I bought it, have played with it...
I enjoyed it for the first few weeks...
But, now I am back to keyboards, mice, and controllers.
After Killzone Shadowfall, Knack, infamous Second Son, Ryse, Titanfall, Kinect, Move, Battlefield 4, Batman Arkham Origins, Oculus Rift, and DriveClub...
I am now officially skeptical until I see and experience it...
Not saying that they don't have great things... Just saying that many products have not lived up to their hype the past few years.
The issue is probably two-fold...
The architectural changes from X360 to X1 and the processing cost of emulation.
There is not one indie game on PS4 that I wish would come to xbox. To me, the parity requirement is fine and it will reduce the amount of shovelware on xbox.
The OS features just keep stacking up. I love snap, the virtual OSes and the apps... Now, greater customization of the environment will make it that much better!
It is a sad state of gaming right now.
PS4 I have dubbed the RecycleStation 4... Because its main feature is games from the PC Indie crowd or recycled titles from previous console generations. The few next gen exclusive games have been OK, but not impressive.
XB1 Includes a lot of recycled content from the PC and previous console generations as well. But the next gen content is of higher quality than the PS4. In the end gamers are shunning it simply becau...
Currently, my most played games on next gen systems are mostly multiplatform.
Yes. I have 20/20 vision and can see a difference between 900p and 1080p environments when they are put side by side.
Does it really make a difference in actual gameplay? 99% of the time no.
Ryse won an award last year for its graphics and it was 900p... While games like CoD Ghosts, Killzone Shadowfall, Forza Motorsports 5 were 1080p and did not get the award. What does that mean? Well graphics aren't all about how many pixels you have, its more abou...
The article is fundamentally wrong in saying that VG247 is to blame and not Sony...
Sony chose to use this comment in their marketing... Not VG247. There were tons of comments they could've quoted from the many reviews they had. They chose to use that one...
You think they would've learned from calling Killzone a Halo killer but obviously they have a short memory. They obviously had reviews beforehand and knew the scores for the game... Frankly, i...
Flamebait article...
Doesn't matter which is better...
If you own a PS4 DriveClub is a solid game...
If you own a X1 FH2 is a solid game...
If you own both (like me) you can enjoy both experiences!
That is completely off basis...
First, Forza has not traditionally had high sales on day one. Forza IPs have good legs and continually sell over time rather than huge day one sales.
Second, FH2 deserves the scores it is getting by reviewers. They are accurate and consistent with the game in my opinion. If you played the game you would know that.
Third, as for hype... Forza Horizon 2 did not have a trailer where they pasted on it "Dri...
Every since the announcement of DriveClub Sony fans have continually dissed on Forza saying DriveClub would be way better than both FM5 and FH2. Many Sony fans have even used the term GOTY to describe DriveClub... Or at least Driving GOTY...
Sony recently released a trailer that had a quote in it from one of the VG247 review saying it was a "Forza Killer"...
I agree that reviewers shouldn't encourage fanboyism... But, I also see the point when...
Not really concerned...
Halo Anniversary + Halo 2 Remastered + Halo 3 Improved + Halo 4 Improved + Over 100 MP maps = Excellent Value!
Whether it is rendered or native 1080p is insignificant to the content being provided. If you are a shooter/Halo fan there is no reason to pass this up.
From a brand perspective the decision makes sense. Treat all devices equally so that the experience is exactly the same on each device.
Also, from a publisher perspective this makes sense. They probably don't want to see either XB1 or PS4 dominate, so building the version the same on both consoles does not tip the scale either way.
From an Sony PS4 owner perspective it does not make sense. "We have the power, let's use it"...
So how do you explain that polygon rated Forza Horizon 2 lower than DriveClub, even though almost all other reviewers have rated Forza Horizon 2 much higher than DriveClub?
Do your research before you spout off.
Framerate only affects the overall experience when it is creating stutter...
I agree that 60 FPS is smoother, but a game at 30 FPS creates a "great" experience. A game with a frame rate of 60 FPS is an exceptional experience.
Wow, tons of comments...
Reality Check...
900p is not very different from 1080p...
and
30FPS still provides a nice, smooth game...
I find it funny that for decades of gaming 720p for AAA games was a wholely grail. And often games on previous consoles dipped below 20 FPS... Now, 720p and 30 FPS is unacceptable...
Too many fanboys focusing on pretty, and not enough focus on sound, gamepla...
This stuff is a long way away still... Year 5-7 of this generation at the earliest...
It is vaporware at this point. Just a whole bunch of excitement over something that may never see daylight.
Nice to see MS is still putting first party exclusives on X360 and not gimping the version for X1 in doing so...
I wish more devts and pubs would take this approach.
Actually, the launch parity clause was the exact opposite.
When it first appeared the PS2 was a the dominant console and MS had failed with the original xbox to get a lot of 3rd parties to make games for XB on day one...
So, when they shipped 360 a year earlier than other consoles they created the launch parity clause to encourage 3rd parties to ship their products on 360 day one as well.
Somewhere along the way, the discussion got twisted. ...
