The primary reason I hate the comparison is that PCs are always getting better. Whereas console hardware is locked in for the generation.
It is OK to do the comparisons when the generation starts to see how high, mid, or low end they are compared to PCs at the time, but as the generation proceeds, consoles lose ground quickly.
The music world got rid of publishers?
Last time I checked 90% of the music listened to on all the charts are from artists attached to labels who are owned by publishers.
DLC has more to do with piracy and second hand game sales...
They are trying to ensure they get money from people who buy the game second hand or acquire it through piracy routes...
Unfortunately, this won't end now that it started. In the future everything will be DRM, used games and piracy will be gone, and DLC will continue...
As for indies... There are just as many rip-offs there as AAA games...
60 second shooter la...
Activision is not solely to blame here. Bungie signed a contract with them. Inside the contract there were terms and conditions that had to be met.
All Activision can do is enforce the terms and conditions that Bungie and them agreed to in the contract.
Bungie played victim when they left MS by saying they were choosing freedom and control over their own destiny (no pun intended)...
Now, people are blaming Activision? I think Bungie is ju...
Yes, they are not free...
They are built into the price of the subscription...
MS has been backing a ton of games since X1 launch that are not focused on gritty, angst, and wasteland...
Zoo Tycoon, Crimson Dragon, Max Curse of Brotherhood, Forza Motorsports 5, D4, Dance Central Spotlight, Kinect Sports Rivals, Killer Instinct Season 1/2, Forza Horizon 2, Project Spark, and Powerstar Golf...
And of course the purchase of Minecraft...
are all games that are not from the gritty, angst, and wasteland themes...
I have EA Access. It will eventually show up there...
I also like the Friends tab they added...
Showing your friend feed and ranking friends by their GS in the past month...
Or was that in last months update?
Whatever... This console OS is second to none... MS' decision to go with VMs and include snap are two very smart decisions that allow them to do this stuff.
I think it is more about features that actually change the system to make it much better.
It seems like everytime I turn my PS4 and PS3 on it asks for a firmware update... I do the update and I see no difference from the previous update. There were only two or three updates a year that really changed anything for gamers.
The X1 updates are adding features... Achievement app snap, making snap easier to use, social app snapping, Blu-ray 3D support, external ...
Here we go again...
MS offers free games and Sony does too...
Can't we just be happy rather than comparing?
lol...
With the Japanese launch, after pictures were released without lineups opinion articles were everywhere about X1 failure...
With the Chinese pictures showing lineups, all of a sudden there are a ton of opinion articles that say China might save X1...
Opinion articles should be banned from N4G... I want objective and factual console and gaming news only! Too bad you can't put settings permanently on to filter opinions out.
I couldn't care less.
I game mostly on my X1 because I like the console a lot... Whether a multi-platform or all multi-platform games run at a lower resolution I accept that...
As an X1 user I enjoy snap, achievement app, Skype, messaging app, friend feed app, external HDD with marketplace content, streaming media options, and many more features than are on my PS4... My X1 gives me the full experience less the resolution, while my PS4 gives me a lesser ...

Remasters are coming out because they are highly profitable. And I don't think that all them are bad, but many are a blatant cash grab.
It is hard to complain about the Halo remaster with over 30 hours of campaign and 100+ MP maps... But single game remasters are pretty annoying. Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, etc... Especially when games are only a year or two old...
I still think that a game should not be rewarded because...
That is not true. PC game piracy is still just as rampant as ever.
They are both the same to publishers.
In both cases they only get the first one sold... All subsequent bootlegs and used sales do not give them revenues unless the gamers buy the DLC.
Personally, I think revenues should go to the people that create and publish games. Not GameStop or it derivatives around the world. I understand people wanting the right tore-sell their games, but right now the balance is completely in the consumer's court. And that i...
Some real interesting stuff in there...
It is a bit hard to read, but one of his key points in the discussion on Minecraft is games and platforms as a service. Essentially saying that he doesn't care about the device as much as he cares about everyone being able to access the services from anywhere.
I think that is really important. I use a variety of devices. Being able to access my gaming investment from any device I choose at any time is a really big ...
I hope the game is good and sells well...
A game should not sell well just because it is a new IP.
In business when a company is paying $50 million or whatever to get a game made you don't just phone up and say, "our game needs more time to complete"...
You have to do this little thing called "justification". It is not uncommon that the source of funding million dollar projects will give you a hard time when you ask for a delay that is going to miss the holiday buying rush and add to the costs of the game further.
Although I am not...
Digitally pre-ordered and pre-donwloaded Mordor and Forza Horizon 2...
Tuesday can't come soon enough...
Nice to see. I used to always got the forza web site for rewards... Now, I can just use my console...
Next up... Halo Waypoint for X1?
