If you actually read the article, it seems like these indies can't even get communications with Sony. Waiting months.
Is that the experience with all indies? NO.
But, with some it is happening. I am not saying others are any better. And I am not saying Sony is doomed.
But, they did trumpet indies as coveted with PS4 and indies flocked there It does not seem (from at least these indies) that the PS5 era is the same. Whether thi...
Yup, because whatever anyone says, always applies to something they say in the future.
There are a lot of game failures. I applaud MS for trying to do cloud gaming. It was not successful. You don't get anywhere without trying something new. Everyone makes mistakes. To keep having them dragged up is a waste of time for the person dragging them and the people they were dragged on.
And honestly, anyone who just takes marketing at its word is dumb. ...
There were four devts in the article not two to begin with.
Second, I am not claiming any doom and gloom here, To me, it just sounds like poor relationships with the smallest indies.
Of course if you are an indie getting spotlighted you wouldn't be complaining. I think what these devts are saying is, that they aren't getting any help at all. So yes, many indies get help, but these ones are pretty much saying they are ignored completely.
That is kind of the complaint it seems. Some indies don't get any attention and they are venting about it. And compared to other platforms they sell their games on PS is not helping them much.
For sure, Sony sells a lot, but doesn't sound like they are trying to help the smaller indies.
So they release on the most popular console platform on the planet. That does not make them indie friendly. I don't know how other platforms compare, but it doesn't sound like Sony is giving great service to Indies. Or at least certain Indies.
This is not good news. Sony was the friend of indies with PS4. Doesn't look like they are that much of indies for PS5.
I am not sure about that. This CoD didn't have a campaign. So, I am totally not interested.
I have already played Plague. If you get a chance and haven't this is a pretty solid game!
To be fair, Sony is under no obligation to make it easy to bring game saves from a previous generation. People are only harping on this because XB did make it easy.
It is not that Sony is bad here. It is more that MS did something better.
On Switch I can't carry my Super Mario 64 game save to my Switch. Don't hear people complaining about that!
Carrying game saves is not a right for gamers it is an additional feature.
This is how things should be done. Promise 30+ FPS... Deliver just under 60.
Speak for yourself. Gears is younger then Halo, God of War, Mario, Zelda, GT, Ratchet & Clank, Forza Motorsports, and many, many other iconic franchises. And in many cases has had less iterations.
To me Gears is a unique third person shooter and it has plenty of life left in it. I enjoy running around with the lancer chainsaw and cutting baddies in half!
Ya, TA is a good site but to use it as an accurate stats site for indicating people playing is not a good thing.
A better stat is there is 267,000 gamers on TA with the game and 46,000 have the expansion. About 20% of original game players play the expansion which is pretty on par with other DLCs.
And for those that think that 267,000 game players is the actual total game players. Look at The Last of Us II on PS.... It says there are 180,000 gamers.
...
To me, the hivebusters expansion was the best chapter of Gears 5. For those that have the expansion. If you own it on GamePass or for real, you should play it.
That is true, but it is sad that the developers and publisher are not rewarding people that bought the game with the new version. There are a lot of games where the upgrades are free.
It is not Sony's fault and the title is misleading. There are a lot of games where the upgrade is free on PS. The title implies that somehow it is Sony's to blame implicitly.
PSN+ is a rental as well. Because if you drop your PSN+ subscription you lose access to the games. You don't own games you get with PSN+.
The interesting part is if you are a GamePass Ultimate Subscriber. You get the online gameplay, you get gamepass for PC and console (It is not rentals as many games stay for years), and you get monthly games with gold that you get to own forever, even after your subscription drops.
I like RPGs as well. But I am cautious with games now-a-days. Cyberpunk and CoD Black Ops were the last straws for me being burned. Now, I wait for the lab rats to give it the thumbs up.
I would've jumped on it, had reviews come out decent. Now, being on GamePass isn't even good enough for me to try it! LOL.
I don't know why people thought D&D was going to be anymore then a dud. LOL.
I like that they are separating it into two games. That way they succeed or fail on their own merits.
I find 18-24 months too far ahead. I think it should be 4-8 months.
1.5-2 years often leads to delays.
Forza Horizon 5 was a perfect example of a well-timed release trailer and gameplay.
@DOMination
You are correct. FH2 had separate X360 and XBO versions. The X360 version took the original FH engine and added FH2 XBO features. There was a ton of visual and dynamic features not in the game on X360 that were in on XBO. When I played it, it felt dumbed down compared to XBO version.
I expect that FH5 will be different. I would expect the graphical detail to be toned down but the rest should be there. Looks like it is an optimized and enhanced FH4...

I didn't say Sony would lose any business here. Didn't say they are doomed. I am saying that with four indies complaining that they can't even talk to Sony, that is not good.
Do you think that is good? That some indies can't even get a hold of people at Sony which is a pre-requisite for them to promote their games through discounts, trailers, and such? I guess that makes Sony really awesome in your eyes. LMAO.
