile on multiple networks. I would like my entire gaming profile to be on one network.... Instead of spending about $1,500 for three consoles + accessories + network subscriptions it would be really good to save that mo...
Call of Duty is dead to me. I took a three year break from buying any games in the franchise. Say the marketing for CoD BO Cold War and thought maybe they are doing something good this year, so I bought it. BIG MISTAKE!
The engine is old and out dated, the AI is just as super predictable as it was in the past, and all they do is paint a (prettier) and new location/circumstance on each game.
I don't like any franchise being thought of as just for one platform. Games are made for gamers to play.
Doesn't matter which race, color, religion you are, challenge you have, or platform you own, you should be able to play any game. One day, hopefully, the gaming community is one community and there are no dominant platforms, no superior race platforms, and no inferior platforms. Gamers just buy hardware and they can all play all the games, and when they go onl...
I am fine the way it is. Kind of nice getting 4 games every month that add to my collection.
I am not sure it is really that weak. Warface is a newer release of a decent game, VALA is a fun duel stick shooter, Metal Slug 3 is a nice side scrolling shoot'em up and Port Royal 3 is a pretty good RPG that not a lot of people have or would have bought. But any PC RPG fan would probably enjoy.
Frankly, both PS Plus and XBL Games with Gold have had a di...
@StoneyYoshi
The best selling VR of a bunch of VR units that aren't selling well is nothing to brag about. Whether it is Oculus, PSVR, HTC, etc. VR is a niche product.
VR is great, but its, price makes it a niche product, thank you for pointing that out.
Sony has committed to VR, and that is a good thing. But, no matter how you slice it, unless they can get the price down to $100-150 it remains a niche product.
Yup, this continues to show that if you want to play the most and best games, the best place to game is on PC. The only publisher that really doesn't show love to PC is Nintendo.
In 4 years it sold 5 million units. I wouldn't call that a fail. But it is also far from a success.
They've sold over 110 million consoles. 5 million PSVR isn't even 5% of the base.
VR is a niche product. It has been pushed since Oculus Rift heavily and has failed to gain deep traction on any platform. I don't want to say VR is bad, because it isn't. But, describing the sale of 5 million to 110 million customers is not anything ...
Speaking of a Franchise that needs to take a break....
Final Fantasy really needs a break.
Cross play is great for gamers (Assuming gamers have the option to turn it off). It is another option and there is nothing wrong with having more options.
I just don't get what the hang up is on console sales. We all know that Nintendo is selling the most, PS is second, and XB is third. But, all three are staying in the market. Which means nothing is really changing this generation.
Nintendo still sells an underpowered console/portable with really good games, Sony still sells PS with almost every year having a GOTY contender, and MS will still be in last with console sales, and we need to wait and see what having 23 ...
To me news is objective facts. Titling with "Must Have Titles Get Huge Discounts" is not fact. It is sensationalization.
In all seriousness, if you don't try something new then you are not truly innovating.
I agree that the cloud part of Crackdown 3 was lame at best. But, kudos that they tried to do something big. They were batting for the fences, but struck out. There is nothing wrong with that.
By ridiculing them gamers are encouraging vendors not to innovate. Just stick to the same working formulae.
Beside the fact I almost died laughing with your comment (thx for the entertainment), this is really an exercise will they waited on this DLC, once released for a bit expect a Tekken 7 Special Edition for new consoles that includes the DLC and stock next gen upgrades for near full price.
I don't see how MS is copying or stealing from Sony....
Halo, a FPS shooter long before (and after) Killzone
Sea of Thieves... What does Sony have like that?
State of Decay... If anything Sony is copying with Days Gone.
Everwild... Sony doesn't have anything like it
Grounded. Again Sony has nothing like it
Flight Simulator. Again Sony has nothing like it
Perfect Dark. Again Sony doesn't have anything li...
@Shiken
Sony has already put Horizon and Death Stranding on PC. It is not a stretch to see they are looking at multiple platforms as a way to sell more games.
First, I think it is more about where development of the games are. If you are 75% of the way building on another platform why would you just flush that? It does not make sense.
Second, MS has to be careful because of its size.
Third, Many times during the initial first few weeks of the announcement ZeniMax senior people were quoted as "We are trying to reach as many gamers as possible, and this relationship helps us do that". So, why would ...
Ya, a great game is a great game. I don't care what device it ships on because I own each one.
But I really wish that I could play every game on a single console platform. I hate buying a Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony console just so I can play all the stuff I like. It is really dumb.
@Tetsdah
Music and Movie subscriptions have transformed the two entertainment industries distribution models. And whether you like it or not, games are going the same direction. In neither music or games has either industry suffered and although you may require a full album, etc, the reality is that in most cases albums were full of filler songs and most people would only listen to the good stuff....
A year ago I would agree with you on Disney's strategy. But...
@Tetsdah
Spotify and Netflix have not killed the quality of music and movies.
I don't see how gamepass changes the quality of games.
That is a fear unsupported by any real facts.
So, if they made great games and they didn't sell well who is really to blame?
Gamers who decided not to buy their games.
Personally, I think this is a loss to the industry. Sony is heavy on action adventure games and Sony Japan provided diversity. Sad to see them go.
