Obviously not much of an XB fan as I think both The Ascent and Flight Simulator on XB will be my primary games for July.
@GOULDYBOBS
PS4 is not holding back the generation because of its age.
The development studios either have to build game engines from scratch or they have to evolve a game engine for the new consoles. Both of those things take years of time. You can't just pickup the new consoles and start doing better AI, gameplay, and everything in 4K / 60 FPS+. You have to restructure/evolve your game engine or recreate it entirely. The complexity of game development has...
@bloop
I see no difference this generation then in previous generations other then Sony has jumped on the supporting previous gen bandwagon. You look at previous generations. The first year, the games are built with previous generation engines but usually improved graphics, sound, and controllers. Then, in year two you start to see projects that were started with new generation consoles in mind. By year 3-4 nobody is supporting the previous generation anymore and everything is ne...
I agree that the XBO era was short on first party games. Same with the first few months here of XB Series.
But, their lineup for the rest of the year is strong. Sea of Thieves expansion is released, The Ascent is probably a timed exclusive in July and on GamePass, Flight Simulator in July, Psychonauts 2 timed exclusive in August, Hades on Game Pass in August, Back 4 Blood on GamePass in October, Forza Horizon 5 and probably Halo Infinite in November.
A ...
I keep watching and hoping for a reason to pick this game up. Unfortunately they have yet to provide one.
Vastness of open world rendering would be a GPU problem with previous generation.
People keep saying this about games MS makes. But, when we look at most games they get CGI Trailers. The only ones I tend to see get true gameplay seems to be mostly action-adventure games. Mostly because they show gameplay well.
But I see a ton of games that don't get much in the way of gameplay trailers. Horizon Forbidden West is about 4-6 months from release and just got its first gameplay trailer. Haven't seen anything from God of War yet. Returnal didn&...
I went out and supported the game about a week or two after release by buying it full price. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I do like rogue-like games to start with.
I agree that people can be too sensitive about these things, but at the same time you have to remember that many of non-white people endured a lot of pain, suffering, and lack of education because of white people for many decades, hundreds, and in some cases thousands of years. To just have white people wake up one morning and declare everything to be equal opportunity for all does not fix the systemic problems that white people caused in the first place.
I am a white per...
The problem is the best development studios for these games are owned by large first or third party publishers make games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc. There really is no AAA independent fighting game studio anymore.
@Army_of_Darkness
First, I never said there would be no bugs.
Second, the XB console uses a modified version of Windows for the console so it is one platform.
It is interesting how people are jumping on the Bethesda Game Studio.
This particular studio really released only two games last generation. Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Fallout 4 got good acclaim, Fallout 76 not so good.
They have been putting most of their energy into Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI. Neither of which have shown enough gameplay to know if they are going to be any good. Yet, you would think the studio is nothing but crap.
They are still unproven outside of arcade racing. But, I do have confidence in them because of how well they did with Forza Horizon.
i think almost every game tries to avoid call of duty.
I am not sure how smart it is to see an E3 and go out and even want to buy an XB. Personally, I do "research" before i go and blow $500 USD.
You can't sell what you don't own to start with.
That is not what he meant. It is purely logical.
Develop for two platforms and it is difficult to ensure everything is perfect.
Develop for one platform and it is easier to deliver.
That is just logic.
I think they are moving in the right direction. But, I do not think they did everything right so far.
There has been a lack of high end new triple AAA games for this generation which is one of their only mistakes but it is a big one. I do agree with delaying Halo a year, but they should've had something else in the hopper. We are starting to see this end. Pirates of the Carribean Expansion on Sea of Thieves, Psychonauts 2, Flight Simulator, Halo Infinite, and Forz...
I was thinking when I saw the trailer 6-7 out of 10. Glad I was on the mark.
I have a Kishi for my Google Pixel....
All I have to say is, "AWESOME!". Best mobile add-on controller I ever bought for my phone (And I bought a bunch in my quest to properly game on my phone).
